Right Rig, Right Price, Right People Got home yesterday after a long, long ride on N bound I-5. I had a lot of time to reflect my experience at Bayside. Brandon and Julio are great guys Got home yesterday after a long, long ride on N bound I-5. I had a lot of time to reflect my experience at Bayside. Brandon and Julio are great guys and do their jobs really, really well. I went in looking for a hard to find Honda Ridgeline and found two to look at. Both from Hawaii. Brandon recommended the 2008 and I agreed. We worked out a no $$ out of pocket trade and nailed my payment goal perfectly. My experience at Bayside was my first with a used car dealer but I found it enjoyable. These guys sell 200 plus cars a month, but still gave me plenty of attention to my needs. Bayside is also one of the few dealers where you'll find a firetruck for sale! Kudos guys, job well done. More

Very good overall experience - no complaints Bayside Auto Sales had a Toyota Tacoma pickup that came very close to my requirements and was offered at a reasonable price. I did extensive advance Bayside Auto Sales had a Toyota Tacoma pickup that came very close to my requirements and was offered at a reasonable price. I did extensive advance research on this year and model as well as retail pricing, and made clear at the outset that I did not need credit and had no trade, which simplified matters. I was allowed to have a pre-purchase inspection done a few miles away at a mechanic of my choosing. The web page had a large number of good high quality photos that accurately showed the vehicle in detail inside and out. Anyone who has shopped for a car or truck on the Internet knows that the number, quality and accuracy of photos varies quite a bit. The truck was absolutely clean and seems to be exactly what I wanted. Jay was professional and easy to deal with and Matthew greeted me and helped when I came back to pick up the vehicle the next day. In sum, I paid a fair price for a great used vehicle and had a smooth and pleasant experience buying it at Bayside. More

This “business” sold me a car that is unreasonably defective. They are willing to let a member of our community who has contributed to their lot be defrauded out of a loan for a used car that does not work merely a day after purchase The thug “manager”, John, is especially manipulative and has displayed zero values. His response was you signed away all of your rights and you’re SOL. The car I was sold has died TWICE between repairs in less than a week, both times on I-5, and both times putting myself and everyone on the highway around me in serious danger. I’ve owned the car for 10 days now and haven’t driven it for even a full day before something else goes wrong. Spend the extra time looking for other nearby, reputable dealers. More
Horrible Phone Manners and Customer Service I have been searching for a very specific vehicle for some time and through an Auto Trader search came across the exact vehicle I had been searching f I have been searching for a very specific vehicle for some time and through an Auto Trader search came across the exact vehicle I had been searching for at a what looked to be a realistic price. Three months of searching and coming up empty so many times made me wonder if the right car existed. To say finding this vehicle had me excited and hopeful would be a massive understatement. Based on the online information and pictures, I was fully prepared to buy the vehicle sight unseen, but had one very important question that needed answering. Dialing the dealership, I received a recorded message that told me the call could be recorded, I really hope it was, because it would be a tremendous example of how NOT to deal with a potential customer and how to LOSE a sale. I am sorry that I did not get the name of the person that answered the phone, but I'm fairly certain it wasn't offered when the gruff voice answered after I had to "press 1 to be connected". I believe all that was said was "Bayside" as the receive was picked up on his end. I wasn't overly concerned with that as I was more focused on securing the vehicle for which I had been searching and finally found. I informed the sales person that I was interested in the Porsche Boxster to which he mumbled something like "which one?". This made me think perhaps there was more than one in his inventory. "The blue one with the hard top", I said. Rather sharply, he returned, "That's the only one we have". As if I had offended or confused him or could have possibly known what was in his inventory. Still undeterred, we agreed it was still available and I let the man know I simply had one question. "Do you have any service records?" was my request. The answer was confusing and confounding at the same time. "Well, we just got it in and I am very busy so I not really sure. I'd have to find time to give it a good once over and learn more about the car and call you back. To be honest, I probably won't call you back for a while because I am too busy right now." What?!? A car salesman too busy to sell a car? He went on... "Honestly, I may not even call you back until late tomorrow because I have too much to do right now." Then why did you answer the phone, I wondered. " Would that be OK if I called you tomorrow?", he asked. Confused, I said, "Sure, I just need to know one thing" and proceeded to tell him what it was so he would be prepared with what I needed to know to finalize the purchase. It was very specific and should have been easy to determine whether or not he could provide an answer, but I wanted to make sure he didn't waste his time on things I wasn't concerned about. It was at that point that he must have checked his caller id, because as gruff and short as he had been previously, his demeanor turned downright obnoxious as he asked, "Are you around here?" "No, I am calling from Texas" was my response. Without taking a breath, he stated quite quickly, "We will sell it before I could get paperwork to you" and he promptly hung up on me. Really? I am calling to buy a car have a single question and he hangs up on me? I had read a review that had stated something very similar about the dealership and how a prospective buyer was treated, but couldn't possibly believe it was true or that any sales organization would act the way described in that review, especially when there were others that were quite positive. Having worked in and directed successful sales and service organizations for the past 30 years, I realize there are times things can be misconstrued by two parties, but NEVER in that time have I experienced the level of disinterest, disdain and downright rudeness displayed during today's phone call. Suzi, you are not alone in being completely flabbergasted at the lack of professionalism or even common decency displayed by the representative of Bayside. Sadly for me, that means my search for the perfect vehicle must continue. Sadly for him, I had my phone in one hand and my credit card in the other, prepared to purchase the vehicle over the phone and arrange a transporter to deliver my new pride and joy. Truth be told, I really wanted to fly to WA with my 16 year old and drive down the coast in our beautiful blue convertible, but that meant over 47 hours on the road based on the route I had planned and with a hardtop convertible the drive would lose some of it's flair. Alas, we all lose. In addition to recommending some strong sales and phone technique training for your staff (maybe the recording could help - call time was 8:19pm CST or 6:10pm PT on 8/8/2017), I would suggest that if you are not prepared to sell cars to anyone outside your zip code that you not spend the advertising/promotion budget on online Auto Trader ads. Stick to fliers in your local donut shop. More
