Baron has redeemed themselves!! I used to deal with Ken Martin, who is no longer with baron thank god, and this time worked with John (service mgr) and Jeff (service rep). Both of these gentlemen were ver Martin, who is no longer with baron thank god, and this time worked with John (service mgr) and Jeff (service rep). Both of these gentlemen were very good at getting back with me in a timely fashion and were very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this dealership. More
Where to start... $200 for an oil change, ok, it's every 15,000 miles so I suppose I can deal with that; $400 to fix a headlight and a window (which STILL isn't really fixed); I wish I could tell you how mu 15,000 miles so I suppose I can deal with that; $400 to fix a headlight and a window (which STILL isn't really fixed); I wish I could tell you how much the latest repairs are going to be, but my car is still currently in the shop, and after 10 unanswered phone calls and 4 emails (no reply), I still have no idea what's wrong with it. My car's warranty company called me 2 days ago and asked me what I thought was wrong with it and then stated that they were going to have to send an inspector out since they've had a lot of problems with Baron claiming that things are wrong with cars that really aren't. I've had my own opinions of Baron since I've owned my car (a whole 6 months), but that kind of sealed the deal. I'm searching for a different car right now so when (if) I get mine back, I can sell it right away and never have to deal with Baron again. More
Worst service department attitude and arogance I have ever experienced. Not only that, they are practically incompetent and way overpriced (as one might expect), but you might also expect some degree of ever experienced. Not only that, they are practically incompetent and way overpriced (as one might expect), but you might also expect some degree of intelligence or common courtesy- not at Baron BMW! It is worth the drive to Columbia or Witchita to both buy and have your car serviced! I can not believe they are still in business! They wont be! More
Had a week end visitor from out of town with a bad CV Boot on a X5 BMW. Had no luck getting the parts myself to do the work over the weekend and the vehicle was to depart again on Monday. Since I myself Boot on a X5 BMW. Had no luck getting the parts myself to do the work over the weekend and the vehicle was to depart again on Monday. Since I myself was not able to work on the vehicle during the week it was brought to the dealer for repair. Initial contact Baron BMW was not very pleasant (not a friendly or helpful tone a customer would expect) but the vehicle was squeezed into their daily work load. When asking for the repair cost it was quoted twice the price of another out of town dealership. Had it not been for the time constraint I would have taken it else where to a non BMW shop. I questioned the service rep why the costly repair, got no reply. I requested a repair price for a high pressure power steering hose and again the repair cost was quoted twice that of another dealer ship. Lucky they did not have the part on hand to install. Sent an email off to BMW Group Customer service they forwarded the email to Customer Relations with no attempt to address the matter. Generic reply was BMW centers are independently owned and operated and responsible for their own service pricing. Recommendation was to try to resolve the issue with the Dealership. The bill did not show the amount of time required for the repair but I did see the labor sheet showed a 3.5 hours repair for the CV Boot. I have repaired several CV boots in drive ways and in home garages and the most I have taken was about 2.3 hours. Keep in mind is with a manual jack and working on jack stands and no power tools. A lift and power tools would make the job quicker and simpler. Needless to say this is one person that will not recommend a person purchase a BMW in this area. I did not have interaction with the sales staff which I believe would be a much better experience. As for service I would highly recommend to stay away from Baron. More
I recently purchased a new car from this dealership. No games or gimmicks, just a straight forward honest dealer cost + reasonable profit deal, as it should be. Tarrissa and Mike were a pleasure to deal games or gimmicks, just a straight forward honest dealer cost + reasonable profit deal, as it should be. Tarrissa and Mike were a pleasure to deal with, and as an experienced buyer I highly recommend them. The finance office outlined their offers, as any business should in trying to be as profitable as possible, and I accepted and declined offers as I saw fit for me, no pressure. I was able to test drive as many vehicles as I wanted to until I found the right one for me. That to me is so important because I will e driving the vehicle for at least three year so I need to be sure I will be comfortable in it. The young lady at the reception desk was kind and patient and always was very helpful when we showed up unannounced to test drive. She is an asset to Baron more than they may know! Keep her around and promote her to training staff on customer service. Laura Bowman the accessories manager also appeared on our radar and we liked her. Great gal, and if and when I want to add anything to my ride I will not hesitate to call her. I have used the service department with my previous car and was satisfied with the service provided and that made me more inclined to consider the dealership for a purchase. So in summary, reception desk, sales staff, accessory sales, finance office and service staff all on the right track. Baron you may be on to something, treat the customer right and they will treat you right with repeat business and high recommendations. More
I live in the chicagoland area my BMW needed work and I was visiting my parents at the time since this is the only dealership in the area I had little choice as to whom to pick. I needed a cv boot. I was q was visiting my parents at the time since this is the only dealership in the area I had little choice as to whom to pick. I needed a cv boot. I was quoted in my home town labor and parts $350 knowing every place is different I knew it would be a different price but when i found out how much i was floored and pissed. They charged me $650 and when I told them the huge price difference and asked why the huge price difference they didn't have much to say except they charge so much for time of labor and parts AND maybe the other place underestimated!!! Ha yeah right I will never be going back there again. More

When I bought my CPO 2005 545i from Baron, it had a bad headlight assembly that they agreed to replace. When the repair work was done, I was told that they replaced the bulb also. A year later, the bulb headlight assembly that they agreed to replace. When the repair work was done, I was told that they replaced the bulb also. A year later, the bulb went out, which showed that they in fact did not give me a new bulb, and Baron would not cover the cost of the new bulb. I also had the mechatronics valve body go bad on my transmission, and had to take my car in five times before Baron would acknowledge that there was something wrong with the car. At one point, Ken Martin, a service advisor, accused me of researching the internet to find things wrong with my car and said that the problem was “all in my head” even though the mechatronics is a known issue on the 545i. Ken also refused to replace my brake pads and rotors as part of the extended maintenance plan, even though there was little thickness on the pads and I had not used the extended maintenance plan for anything else at the time. I had to speak with the service manager to get it taken care of. Toward the end of my CPO term, the car developed a coolant leak inside the engine, but the service dept said that the sensor was just too sensitive and it just needed to be topped off. The day after my CPO ran out, the leak came back and I found out that the coolant pipe inside the engine was leaking and it would be a $9k fix by BMW. This is also a known issue in the 545 and 645 engines. Either the service dept. chose not to find out what was causing the leak, or they knew what it was but did not want to cover the fix due to the cost to BMW. I traded the car in shortly thereafter and the number one reason I did not get another BMW was that I would have to deal with Baron’s service department. Except for Charles Clay, who was a great advocate for me as a customer, Baron treats their customers like dirt. They know they are the only BMW dealer in town and they act like it. More
The sales manager obviously graduated from the old stereo typical used car sales training manual. He has no clue what it means to sell "high-line" cars in Kansas City. These methods may work on the east co typical used car sales training manual. He has no clue what it means to sell "high-line" cars in Kansas City. These methods may work on the east coast, but not here. I have talked with numerous people who were more than disenchanted with the buying experience at this dealership. Six-step process designed to build rapport, find the right vehicle, get 'em inside and seal the deal today. Oh, and by the way, when I say no three times for the under coating, I meant it the first time. This sales manager needs to take some lessons from Nordstroms or Westin Hotels on how to treat a customer who is about to make a $60,000 buying decision. Baron is the only BMW dealer in town; they act like it and take advantage of it. More
