Baron Nissan Bad Service Experience Let me begin my review on a positive note. I began my relationship with Baron Nissan the early part of 2014. The dealership I purchased my car from, a 2012 Nissan Juke SL is just too far to travel to so after seeing on-line positive reviews for Baron and knowing it is family run, I expected nothing but the best service. I brought my car in for an oil change and a brake system flush. I left with a smile on my face and like so many other positive reviewers I too told friends and family alike how happy I was with the dealership and that it would be the only place that I would be bringing my car too as well as purchasing future Nissan’s from. A few months later there was a recall for the timing chain on my Nissan Juke. I scheduled an appointment and even though I did not purchase the car there, they rescheduled me only one time and provided a free loaner car. I was still a believer and a fan. I dropped my car off on the assigned date and Baron called two days later to pick it up. Way to go Frankie, you’re the man and a very nice man he is. Frank knows my mechanical back ground as well as knowing that I use to work at a dealership years ago so I know the ins and outs pretty well. I am always concerned about recall work because the mechanics are paid at a lower labor rate then they would be for normal services. This is industry known but rarely known by consumers. Technicians i.e. mechanics sometimes will cut corners on their own or be forced to move the process along by the shop foreman or the service department in order to get paying customers in and out sooner and to increase / maintain the profit margins of the dealership. This is a normal practice and if anyone claims it is not, they are lying, period! Knowing this however, most of the A+ dealerships have their shop foreman (top mechanic) review the work to make sure the car is good to go in order to avoid a returned car to the dealership. Returned cars with problems are a nightmare and cost the dealership its reputation if not handled correctly as well as money and lost time to the consumer. With that said, I went to pick my car up and immediately noticed the bumper and right front fender molding were not attached properly. I spoke with Frank and he said no problem, just come back in a couple of hours and it will be taken care of. I returned later that night, and everything looked fine. It was not until later that evening when I turned my lights on that I noticed that my right front fog light was not working. I had a road trip the following day so I called the dealership the first thing that morning. They were having phone problems but eventually I did get a hold of Frank. Since they could not get my car in immediately, I brought the car into the alarm company that originally installed my HID lights. I set up my iPhone and immediately began recording as the bumper was pulled apart. To my surprise, the bumper had not been installed properly, a bracket was broken, the fog light wiring was jammed in the bumper and was arcing against the ballast resistor which caused permanent damage to the light and ballast and could have started a fire. My support of the Baron Service Department just went out the window. If this is the kind of poor workmanship that was performed on my car and could be easily found, what kind of work was done installing my new timing chain, a much harder part to take a look at. I was very concerned, The following day, I sent pictures to Frank of the damage and this is where I became very upset. There was no apology, Frank continued with his friendly demeanor but was more concerned with protecting his mechanic rather than putting my concerns to rest. All he kept saying was: “This guy is a great motor man”! Well all I can say is, I hope so because he does not know the first thing about putting a bumper back on a Nissan Juke! Frank did have a check sent to me to cover the damage to the Fog light but I never did hear back from him again and he did nothing to make me feel better about the experience. This is very sad because the situation could have been handled very differently yielding positive results. I received the follow-up survey and gave the dealership poor marks. Customer service never called but I did receive an automated response saying that Baron was sorry that they did not meet all of my expectations on my last service call. Really guys???? An automated response from this family run business that claims to operate always on the up-in-up. OK, no problem this review is now online and I will take my business elsewhere. Since then, I have had to replace my left fender molding as well due to a crack and two broken clips that were caused by Baron. Do not make a mistake by taking your car here for service.. They may be alright for an oil change but beyond that, I would look elsewhere……………….. More

When we bought our '07 Murano from this dealership, we bought the complete warranty package, including the "wrap" coverage which covers anything other than that which came with the certified pre-owned sta bought the complete warranty package, including the "wrap" coverage which covers anything other than that which came with the certified pre-owned status of the car. We were also told that all regular maintenance was free; and we drove away with the car. The first time we came in for the regular 3,000 mile service, we ran into a problem in that they did not know that maintenance was included in our service package. We settled it by placing a call with Richie, the Used car manager, who settled it for us. Today, we came in for the 30K service, and again ran into the same problem. Again, we called Richie, our salesman, who apparently settled it with the service dept. We had to call three times to follow up, and each time, they were supposed to call us back, but never did. Finally, we called at 4:30PM to ask about the car and we were told we could pick it up. When we went to pick it up, we asked if it could be put in the computer - regarding our free maintenance deal- so we wouldn't have to go through this hassle again. Perry said that we were supposed to talk to somebody else and that this would have to be settled with Richie or whoever. this is apparently an internal problem and we, the customer, are being made to suffer by it. When we went outside to get the car, we noticed that the car had not been washed, as listed in the 30K service list showed us at the start. When we came back in to ask about it, Perry said "we didn't pay for that". We said that we did as we understood it to be included in the price we paid for the car. Anyway, we got a bad attitude and a run around that is totally unacceptable for a "service" department. Treating customers like this for something that is obviously an internal problem is unwarranted. If we weren't locked in to this dealership for the next 80K miles, we would never go back to this dealership. More
