One month after buying the car, I was driving from Greenville to Myrtle Beach with my one year old and three year old (4 hour drive) by myself and the car started to make a grumbling sound when I accelerated. Shortly after, the brakes stopped working properly and I had to emergency pull into a gas station about 45 minutes from our destination (and 3 hours from home) in the middle of nowhere. It was over 94 degrees outside, we could not turn the car on and it took over an hour for a tow. This was a Sunday so repair shops weren't even open. Once the car was taken to two different shops, the Subaru dealership in Myrtle looked it over and said that the transmission was not original to the car and it was completely bizarre and busted (something Benson should have disclosed) meaning that it wasn't covered under warranty. We were told at purchase that this was the original transmission and that this car had NO accident history, so either Benson lied or they're a careless dealership with a terrible inspection policy (personally, I think both apply). Benson offered us the option of a different car from their fleet or for them to do a complete transmission repair, neither option i was comfortable with AND they didn't give us a lender car while we waited on next steps. I was stuck on Myrtle Beach with two babies and no car, and was then stuck for over 2 months without a car (with two babies) while trying to sort out an agreement and get our money back. After a long time and Benson becoming increasingly more difficult to get a hold of, they agreed to break the deal and give us our money back but tried to charge us for not having the car cleaned before returning and for some scratches that were there at sale and documented in the sale report (which is such a joke because I broke down due to their lies and didn't have time to take the car for cleaning when I was stuck outside of Myrtle with a car that didn't work??? Give me a break). If anyone is told by this dealership that they cannot break a sale after a seemingly nefarious sale, that is a lie. Look online at the attorney general consumer affairs reports for this business and see that they have before. This was a nightmare and I will never refer anyone to this dealership or do business with them again. If you do end up doing business with them, I'd suggest having a lawyer's contact in mind in the event that you have a similar experience to ours More
They knowingly sold me a car that is not safely drivable. They said there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. His way of “fixing it” is trying to screw me over again by “giving me” a car that I have to pay MORE for!! I would never recommend this dealership to anyone else, and if I could go back in time, I would never work with these crooked people myself!! More
I was interested in purchasing a new Kia Forte, the “Benson Price” advertised is $23,540! The dealership website literally says: “Mention this advertisement to the dealer to receive the advertised pric “Benson Price” advertised is $23,540! The dealership website literally says: “Mention this advertisement to the dealer to receive the advertised price. Advertised prices include $499 Closing Fee”. They attempted to charge me $25,535 base price, + $1299 add-ons + $499 for the fee listed above that stated it was included in the cost. I was working with Courtney Foster, who also involved her manager, because I shared exactly what the website said & I wanted the vehicle for this price! This dealership is very clearly misrepresenting their prices & falsely advertising prices & promises to honor said prices on their website, with no intention to do so. It is a very deceptive practice to post your price “Benson price” & even have a disclaimer that states you’ll honor it & it includes the $499 again but then add a market adjustment as well as additional equipment fee… You should post “MSRP $” then Benson price with your mark up & not have a disclaimer stated you’ll honor the price, if you won’t. Extremely frustrating but I will be filing complaints with the proper entities because false advertising & intentional misrepresentation isn’t legal or acceptable. I would suggest avoiding this dealership because they’re dishonest crooks. More

I have purchased 4 cars from Benson Kia. Each time the process was fast and easy. I went to the dealership on July 15th as soon as I walked through the door Charles Jackson greeted by my last name. That showed me I was an important past and future customer. With all that being said, if you are in the car market go to Benson Kia and ask for Charles Jackson, trust me you WON'T be disappointed. My daughter bought a used Kia and the whole experience was painful (June 12 2021). The salesman figured a price with a extended warranty that in reality was not available for that vehicle. We had to go with a much more expensive warranty package. The car was supposed to be ready on Monday night, did not happen. Then promised delivery to the apartment by 2pm on Tuesday, that did not happen sales guy was driving another customer around. Daughter was told to go to the dealership after 5pm to get the car. Arrived after 5 and car is not ready to go at 6pm. There was also an interior protection package that the sales person added when figuring the initial cost and it was not included turns out. The dealer ship (used car side) is not setup to conduct work properly, people kicking each other off computers and switching offices. Waiting area with 2 chairs is not fit for children or adults. Electrical cords on the floor. When talking in this room the stereo comes on and off, some one has a remote. If I were Mr. Benson I would drag my butt down there and get this place sorted out. I would when you put you name on a dealership you should take some pride in what you have your name on. Mr. or Ms. Ben I challenge you to fix this! John Cariglio More

Drove here from Charlotte to purchase a 2018 Dodge Charger. Car was 3k under book value which was great and the car I really fell in love with. HOWEVER, radio is defective and constantly gets stuck an Charger. Car was 3k under book value which was great and the car I really fell in love with. HOWEVER, radio is defective and constantly gets stuck and my dashboard glass over the speedometer etc was stained in which I was promised it would be fixed expeditiously. Took weeks to get that done and they claim to have fixed the radio but still having the same issues despite my patience in investigating what the next steps are. I have been quite patent with them about this and my salesperson ALEX HIND ignores calls and texts until he feels convenient. He also likes to bring up that these repairs cost him and how it relates to the deal etc which should not mater because I thought it was about making the customer happy? Then gave me a loaner vehicle to take while they repaired my car that NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE AND HAD HALF A TANK OF GAS. They think I will eventually just go away but this is the first step in getting all issues alleviated and I wonder what they will think once I start contacting investigative reporters today about these issues and I have video and photos to back up my claims. Typical used car dealership. Do not buy a car from them or Alex Hind. More
