Somehow a routine oil & filter service ballooned in price from about $200 to $465, but partly my fault as I got upsold into some additional services I was not independently certain were necessary... i can replace the engine air filter myself in 60 seconds, but let the dealership do it because I was told on arrival the price was "only ten bucks," yet the line-item came out at $39.95 on my final invoice. I need to be more on point about deciding how much work to cede to the service staff, and how much to insist on doing at home. Still, I've had far worse service experiences. More
