The salesman Todd (military vet) was able to find the vehicle I was looking for at their northern location. He was very accommodating and eager to help. We picked the truck up and purchased it that day. The over all buying process was fast and efficient. I would consider using them again on my next used vehicle purchase. More

Frankie, BJ, and Dan were great to work with, and let us test drive the truck a couple different times. They were very knowledgeable, and put up with my many questions about the vehicle's mechanical state. They gave a more than fair price on trade-in, and we left with the truck we wanted at a price that worked! I would recommend Berkenkotter over any of the bigger dealerships. This place was nice, family owned, low pressure, high knowledge car lot. More

But I was after the Honda :) Allen and "Cecil" where kind enough to take the time out and give me the best service. If there is any place to go this is the place. Check out the big dealerships and feel that stress as you pull into the parking lot or be stress free and relax with good conversation. It's a no brainer! More

Berkenkotter Motors Castle Rock CO I bought a Honda Element last week from Berkenkotter Motors in Castle Rock CO. It was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Not only were I bought a Honda Element last week from Berkenkotter Motors in Castle Rock CO. It was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Not only were Frankie and Dan extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable, they came up with ideas that solved some unique problems that I had to overcome to make the purchase. Frankie even went so far as to help me with my insurance company down the street, who were stalling in paying a claim, so that I could get the car I wanted. That was way above and beyond what I expected. I have never bought a used car before, only new ones. So I had a particular mind set (not entirely positive) walking into this dealership, about what it would be like to do business with a used car company. All of my worries were quickly put to rest. I drove out the same day with the car I wanted and I actually had fun doing it. And it turned out that Frankie had been a long time customer of Berkenkotter Motors for many years prior to working there. That speaks volumes to me. These guys are the greatest!! I would do repeat business with them in an instant!! More

The first was a F250 about 5 years ago and this time a clean 2011 VW Jetta. The truck has been great and the Jetta is very clean. Drove it back to Grand Junction where I live and it ran great. I will always give them a shot to sell me a car. More

It was an "as is" sale, no warranty, 3 days after sale the transmission went out. I went down to the dealer and explained problem to the Manager, he came back to the house and drove the car to his shop to see if i could be repaired. A couple of days go by, so I called to find out what was going on, the Manager Dan explained the transmission as shot and needed to to be replaced, he said he would take the car back as a trade for another vehicle...very cool as I was looking at a $2000+++ bill to get car repaired. We found another Jetta that had 20,000 mile less than the 2002, and he traded straight up for it. Everyone was very helpful and friendly at dealership. More
Have bought 3 cars and trucks from these guys, about to buy 2 more trucks. Never had any issues with the dealer, in fact they've gone out of their way to fix problems with one of the vehicles, even though buy 2 more trucks. Never had any issues with the dealer, in fact they've gone out of their way to fix problems with one of the vehicles, even though they were pre-existing, and still sold it to us at a lower price than sticker. After reading other reviews from previous customers it is clear to me that the people who have had bad experiences with the vehicles they've purchased are inexperienced or just ignorant. These are used cars and trucks, they didn't just come off the assembly line. You not being responsible enough as a consumer to research your purchase and have it checked by a licensed mechanic prior to buying it does not make berkenkotter motors a bad dealership. It makes you an idiot. Both castle rock locations are great places and people to buy vehicles from. We've dealt with the Brighton location, very helpful and friendly up there also. The parker location has not given the same helpful and friendly service to me personally, however they were not overly rude, I just have a better relationship with the people in castle rock. Do your part as a buyer and let them do their's, then you'll leave in a good vehicle at a good price and it won't cost you in the long run. More
Back in Early November of 2013, My truck my father had given me to drive through College had accumulated over 270,000 miles and was giving me fits from time to time. Seeing how I was now out of school an given me to drive through College had accumulated over 270,000 miles and was giving me fits from time to time. Seeing how I was now out of school and had a full time job it was time to purchase my first vehicle on my own and give him back what was rightfully his. After searching the web I found Berkenkotter Motors and they had the perfect truck that fitted exactly what I was looking for. It was a clean 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 4-wheel drive with only 65,000 miles. After making a few phone calls and arrangements with the salesmen Alan, he assured me it was a good sound truck I could rely on. So I went to go pick up the truck for a test drive and show my prospect truck to the credit union I was going through to get the loan. After driving it I told the salesman I was negotiating with, that if he wanted to make a sale the truck would need to be detailed and cleaned just like you would expect a new car your buying to be and a few small things repaired such has a fender light, electronics in the chair adjustment, cigarette lighter, and a few other small things. After being promised and assured that it would all be taken care of and taking a day off of work to finalize the paper work, I found out that was not the case. The mechanics at Berkenkotter only fixed half of the items on my list due to the fact that was all they knew how to fix, and on top of that they didn't even detail or clean out the truck like they said they would. All they did as far as cleaning was wash some seat stains out. I was finding used chewed bubble gum under the seats, McDonalds wrappers, and even some of the previous owners information as far as registration and a insurance card. All said and done I felt like I was rushed into signing the papers and getting me and the truck out of their life. A Little over 30 days after I had purchased the truck, lights inside the dash cluster quit working, turn signals were sticking, I had a security system that went off in the middle of the night that i could not get to turn off and caused the truck not to start until I reset the batteries, rear door lock motor went bad, and lastly I had a knocking sound coming from the truck and I knew that it was not good. The first thing I did was call Berkenkotter Motors and notified them of the knocking issue and would like it fixed. After several phone calls the response I got back from the owner of Berkenkotter Motors and their salesman Alan was bring it in and we will not overcharge you to look at the truck and will try to fix the problem with consideration that you bought the vehicle from us. I told them I did not have any days left to take off from work and had no way of getting it to them due to the fact it was broke down and making a knocking noise. I live in cripple creek and they are out castle rock (which is a two hour drive). I took it to the nearest Dodge Shop I could get it into and found out what the problem was. It turned out the trucks transmission, torque convertor, and flywheel were trashed. The mechanic said he was almost positive my new pickup I had just purchased had been slipped into a transmission shop at one point in time to get a quick fix. None of these issues by the way appeared on a Car Fax Report. After this whole ordeal it cost me approx. $3700 dollars to make the repairs and Berkenkotter Motors still refused to help me out one cent, because I bought the truck in as is condition and did not give them a chance to fix it. If they would of been able to tow the vehicle to their shop and fixed the truck they sold me I would of not a problem with it, but they did not offer me any of those services. All they could tell me, is that If I took the truck to them, they would look at it and try to get fixed at a discounted price. Why would I do that when they sold me a unreliable truck and couldn't even fix the small things I had asked to get repaired before I bought the vehicle in the first place. I even tried to get them to take the truck back and put me in a different one but of course they said they could do it but it would cost me more money. Now just in the last month my seals went out on my rear axle causing me to lose and saturate my brakes in gear oil . Now to the tune of about $650 I have new set of rear seals and a set of brakes. This has all been within 4 months of purchasing a used truck from Berkenkotter Motors where their slogan is "Drive our Reputation". After Driving BerkenKotter's Motors Reputation I have determined that it is not worth a crap and I personally will never do business with them again or recommend anyone else doing business with them as well. I went looking for a vehicle and thought I would give a local Castle Rock dealership my business since I live in Castle Rock. I found a truck that I liked but had a service engine light that I was told it local Castle Rock dealership my business since I live in Castle Rock. I found a truck that I liked but had a service engine light that I was told it will get fixed and that it was not a big issue after several attempts of taking my vehicle to get serviced I was told by the mechanic that they had approved half off the work and they decided to approve third party parts after the mechanic had recommended them that genuine parts are needed for this particular code and that the whole work was needed as well. Needless to say after 6 times of taking my vehicle to get repaired because the service engine light kept coming on I asked to speak with the owner and was confronted by him telling me I've been coming in and asking for too much and that the truck runs well anyways and it passes emissions all time this time I've ask for only the light to be fixed very poor attitude and poor customer service this was also my second time speaking with the owner telling him I was unhappy with the vehicle, to this point I am uncertain that my light has been fixed since I just recently pick up my vehicle, and to add to this my vehicle wouldn't start one morning and found out that I had a bad battery so I spent some money on a new battery. I would not wish this experience unto anybody hence the reason why I am posting this. More
