Back in Early November of 2013, My truck my father had given me to drive through College had accumulated over 270,000 miles and was giving me fits from time to time. Seeing how I was now out of school an given me to drive through College had accumulated over 270,000 miles and was giving me fits from time to time. Seeing how I was now out of school and had a full time job it was time to purchase my first vehicle on my own and give him back what was rightfully his. After searching the web I found Berkenkotter Motors and they had the perfect truck that fitted exactly what I was looking for. It was a clean 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 4-wheel drive with only 65,000 miles. After making a few phone calls and arrangements with the salesmen Alan, he assured me it was a good sound truck I could rely on. So I went to go pick up the truck for a test drive and show my prospect truck to the credit union I was going through to get the loan. After driving it I told the salesman I was negotiating with, that if he wanted to make a sale the truck would need to be detailed and cleaned just like you would expect a new car your buying to be and a few small things repaired such has a fender light, electronics in the chair adjustment, cigarette lighter, and a few other small things. After being promised and assured that it would all be taken care of and taking a day off of work to finalize the paper work, I found out that was not the case. The mechanics at Berkenkotter only fixed half of the items on my list due to the fact that was all they knew how to fix, and on top of that they didn't even detail or clean out the truck like they said they would. All they did as far as cleaning was wash some seat stains out. I was finding used chewed bubble gum under the seats, McDonalds wrappers, and even some of the previous owners information as far as registration and a insurance card. All said and done I felt like I was rushed into signing the papers and getting me and the truck out of their life. A Little over 30 days after I had purchased the truck, lights inside the dash cluster quit working, turn signals were sticking, I had a security system that went off in the middle of the night that i could not get to turn off and caused the truck not to start until I reset the batteries, rear door lock motor went bad, and lastly I had a knocking sound coming from the truck and I knew that it was not good. The first thing I did was call Berkenkotter Motors and notified them of the knocking issue and would like it fixed. After several phone calls the response I got back from the owner of Berkenkotter Motors and their salesman Alan was bring it in and we will not overcharge you to look at the truck and will try to fix the problem with consideration that you bought the vehicle from us. I told them I did not have any days left to take off from work and had no way of getting it to them due to the fact it was broke down and making a knocking noise. I live in cripple creek and they are out castle rock (which is a two hour drive). I took it to the nearest Dodge Shop I could get it into and found out what the problem was. It turned out the trucks transmission, torque convertor, and flywheel were trashed. The mechanic said he was almost positive my new pickup I had just purchased had been slipped into a transmission shop at one point in time to get a quick fix. None of these issues by the way appeared on a Car Fax Report. After this whole ordeal it cost me approx. $3700 dollars to make the repairs and Berkenkotter Motors still refused to help me out one cent, because I bought the truck in as is condition and did not give them a chance to fix it. If they would of been able to tow the vehicle to their shop and fixed the truck they sold me I would of not a problem with it, but they did not offer me any of those services. All they could tell me, is that If I took the truck to them, they would look at it and try to get fixed at a discounted price. Why would I do that when they sold me a unreliable truck and couldn't even fix the small things I had asked to get repaired before I bought the vehicle in the first place. I even tried to get them to take the truck back and put me in a different one but of course they said they could do it but it would cost me more money. Now just in the last month my seals went out on my rear axle causing me to lose and saturate my brakes in gear oil . Now to the tune of about $650 I have new set of rear seals and a set of brakes. This has all been within 4 months of purchasing a used truck from Berkenkotter Motors where their slogan is "Drive our Reputation". After Driving BerkenKotter's Motors Reputation I have determined that it is not worth a crap and I personally will never do business with them again or recommend anyone else doing business with them as well. I went looking for a vehicle and thought I would give a local Castle Rock dealership my business since I live in Castle Rock. I found a truck that I liked but had a service engine light that I was told it local Castle Rock dealership my business since I live in Castle Rock. I found a truck that I liked but had a service engine light that I was told it will get fixed and that it was not a big issue after several attempts of taking my vehicle to get serviced I was told by the mechanic that they had approved half off the work and they decided to approve third party parts after the mechanic had recommended them that genuine parts are needed for this particular code and that the whole work was needed as well. Needless to say after 6 times of taking my vehicle to get repaired because the service engine light kept coming on I asked to speak with the owner and was confronted by him telling me I've been coming in and asking for too much and that the truck runs well anyways and it passes emissions all time this time I've ask for only the light to be fixed very poor attitude and poor customer service this was also my second time speaking with the owner telling him I was unhappy with the vehicle, to this point I am uncertain that my light has been fixed since I just recently pick up my vehicle, and to add to this my vehicle wouldn't start one morning and found out that I had a bad battery so I spent some money on a new battery. I would not wish this experience unto anybody hence the reason why I am posting this. More

Sam was the quintessential used car sales man, promising us the moon, up until we sign on the dotted line. We needed the remote starter removed because it was blowing the fuse for our turn signals and brak us the moon, up until we sign on the dotted line. We needed the remote starter removed because it was blowing the fuse for our turn signals and brake lights. Being the end of the day, Sam PROMISED to have that issue fixed if we brought back the vehicle later in the week. He was going to have the vehicle taken to his mechanic, and offer us a loaner car until the issue was fixed. We live 45 minutes away, and I called Sam each day to remind him of our appointment, because I was going to have to take time from work to make the trip back to the dealership. For some reason, the ever friendly Sam who was our new best friend two days earlier, suddenly did not want to talk with us. Why would he, he sold me his car and now he was done with us. The sales man, Roger, who was now the middle man and speaker for Sam, handled our verbal assault professionally when he informed us that Sam was only going to glue back in place, a rear window defroster cable that came loose. We had given Roger a small list of other things we wanted address since we were under the impression that he was going to send our car to his mechanic for a few days to fix the remote starter. The list included minor things like replace a small light bulb on the bottom of one of the rear view mirrors and re-set the tire pressure sensor. After waiting around nearly an hour, stewing in our bad decision to doing business with Berkenkotter motors, a service tech/sales person by the name of Eddie asked us if we needed help. We explained our situation with disgust with him and he asked if he could look at the vehicle. We handed him the keys. Within five minutes, Eddie was able to remove the remote starter feature. The dealership did not have any adhesive to fix our rear window defroster, but that seemed such a small issue after waiting round nearly an hour. In the end, we left Berkenkotter Motors in Parker Colorado upset, lied to, used, and abused. For less than $20 for a bulb, a smile and warm greeting, Berkenkotter Motors, who’s tag line is “Drive our Reputation” lost any future business from us, and from everyone I know in Douglas County. Our lesson learned, make sure the dealer ship FIXES anything that may be broken first, before signing the dotted line. I will have to keep that in mind next summer when I have to buy another car for my high school child, at another dealer ship of course. More

I went into Berkenkotter Motors looking for a used truck. Glenn was the first person I saw and he immediately got to work on helping me find the right truck. He listened to what I needed and showed me some Glenn was the first person I saw and he immediately got to work on helping me find the right truck. He listened to what I needed and showed me some trucks that were on the lot. None of the trucks were quite within my price range so we went inside & he showed me what they had to offer at the other locations in and around denver. One truck caught my eye but it was all the way in Brighton. He offered to drive it down just so that i could take a look! We ended up buying the truck. He made the process easy and he listened to me throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend Berkenkotter Motors to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle! More
We purchased a used truck recently from Berkenkotter Motors in Castle Rock CO. After having bought a piece of junk elesewhere, we wanted to get rid of it and find a better value used vehicle. We visited Motors in Castle Rock CO. After having bought a piece of junk elesewhere, we wanted to get rid of it and find a better value used vehicle. We visited a few dealerships, and found the services and inventory best at Berkenkotter. The people at Berkenkotter Motors are genuine and interested in being helpful - not just in moving their inventory. They had a good variety of inventory, and took time to talk about pros and cons of different vehicle choices, being honest and transparent about the weaknesses versus the strengths of the cars we were considering. They were willing to brainstorm different purchase / financing scenarios, and never made us feel pressured or frustrated. We walked away being glad we had given them our money, and knowing we would buy from them again, as well as recommend them to other people. Good people, great business philosophy, honest and simple place and process. Thank you Allen and Dan! More
I put money down on a truck for them to hold, as I live 3 hours away. We showed up at the dealership around 10:30 am, took the truck for a test drive. Right away we notice it's out of fuel, they sent me out hours away. We showed up at the dealership around 10:30 am, took the truck for a test drive. Right away we notice it's out of fuel, they sent me out in a truck with no fuel? OK, no big deal I'll put 10 bucks in it. Go to leave the gas station, no turn signals, no brake lights, and dash lights are going off like an amusement park. Understandably I'm a little upset when I return to the dealership, they sent me out in a truck that was not street legal! So the truck needs a few things, we put it in our contract that he will fix those things. When it's time to negotiate a price, the guy refuses to budge, and I feel treated me like an idiot for even trying to negotiate. At this time it's about noon, I already put a down payment so i'm obligated to buy the truck or lose my 500. Sign the paper work, and they say it'l be about an hour before it's repaired. I come back in an hour and a half... they're waiting on parts. About 4:30 we get a call, after we've been driving around Denver all day, saying it's done. Awesome. Get back to the dealer ship, take the truck to fill up the tank and head back for our 3 hour drive, turn into the gas station, and still no turn signals. xxx. Went back to the dealership, they dug around under the dash and hood, telling me he wants to take it to another shop cause the shop he took it to is full of idiots, then the tech asked what my time frame was?? Seriously? I explained that we'd been there since 11, and at this point weren't going to get home till 10, as it was after 6:00 at this point. Finaly they found some wires that had been cut from an old brake controller. During this whole situation, I was approached by one of the other sales man who gave me a hard time about "making" them fix the truck. I myself am a certified mechanic, and have bought and sold many vehicles, this by far being the worst experience I have ever had. More
