I would not recommend going to Performance Volkswagen for business of any car. The sales department and service department are never on the same page and they make it the customers problem. After buying a used car TWO months ago, the service promised on the car has still not been complete. This is also after bringing the car up to the service department SIX times. One time the car sat on their lot for almost two weeks with not a single thing done with it, because they were "waiting" on parts. Then when the parts came in they STILL didn't fix their mistake. Then they sent the part back because they waited too long to put it in the vehicle. The Service manager, Keri, she is extremely immature and unprofessional. Only answer she gives is that it isn't her problem and to talk to sales. Then will hang up in the middle of the conversation because she doesn't have answers and is frustrated. Since when is it OK to treat customers like this?!?!? My family has done many years/cars of business here, well NEVER again will another dime be spend to this company. They lost a few good potential return customers. I would recommend to go somewhere where you will be treated much better and somewhere they don't make their lack of fulfilling promises your problem! My wife and I accidentally went to Performance, as we intended to go to Stan Olsen VW. However, we noticed the big VW logo on the building from the interstate and thought we were going to the right place intended to go to Stan Olsen VW. After much terribly wasted time, we were there over 6 hours, we finally decided on a Tiguan S 4Motion they had advertised on their website as a lease special at $259/ month. To be fair they had $100 to the cost for the deficit on our trade in. So $359. Jim assured us that they would have the car in "a couple of business days." Two business days later no phone call, no answers from Performance, as it was Jim's day off. So my wife drove their Routan for two more days (6 so far). Finally, they called and said they had our car for us and they would deliver it to us. Great! Wrong, wrong year, wrong trim package, no 4motion, no intransits, no paperwork to prove we had the right to have this car....which they got from Stan Olsen! So, I called them back and informed them we didn't have the right car. We were told it would be a couple more days. I said I would be up in Omaha on Saturday, three days later, and I was assured they would have the right car. We arrived on Saturday, and of course they put us in a WRONG car again. Wrong year, wrong trim level. Jim assured us that it would be the same price because they were having trouble getting the right car. Finally Tuesday, another 3 days, I called them again and they said they would have the car that day, and I could come and get it the next day. Thankfully, Katie brought us the car on Tuesday, but didn't have the Sales Tax form so we could license it. We are still waiting for that darn form! But wait, the price went up $20 per month for 36 months. One more month at $434.77 + $720.00 = $1134.77 in padded price. We received a phone call a few days later from Katie wanting us to sign a PDI inspection form saying they completed it. Funny thing is that they neglected to install the front license plate holder during their PDI which cost me another $36.60 to have another local VW dealer install. Which is how I found out that they should have installed it during the PDI. Oh...our lease paperwork says the car had 250 miles on it when we got it. It had 500+ miles as they had to drive it up from Kansas to Omaha, and then back to us in Lincoln. We lost almost 300 miles of usage at $0.20 a mile or $60. I am not real pleased that this car cost me $1200+ more than what it should have. Coupled with the refusal to answer phone messages to Jim, and another sales manager, or the Finance dept. I have to admit I am used to the way BMW dealerships treat me...very well...and expected the same from VW. More
I had a great showroom experience. I live in Virginia, but visited Performance VW with my parents to test drive the Golf. I specifically asked if they had a specific car locked down for delivery, and was told yes and that they would deliver in 10 days. This was important because I was leaving on vacation and needed enough time to title and register the car. They still guaranteed the sale knowing this, and knowing that my current vehicle was not in driving condition. Four days later, a salesman calls to ask if I have questions, and I ask him to get confirmation of the delivery date. He was able to confirm the 10 day delivery. I had heard nothing from the dealer or Jim Shu until I called on the delivery date to see what was going on, only to be told they didn't actually have a car to deliver. I was upset, but agreed to give him time to find something, and got him to agree to pay for the fees on the rental car I would now have to have for my vacation. However, I did voice a complaint with the business owner and with Volkswagen corporate headquarters. Jim Shu said he'd call the next day, which he did not. When I called, he wasn't in, and the woman I spoke with said she'd have another manager call me that evening, which he didn't. The next day in called Jim, left a message, only for it to be returned 6 hours later with Jim saying they were canceling the sale as they didn't feel they could overcome the miscommunication. Apparently, he felt my complaint to the owner was the same as me telling him I didn't want the car. When I couldn't get him to now pay for my rental car fees, I asked for a refund of my $2500 down payment, which they sat on for two weeks. When Jim went to get someone to process the refund, he put the phone down and I could hear him complaining about me to a coworker. He never put me on hold, and I heard the whole thing. Now, I'm out $300 for my rental car, but what irritates me the most is that Jim never once called me to give me a status update on the car (not even to say it was delayed). The only call I received from him was the one where he canceled the sale. Manwhile, the dealership's sales and service departments have called multiple times to see how I'm liking my new car. What a slap in the face! Don't go to performance! They don't deliver on their promises, hugely inconvenience people and then have the audacity to complain about you when you are unhappy (learn how the hold button works!). I didn't really have any intention of buying when I did, but Jim came up with the idea to deliver a car that wasn't on hisnlot to me 1,500 miles away. He said it was his goal to sell a car in every state. It's too bad he made a promise he couldn't keep. More

I was in a panic after my VW Beetle stopped.I immediately called Performance, because they had serviced my car previously. I asked for the service department and Dewayne was my service guy. His voice tone put me at ease immediately.I explained what happened before the car came to a stop. Dewayne asked me to get the car in so they could look it over. I was in such a panic about the possible repair cost and could not settle down. I gave Dewayne my husbands phone number and they handled the situation.I was so pleased when I picked up the car $99.00. That was it, "all the panic for nothing." I could not believe it. They assured me that my car was safe to drive and I would get home safe. I am very thankful and so pleased with the professional service and concern for my safety. Everything was set up in advance and their reminder system is fantastic. The service itself was handled in a very expeditious fashion and all service was executed exactly as planned. You did absolutely everything right! You showed off the car and put it through its paces (how much time did you spend in a CC to become so GOOD at demo'ing it!!). You peaked my interest! Over the course of many months you kept me in the loop, appraising me of specials going on and were always willing to answer any questions from someone who was intimadated by the car buying process. (Last vehicle purchased a 91 Maxima--great car!!) You checked back with me and ALWAYS did it in a way that was literally almost 'comforting'! I was so fortunate to work with you in the purchase of this special vehicle. I have had it now for the last 4 months and it has not dissapointed me one bit. I must also say that I have brought it into Performance for it's courtesy check and the service people and Jimmy were very helpful in Matt's abscence. Matt, I wish you were there so I could tell you face to face what a great job you did in "steering" me in the direction of purchasing this vehicle. I hope you read this at some point and I hope you are just where you want to be from a career standpoint as you totally deserve to be!!!
