Horrible Phone Manners and Customer Service I have been searching for a very specific vehicle for some time and through an Auto Trader search came across the exact vehicle I had been searching f I have been searching for a very specific vehicle for some time and through an Auto Trader search came across the exact vehicle I had been searching for at a what looked to be a realistic price. Three months of searching and coming up empty so many times made me wonder if the right car existed. To say finding this vehicle had me excited and hopeful would be a massive understatement. Based on the online information and pictures, I was fully prepared to buy the vehicle sight unseen, but had one very important question that needed answering. Dialing the dealership, I received a recorded message that told me the call could be recorded, I really hope it was, because it would be a tremendous example of how NOT to deal with a potential customer and how to LOSE a sale. I am sorry that I did not get the name of the person that answered the phone, but I'm fairly certain it wasn't offered when the gruff voice answered after I had to "press 1 to be connected". I believe all that was said was "Bayside" as the receive was picked up on his end. I wasn't overly concerned with that as I was more focused on securing the vehicle for which I had been searching and finally found. I informed the sales person that I was interested in the Porsche Boxster to which he mumbled something like "which one?". This made me think perhaps there was more than one in his inventory. "The blue one with the hard top", I said. Rather sharply, he returned, "That's the only one we have". As if I had offended or confused him or could have possibly known what was in his inventory. Still undeterred, we agreed it was still available and I let the man know I simply had one question. "Do you have any service records?" was my request. The answer was confusing and confounding at the same time. "Well, we just got it in and I am very busy so I not really sure. I'd have to find time to give it a good once over and learn more about the car and call you back. To be honest, I probably won't call you back for a while because I am too busy right now." What?!? A car salesman too busy to sell a car? He went on... "Honestly, I may not even call you back until late tomorrow because I have too much to do right now." Then why did you answer the phone, I wondered. " Would that be OK if I called you tomorrow?", he asked. Confused, I said, "Sure, I just need to know one thing" and proceeded to tell him what it was so he would be prepared with what I needed to know to finalize the purchase. It was very specific and should have been easy to determine whether or not he could provide an answer, but I wanted to make sure he didn't waste his time on things I wasn't concerned about. It was at that point that he must have checked his caller id, because as gruff and short as he had been previously, his demeanor turned downright obnoxious as he asked, "Are you around here?" "No, I am calling from Texas" was my response. Without taking a breath, he stated quite quickly, "We will sell it before I could get paperwork to you" and he promptly hung up on me. Really? I am calling to buy a car have a single question and he hangs up on me? I had read a review that had stated something very similar about the dealership and how a prospective buyer was treated, but couldn't possibly believe it was true or that any sales organization would act the way described in that review, especially when there were others that were quite positive. Having worked in and directed successful sales and service organizations for the past 30 years, I realize there are times things can be misconstrued by two parties, but NEVER in that time have I experienced the level of disinterest, disdain and downright rudeness displayed during today's phone call. Suzi, you are not alone in being completely flabbergasted at the lack of professionalism or even common decency displayed by the representative of Bayside. Sadly for me, that means my search for the perfect vehicle must continue. Sadly for him, I had my phone in one hand and my credit card in the other, prepared to purchase the vehicle over the phone and arrange a transporter to deliver my new pride and joy. Truth be told, I really wanted to fly to WA with my 16 year old and drive down the coast in our beautiful blue convertible, but that meant over 47 hours on the road based on the route I had planned and with a hardtop convertible the drive would lose some of it's flair. Alas, we all lose. In addition to recommending some strong sales and phone technique training for your staff (maybe the recording could help - call time was 8:19pm CST or 6:10pm PT on 8/8/2017), I would suggest that if you are not prepared to sell cars to anyone outside your zip code that you not spend the advertising/promotion budget on online Auto Trader ads. Stick to fliers in your local donut shop. More

Lacks customer service!!! I called about a vehicle I saw it online. I spoke to someone named Brian. I went into the dealership and was approached by a different person who told I called about a vehicle I saw it online. I spoke to someone named Brian. I went into the dealership and was approached by a different person who told me I could only speak to Brian about the vehicle because he's the one who answered when I called. That I was his lead. First of all I am not a lead I am a person. So I talked to Brian. Brian asked several questions and listened to none of my answers. He asked me for different times where I lived. In the end he didn't want to write up an offer for what I was willing to pay because I wasn't absolutely one hundred percent sure I would take the vehicle if he did. He didn't want to waste his time. Which is fine. I told him when he asked me for my phone number not to give it out and not to sell it. I told him I did not want to be contacted by anyone. I ended up buying a vehicle from a private party but was shocked the next day when I received a text from someone named Michael who told me that he would like to help me find a used car at Bayside Auto. I was Furious so I called there and Michael answered. Three times I tried to explain why I was calling and he continue to interrupt me. So frustrated with trying to get him to listen, I said "could you listen to me for a second?" "I need to speak to the sales manager"...although I wasn't yelling, it was evident t by my tone that I was angry. Realizing this, He got mad and hung up on me. Customer service 101... You don't ever hang up on a customer unless they are screaming at you or yelling profanity at you! And you don't hang up on a customer who asks to speak to your Superior! So I called back and I spoke to the manager, Julio. Julio is the only person there worth talking to at all in my opinion. He tried to rectify the situation but it was a little too late. You don't hang up on a customer. Not ever. If that was my dealership Michael would have been fired on the spot. If you can't deal with customers, don't work in customer service!!! I was disgusted by this whole experience. The only time anyone seemed to want to acknowledge this and try to fix it was when I stated that in the era of online reviews, it was stupid of Michael to make the dealership look so being so incredibly rude. So here's what this is:........... This is an experience much like what you saw on the movie Vacation. This is a dealership trying to sell you the metallic Pea family truckster with the CD and the optional rally Fun Pack. Only someone as gullible as Clark w. Grizwald would buy from this outfit. More

I picked one out and then told them I'll be back for it next week depending on my work schedule. They gave me everything I need to get a loan from my bank but when I showed up with the money the truck was already sold and they push me one that could only get me to places. And the price is more than its worth and much more expensive for its year. They didn't even bother to let me know the screw me over for selling the truck to someone else already. More

She had an appt on Saturday the 15th at 3. We live in Lacey. It took 2 hours to get up there. Literally, as she pulls up, someone else is test driving the car.....she was told, oh sorry, it's first come first serve. Very, very poor business. First of all, she was NOT told this, when I said this to the manager (via phone), his response? All car lots are like this, yeah? Well pretend all your customers do not know this and make it clear to EVERYONE!! Ridiculous More
Never Bought a Car Before Honestly, I didn't know what to expect buying my first car. I graduated from the UW and struggled to find work for many months. Lost friends because o Honestly, I didn't know what to expect buying my first car. I graduated from the UW and struggled to find work for many months. Lost friends because of my financial situation. I found a great job and my car caught on fire on the way to work. Also caught on fire on the way home. I've always wanted a Cadillac Escalade. However, when I went to Bayside Auto, they kept it 100, I felt no games were being played and they were just people I could trust, rely on and believe in. I feel like I met a family rather than a car dealer ship. They treated me so well, worked VERY hard to fit into my budget and I don't know what else to say but Thank you Jason Sands, Bruce and everyone there. ~ Ridin Clean Demaris Davis UW Graduate Bachelor of Arts Global Studies 2015.
