We just purchased a new 2025 RAV4 and kept our current 2017 RAV4 in the family---we gave it to our daughter. Mostly happy with my purchase of a 2021 Toyota Tacoma Offroad from Baxter Lincoln Toyota. The only issue I had was on one of the tires. I purchased the vehicle as Toyota Certified which meant it had be Offroad from Baxter Lincoln Toyota. The only issue I had was on one of the tires. I purchased the vehicle as Toyota Certified which meant it had been looked over closely by certified Toyota technicians. Both times I went to test drive the vehicle the salesman had to have the front left tire of the truck inflated before my test drive. I did not think much of this at the time. I live roughly 45 miles away in Omaha so taking it back to the dealer in Lincoln is not a very convenient option. After getting the vehicle home and driving for a couple days I noticed that the drivers side tire seemed to be a couple pounds low so I filled it back up and did not think much about it. I proceeded to do this for a while after this, now knowing for certain that there was a slow leak. I figured I could take it to Direct Tires and get it patched for free. When I finally went to tires direct two months later they of course told me it was an unrepairable tire and I had to pay $600.00 to replace two tires so they matched and balanced. I emailed Baxter before I took it to Tires Direct and received no response from Baxter. They told me they never got my email even though I was responding to a email that had been sent to me from earlier correspondence before purchase, so I know it was a known good address. In my opinion there was an obvious issue with the tire before I purchased it so not sure how that was not addressed. I should have taken it back immediately after purchase, but was busy with life, hoping it was not an issue and not wanting to drive 45 miles to Lincoln for tire check. Response from Baxter is that it is too bad and that I should have brought it back sooner. They call it "Wear and Tear". No offer for a free oil change or anything. As mentioned before, salesman was nice and I am mostly happy with the purchase, but had not planned on spending an additional $600.00 so soon after purchase. Mark was great to work with and while I do not believe anything was intentionally hidden, I do wonder how something like this could have been missed and not addressed, even after a couple of months. More
