Customer service was great, the process was quick easy and to the point. Kevin really listened to what it was that I was looking for in a new vehicle and my next visit I know exactly who I am going to ask and to the point. I am new to the Omaha area via the Air Force. I came to Baxter Ford on a friend's recommendation and it turned out to be a nightmare. I purchased a 2009 Jeep Compass from Nick Lawson and I couldn't have been more displeased with it. The reason being was the fact that, almost literally, the second I drove off of the lot with my new car, I instantly had issues with it. For instance, the motor sounded as though it might explode or simply give up anytime I got up to 60 mph. On top of that, my brakes squeaked for the entire time I had this car(which was about 3 weeks), a side panel literally just fell off after I parked the car(nothing hit it or anything, just fell off) and a few other minor issues as well. The worst part of my experience was dealing with my salesperson, Nick Lawson. His lack of concern for my car's well-being astonished me due to the fact that he knows that I have referred several friends to the Baxter family. I was under the impression that a salesperson would want to take care of his/her customers so that they, in turn, could take care of them. But his lack of care makes me wander why he is even on the floor for Baxter Ford. In my eyes, as long as he is part of Baxter Ford, I will not step foot in that dealership and will encourage anyone I know looking for a car to do the same. He has single-handedly made me think ill of this dealership for his lackluster care for me and my deal. I now own an 05 Chevy Equinox because I was so irritated by the issues that I had with the Jeep. I purchased this car through Baxter Chrysler Jeep and Dodge and encourage anyone and everyone looking for a good car to go here, particularly to Loyal Beecher. He stayed late just to make sure my car deal was solid and good to go. He'll take care of anyone who comes in. Tell him Nick Deeds sent you in. But do not go to Baxter Ford. Trust me, you do not want an experience like I had. It simply is not worth it. More
My wife and I purchsed a 2013 Ford Focus from Baxter Ford in mid-March 2013. After we signed the paperwork, we were somewhat suddenly treated differently. Once they had our money, they made it very clear t in mid-March 2013. After we signed the paperwork, we were somewhat suddenly treated differently. Once they had our money, they made it very clear they cared about the Ford customer satisfaction survey. Every interaction since then indacted their top priorities are getting customers' money and having those customers complete surveys. They do not actually care how the customers are treated once they have either the money and/or positive survey results. More than three weeks after the purchase date, the County Treasurer still had not received the title for the vehicle. As a result, we have a new car we can't register and can't pay taxes on. Now, we also cannot legally drive it. This is somewhat problematic considering we rely on this vehicle for daily transportation. Additionally, we requested and paid to have a rearview mirror with Homelink installed. They kept the car for two days and did not give us a loaner car. When we went to pick up the Focus, they had installed the wrong mirror. Ironically, the mirror they installed had a compass and thermometer, both features that were already included in the vehicle's My Ford Touch (MFT) system, but it did not have Homelink, the one feature we explicitly requested. Why would we upgrade to features the vehicle already had? We had to bring the car back a week later and lose it for another day in order to get the correct mirror installed. When we took the car in for the second mirror install, it had 860 miles on the odometer. When we picked it up it had more than 890 miles on the odometer, and it was dirty. The trip timer also had been reset and reported 32 minutes of driving since the reset. 30 miles is certainly more distance than the distance from the parking lot to the service department and back. Although there is no video evidence, there are certainly strong indications that someone from the dealership took our new car for a 30 minute joy-ride without our permission. After more than 15 phone calls to the dealership, my wife and I have concluded that the only employee at the dealership who actually answers their phone is the receptionist. I have left repeated voicemails for the aftermarket sales rep, the general manager, and the title clerk. Responses typically take more than a day. Several calls have not been returned at all. I would not recommend this dealership to someone I despised, much less friends or family. If you value your time and how you are treated, take your business elsewhere. More
I have seen a lot on the new F150's recently. And as I am not in the market now, I will be before the calender year is over. So I had some time a few weeks back to check them out. I asked around work and was recommended to Baxter Ford. When I hit the lot I was greeted by a Salesman named Brian Walsh. I figured if I told him I was just doing research for a future purchase I would get the brush-off. Didn't happen, to my surprise. I told him my situation and the info that I had on the trucks I was looking at. He showed me additional features that I was not aware off from prior research. As well as expanding on some of the information that I thought I currently knew. Very pleasant and patient. I will be returning to Baxter later this year when it's time to trade in. I will be asking to deal with the same salesman. More
I have taken my car to Baxter Ford 3 times to get the oil changed. Each time I'm told my brakes and rotors need to be replaced and I'm pressured into getting them replaced immediately. After each time I have changed. Each time I'm told my brakes and rotors need to be replaced and I'm pressured into getting them replaced immediately. After each time I have actually made the drive to a friends home to check this concern that Baxter claims and this is not the case. This past experience at Baxter I was getting my oil changed, for the last time, and again they told me I needed to have someone come and pick me up because my brakes were gone and it was dangerous to drive my car home. After being pressured into getting my brakes fixed and denying this, all of the sudden my rotors were bad again. After denying they fix my brakes and rotors my tires became a safety concern then. Still refusing to have them fix these issues I took my car back to my dad who is technician and also used to work for a Ford dealership years ago. I took it back to him because how the employees of Baxter were treating me as if I was crazy for driving my car. Once again, my brakes and rotors were fine and not a concern. After talking to my dad about the experience he called up one of his old co-workers who still works for a Ford dealership and had him come out to check it out. The Ford technician didn't see any problems with my brakes, rotors, or tires. He then informed me that he wasn't surprised with what I was stating and that he has heard it before. He has 5 clients from Omaha who have the same experience with Baxter and they will drive their personal cars and trucks over 150 miles to him so he can fix what "really" needs to be fixed. More
I purchased a Used Chevy Trailblazer from Baxter Ford a few months ago and was very happy with our sales person Tasha Frye. However, a couple of months later I had a serious electrical problem with the ca few months ago and was very happy with our sales person Tasha Frye. However, a couple of months later I had a serious electrical problem with the car that cost nearly $600 to fix. The mechanic who worked on my vehicle(not at the dealership) said that it was a problem that had to have been present for several months to cause the damage that it did, making me wonder if the dealership knew about the problem when the vehicle was inspected. What compounds the my frustration is that I had originally purchased an extended warranty for this vehicle that would have taken care of the repair of this problem, but the finance department opted to take the warranty out of the deal to get me a better deal from the bank. When I first emailed the dealership about this problem they didn't answer me. When I went in a couple of weeks later they simply told me they wouldn't do anything about it. Very dissatisfied!!! More
I called earlier in the day to ask about a used vehicle I had seen on Baxter Ford's website. Chad was very willing to help me find a new vehicle but wanted to make sure the one I was referencing was still a had seen on Baxter Ford's website. Chad was very willing to help me find a new vehicle but wanted to make sure the one I was referencing was still available before we got too far into the process. I really appreciated the fact that he took the extra time to make sure that our conversation maintained its relevance. While the car I had been interested in was no longer available Chad was able to help me find another vehicle that I could afford and that would best suit my needs. Everyone who helped me throughout the process (Yay Finance Team!) was great and I highly reccommend Baxter to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. More
