The service dept here has cost me a lot of money misdiagnosing problems. A couple years ago I brought in my sierra to get the tires rotated and balanced.The balance machine was broken and it was sug misdiagnosing problems. A couple years ago I brought in my sierra to get the tires rotated and balanced.The balance machine was broken and it was suggested that I get new tires. I did and my truck was still shaking. I looked online and saw a recall due to wrong transmission oil.I brought it in they changed the oil and the shaking stopped. I was still out over a thousand dollars for the new tires I didn’t need. I feel they should have immediately connected the dots on that problem being it was such a problem that there was a recall. Fast forward to this month. My truck started shaking again so i brought it in to get diagnosed, feeling pretty certain that it couldn’t be the transmission oil again. I was told I needed a new rear end 2400 dollars. I told the serviceman that I heard no noise and have never pulled anything with my truck, it doesn’t even have a hitch. I asked if he thought it could be the transmission oil again, he said it’s my call. I told him that I wanted to try before I spent 2400 dollars. He changes the oil and the truck stopped shaking again. I don’t know maybe I’ll have to change the trans oil every couple of years. The main problem I have with this visit is I was charged over 400 dollars for a diagnostic check that turned up bogus results. I am deeply disappointed in GMC service for these expensive mistakes. More
