Bought a 2015 Mitsubishi Outback used. They assured me everything was fine with the car. I asked many questions regarding maintenance history and was told there were no issues. 4 days l They assured me everything was fine with the car. Turns out the cat had been stolen at some point and was replaced with an after market cat and sensor. Apparently, that doesn’t work on a Mitsubishi so now I’m quoted a $4000 repair on a $6900 used car that I’ve owned for 4 days. The Baytown Hyundai manager said “all sales are final and I should have checked out the car better before buying it” 4 days earlier. He said, “You signed an AS IS form, plus it passed our inspection”. I’d have appreciated some consideration and integrity from them after only 4 days. They knew an after market cat had been welded on and they just wanted to dump their lemon on me. Shame. More

For the first time in over a dozen new car purchases, Baytown actually changed the terms of my deal two weeks *after* the deal was closed and the car delivered. But revising a deal after delivery is the biggest sin that can occur in purchasing a car and after that nothing else matters. Caveat Emptor. More
