Found the certified used vehicle from Toyota USA website. Talked to sales person (George Wallrich) regarding certification, price etc along with informing him that I will be registering the car in Canada. Talked to sales person (George Wallrich) regarding certification, price etc along with informing him that I will be registering the car in Canada. Rented a car from Toronto to Lockport to buy the used car and travelled with kids and family to dealer. When deal was in progress, they told me that there was some misunderstanding regarding the certification. Actually certification will not be available in Canada (Surprise!!) They should have told me that in first place itself when I informed that I live in Canada and will register the car in Canada. Since I put effort, time and money to go to Lockport and buy the car, I decided to go ahead with deal. After returning back to Canada, I learned from Toyota USA that the cerification is valid in Canada. Called the dealer (George Wallrich) and provide all the information. He told that he will call me back to me with the answer. No calls for 1-2 days. Again called him to find out that the matter is being looked by Tim. Next day when called and talked to Tim, he said he will look into it (certification) and get back. Same day got a call from GM (Shannen Wilsman) that they don't want to sell the car!!!! I am not sure whether car was actually certified. More
I researched buying a new 2010 Corolla S through four dealers in the Buffalo area. West Hurr, Basil, Northtown, and Fuccillo. Northtown and Fuccillo were uncompetitive as far as pricing. At Fuccillo, dealers in the Buffalo area. West Hurr, Basil, Northtown, and Fuccillo. Northtown and Fuccillo were uncompetitive as far as pricing. At Fuccillo, they really are a bunch of incompetent individuals that have a tendency (it must come from training as twice over the years I've been told the same thing) to tell customers, "If you found it cheaper somewhere else, go buy it there." Such a stupid tactic because the outcome is very simple: I will, and I have! That's all. No skin off my back. West Hurr had superior customer service, manager was very professional and not pushy, offered free gas card to look at car at their dealership, but ultimately could not beat Basil's price. Basil had very good customer service, had the best price, and added free oil change as price was already highly competitive. I essentially bought the car online. Slight wait times as far as sitting down with the financing manager and they tried to push the extended warranties on us (never buy those-really.) The dealership seemed to have been overstaffed as far as sales people go, but understaffed when it came to financing specialists and office staff. The same one person that answered the phone was the cashier, etc. Between counting money, answering phones, putting people on hold, paging people, printing receipts, she seemed to have too much going on in order to focus on any one particular task at hand. If I was to buy another Toyota, I'd only consider West Hurr and Basil. More
I went in and bought a Yaris. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I was dreading buying a car because I cannot stand "car sales men" but they were wonderful, and I didn't feel overwhemled or preasured, and helpful. I am sending 2 of my cousin's in to buy their cars! More
SHORT STORY: 2 Ladies - 2 leases - 10 days - BOTH, MORE THAN HAPPY... LONGER STORY: I've negotiated Mom's leases the last 7 times - my Sister's the last 2 times...They both came from GM cars they loved THAN HAPPY... LONGER STORY: I've negotiated Mom's leases the last 7 times - my Sister's the last 2 times...They both came from GM cars they loved ( LaCrosse XCL - G6GT) but 1 was overpriced and the other discontinued...I had to find them both cars that they liked... I sent them "shopping" 1 day to see 9 different cars to look at and drive...They both came back saying they liked the Camry and to see if a deal could be made... I called the 5 local dealers with the same details on each car ( no add -ons) for them to quote price...I only spoke to SALES MGRS...4 were quick to quote (1 highly rated - 7 calls no response) but it came down to PRICE & TRUST...GEORGE WALLRICH at BASIL was my last call for a quote...I'm glad I did...2 dealers came in at the same price... The Ladies choose to go to Basil because they were treated like family... This was the first time I didn't go to the dealer to finalize the leases, but stood by the phone "waiting for the other shoe to drop"... The shoe didn't drop... I rarely recommend businesses to friends, but I wouldn't hesitate to have anyone at least give Basil a call... More

Jack showed me the Corolla and it looked great. The car was clean and ready for a test drive. He made me feel very comfortable during the negotiation and was thrilled with the agreement. When I went to pick it up, the Corolla was ready when promised and I was very excited to drive out with my new Toyota. Now I know why my friends at work told me to go to Basil Toyota! More
It was quite a nasty experience trying to buy a used car from Basil. I had to go there 3-4 times for a Camry, and at each visit they would increase the price they offered me previous time. It was unbelievab from Basil. I had to go there 3-4 times for a Camry, and at each visit they would increase the price they offered me previous time. It was unbelievable. The sales reps say they act as mere messengers for the boss, and it is very hard to get directly to the boss. When I finally got to talk with the decision-maker and told him what the sales reps had offered me previously, his answer was "they were trying to get a price from you"!! It was a complete frustration and I just turned away even though I really wanted to buy the car. If only they had been nicer and more upfront about the price I would have bought the car. They showed absolutely no care or concern for the customer. I just felt sorry for such a great car like Toyota to be sold at a place like Basil. (The only positive note on this page looks so much like written by an employee!) More
I purchased a used car from Basil a couple years ago. It took so long for them to get to a price that we could both agree on, that I almost didn't even want the car anymore. So we agreed on a price and sche took so long for them to get to a price that we could both agree on, that I almost didn't even want the car anymore. So we agreed on a price and scheduled a delivery date. Unfortunately on my delivery date I got a horrible stomach bug. I couldn't possibly get up there, so I called and rescheduled it for the next day (which was a Saturday). With it being a Saturday I had my 4 year old son home with me and my husband was out of town for work so I had to take him with me. I still did not feel well, but I didn't want to hold up the deal any longer, it was already going on two weeks of negotiating. So I called ahead to make sure that I would be able to get in and get everything done quickly so I could get home. My salesman had gone on vacation, which I knew, so they said someone else would help me. I arrived on time only to wait for an hour and a half in the waiting room while they were assisting walk in customers. I was given Jack to help me finish my deal. My son was good for the first half hour, but then he started getting antsy and irritated just like I was. So you can imagine that after an hour and a half I was pretty mad. I almost walked out! So when we finally got into the finance office to sign the papers and I had to then listen to them try to sell me everything under the sun and go through all the different service plans that they offer, for an additional charge of course. I finally got everything signed and went out to get my keys and get everything switched over from my old car to my new one. Jack was so rude and impatient, I just wanted to ask for someone else, but I stuck it out. (Remember that I still felt horrible, so add that to my frustration) When I gave him the keys to my old car I told him that the floormats were in the trunk because I had never used them (I bought the car brand new and put the original mats in the trunk and used heavy duty rubber ones to protect the floor from the wet and salt in the winter time.) but before I could finish my sentence telling him that I used the rubber ones all the time, he said "great, so the carpet is ruined then!" in a nasty sarcastic way. I was so infuriated that I just got in my new car and left. I was so angry it took all the joy out of getting a new car. More
