4 months ago I left this review: ------- Absolutely awful. My Ford Escape was overheating & excessive white smoke was coming out of the exhaust. I took it in to Bellingham Ford for inspection. They tol awful. My Ford Escape was overheating & excessive white smoke was coming out of the exhaust. I took it in to Bellingham Ford for inspection. They told me I needed a new motor, & they recommended I leave it with them for an engine replacement due to risk of fire or catastrophic engine failure which could result in a possible accident, & they quoted me $7,500 for the motor & the labor. This frightened me, so I agreed to leave it with them to do the work. It took over 3 months until I received a call from Bellingham Ford that my car was ready for pick-up, & when I went to pick it up, the battery was dead & I had to jump start it myself, & when I drove the car home I began noticing a moldy smell. When I arrived home, I inspected it & found mold growing inside the car, on the seat belts, seats, on the carpets, & in the driver door speaker. This place is the worst. I trusted them to repair & safeguard my vehicle, & I paid over $8,000 to replace a motor that should be under recall from Ford Motor Co, & I got back a vehicle with a dead battery & mold growing inside. There is so much mold on the passenger seat belt that it doesn't retract. I did not have any mold issues before or any issue with moisture. I also asked the service representative for documentation on the rebuilt motor that I paid over $8k to have installed & they could not, or were not willing to, provide me with manufacture date or any information about it. I simply wanted reassurance that I was not getting the same defective motor & would have this same issue 70,000 miles from now...The only reason I will ever go back to this place is to try to get them to make this right & replace the carpets & seat belts. ------- I just received my car back 4 days ago. In total, Bellingham Ford had my car for 9 months. They did not replace the seat belts or carpet, & simply just cleaned & detailed to cover it up. To top it all off, I noticed after driving home that they did not fix the malfunctioning rear hatch that I requested to be repaired when I dropped it off 9 months ago, so I had to again return the vehicle. In the total period of 9 months that Bellingham Ford had my vehicle, I was ignored & neglected, receiving no status updates unless I initiated the contact, & I have to assume by the condition my car was returned, that my vehicle was also ignored & neglected. I periodically stopped in to check on my car & saw it parked in the back right corner of the lot. It was there a long time. I don't know why any service department would allow a car to sit that long. When I did finally receive it back 4 days ago, the seat belts & carpet were not replaced, & though the mold has been scrubbed, the stains from the mold remain on the seat belts, seat, & carpet. The passenger seat belt is mold-damaged to the point that it does not automatically retract, & you have to feed it manually back. The window molding is weather damaged from sitting outdoors in one place too long, & on top of it all, the interior now stinks from all of the cleaning & I can't be inside the vehicle for too long due to sensitivities to mold & chemicals that I have developed over the years. To sum up this catastrophe, I bought a car built by Ford Motor Co. that didn't even make it to 85,000 miles without needing an engine replacement due to a defective EcoBoost engine that caused coolant to leak into the cylinders. I paid over $8,000 for a rebuilt motor & labor, but Bellingham Ford took 4 months to do the work & when I went to pick the car up, the battery was dead & mold was growing in the interior of the car. I promptly returned it & it took another 5 months to get the mold cleaned & detailed, but stains & stench remain, & all of the cleaning has left a pervasive chemical smell in the cabin. This car is seriously damaged. I should have either taken it to a different dealer to replace the motor, or taken it to the scrapheap instead of trusting Bellingham Ford with it. More
