February 29, 2024, purchased 2012 BMW 535xi from Baron BMW in the amount of $12,844.15. March 1, 2024, I noticed vibrating from the car when turning the wheel completely left. March 2, I attempted to in BMW in the amount of $12,844.15. March 1, 2024, I noticed vibrating from the car when turning the wheel completely left. March 2, I attempted to inform Baron BMW. March 5, 2024, I had to schedule my own service appointment with them for March 9, 2024. March 9, 2024, I showed for the service appointment but it was rescheduled for March 10, 2024. March 12, 2024, I received a message from Baron BMWs service advisor stating both front axels had failed and two motor mounts showed signs of wear. I received an invoice for $6k in total repair costs. I asked if Baron BMW was going to cover any of the repair costs after selling me a vehicle with issues. Orginally, I was told by the service advisor via text that the Sales Department said there was nothing they could do since the vehicle was under [value line]. The Service advisor then said he'd ask the Service Director. The service advisor said the Service Director offered me 3 free years of oil changes. After I refused, the sales advisor said the Service Director countered with $400 off the total cost for repairs. Granted it was an insult, but at least they tried. March 16, 2024, I received an email from Baron BMWs Sales Director, Brandon Shannon, who made an attempt to resolve the issue and briefly explain that I wasn't properly informed about their val-u-line program. March 16, 2024, I informed Brandon that if their val-u-line program was intended to be an as-is sale, then they were required to disclose the car's issues prior, in accordance with K.S.A 50-636(c). March 18, 2024, Brandon offered me a $2k refund. I declined and counter offered to be refunded $4k. March 19, 2024, Brandon implied that I should be happy to accept the $2k. Per Brandon, "Kansas Law states 10% is all the dealership is required to pay." Ultimately, Baron BMW sold me a vehicle advertised as in excellent condition. However, they forgot to mention the part about their vehicles having issues before selling them to you. According Brandon, val-u-line vehicles undergo a safety inspection required by the state. Is it safe to drive on two failed axels? If not, what does a safety inspection entail? Still trying to understand how they didn't know. Funny part is their multi-point inspection found FAILED front axels when I took it for service, but when they ran the safety inspection it wasn't found. I guess they must've gotten new machines. According to Brandon, potholes can do a lot of damage over night. Long story short, steer clear from Baron BMW. If you have the same issues, Please file your complaints at least through KS Attorney General, BBB, FTC, KS Consumer Protection Division, KS DMV and BMW Group. Our concerns will pile up. Oh yeah, and they still make you pay junk fees. I passed that along to the FTC. More
My service representative s Patrick who is very attractive and caring. I was in for detail cleaning on my front passenger floor due to the spilled coffee, it wasn’t done the first day and Patrick attractive and caring.
