I am writing this to remind potential used car buyers not to “Drive” Berkenkotter Motors “Reputation” until after looking first into a dozen other dealers who offer some sort of 30 day money back guarantee. Trust me; it will save you and your family a lot of time, hassle and money. Long story short, we purchased a used SUV from Berkenkotter Motors and by the time we returned home to Colorado Springs, the truck was running rough. By the end of the next day, the check engine light was on and the SUV was stalling at stop lights. We took it back to Berkenkotter to look at. We did this for several weeks until Dan Berkenkotter texted me that we needed a new motor. Berkenkotter offered to help either replace the motor at our cost or swap this SUV for another one. We opted for the next best thing, which turned out to be a four door pickup truck with more miles, less features, and cost $2,000 more. We paid $11,400 four our SUV with a significant cash down payment. The price of the next best thing was $13,500. Mr. Berkenkotter kept reminding us that he was going to go out of his way to purchase our SUV for $10,000 and take it to auction to sell it on our behalf. Mind you we paid $11,400 for it three weeks earlier, and it sat at his mechanics garage for most of that time. With gritted teeth, we took the more expensive truck, and the thicker payment book. Buying a car should be a fun, happy experience. My wife and I drove home from Berkenkotter for the fourth time in three weeks in silence, feeling like they had tattooed the words “suckers” across our foreheads. We could not shake the feeling that we had just given them $1,700 for three weeks of aggravation. Mr. Berkenkotter kept reminding us that not every dealership was as kind and generous as he was in taking back our trade, and allowing us to upgrade to a different vehicle. After a sleepless night of thinking about this, I would bet ANY dealership would be more than happy to take our $1,400 plus another $300 in “handling fees” and do the exact same thing they did for us. Berkenkotter Motors should have just put our cash down payment onto the more expensive truck, and maybe filled the fuel tank for three weeks of our time and trouble. We would have left happy and content, telling all our friends of our great experience there. Now we see it as our civic duty to warn others to shop around first. Berkenkotter Motors will miss out on my future business, and as many people as I can warn, all at the cost of taking an extra $1,700 from our family. More

I was looking for a very specific and hard-to-find cargo van for my contractor business. I did a national search and was prepared to have to buy out of state. I was very pleased to see that Berkenkotter Motors in Castle Rock had it just a drive away and for a better price than any of the out of state dealers. I worked with Roman, who was very professional and personable. He gave me a great deal on the vehicle and when I made a severe error on the paperwork he went the extra mile to make the corrections. In every aspect of my buying experience I give Berkenkotter Motors a perfect 10. I would and do recommend them to my friends and family and I feel confident recommending them to you. More

Dan Berkenkotter and the people he has working managing his stores are great folks. Yes, they are car sales people, and yes, they are in business to make a profit - but these guys are refreshingly differe his stores are great folks. Yes, they are car sales people, and yes, they are in business to make a profit - but these guys are refreshingly different than most I have experienced (ESPECIALLY when it comes to Used Car/Truck dealers!). Most used vehicle sales people have 3 purposes - 1) sell you the vehicle TODAY, 2) at the HIGHEST price they can get, and, 3) tell you only the good things about the vehicle (and sometimes LIE about it). The folks at Berkenkotter (especially the Castle Rock stores I've done business in) are courteous and helpful and don't try a hard close, the prices are usually fair (and if you negotiate, they give you straight-up answers -- not the xx where you sit there for an hour while the sales manager and sales person try to sweat you into paying their price!), and they'll tell you all they know about the vehicle. If you're in the market for a used truck or car in the southeast suburbs of Denver, these guys are a great option! More
I have bought a total of 2 trucks from The Brighton Location. They go beyond what is required to make the "deal". If they don't have what you are looking for at the location you are at but there is a Location. They go beyond what is required to make the "deal". If they don't have what you are looking for at the location you are at but there is a truck at another store (they have 4 locations) they will arrange the transfer of the truck for you. So you do not have to drive to the other stores. I told them that I wanted a 12v Cummins that was in "good" shape. They did not have it in stock. As soon as one came in stock I was called and the deal was signed within 24 hrs of the truck arriving at the Dealer. Harti, George, Derek, and Mike work very hard to make car shopping easy on me. I have bought cars / trucks from other dealers over the years and it was always a headache. But here at Berkenkotter I did not have any headaches and have come back to buy a 2nd truck. (which was the 12v cummins.) My first one was a F350 in June of 2012. More
Sometimes the best way toi understand a dealership, is not to see how they act while making a sale, but how they act after the sale. I bought a 2009 Dodge Diesel truck from Berkenkotter in Castle Rock, and just three days after purchase a key emissions component failed leaving the vehicle undrivable. The piece that failed could not have been predicted, nor was it of any fault of the dealer. Instead of just giving sympathy to a very costly repair, they actually called to the Dodge dealership and checked the vin to find the part could be replaced under warranty, and then picked up the truck themselves from the repair shop and took to the dealer and got the work done. This was all on their own and was not asked of them. I cannot be appreciative enough for their customer service. More
I just purchased a Dodge Ram 2500 here and was very pleased with my experience. Unlike a typical dealership, the experience was very personal and friendly. My wife and I went to Berkenkotter to help our son buy a truck that he just had to have. I went into the dealership in a bad mood just because I wasn't ready to have the sit down for 4 hours and make a deal truck that he just had to have. The selection of trucks was excellent and the experience with Harti, our sales rep., was nothing but pleasant. He put my son in a truck he can afford and made the usual experience of dealing with car dealers a thing of the past. Harti had the truck looked at and anything and everything that needed to be worked on or gone through to make me feel better about the purchase he had fixed at no additional cost and covered under warranty. I cannot express enough of a pleasant experience with Harti and the Berkenkotter Dealership! If looking for a used pick up truck I recommend giving them a chance! More

You always know exactly what you are getting with them-- they are honest and it's obvious that selling cars comes second to respecting their customers. When the sale is done, they still go above and beyond to make sure they continue to support their customers. I can always call to ask for help, advice, and suggestions when it comes to my car. Berkenkotter Motors is probably one of the last trustworthy businesses in car sales. More
