Paid $8600 cash for used KIA for my son. Days later car shuts down while he is driving on I495. In all it shutdown 3 times before we could get help. It took several calls to the dealer to get assistance. Following their request I brought the car in to the service department. Unable to figure out why it was shutting down, I was told to take to a KIA dealer who should be better able to resolve the issue. (they didn't mention there was a KIA dealer next door. I drove the car to KING KIA in laurel. They didn't have an appointment for 4 days, so i left the car. While registering the car in their system, the service rep asked me if I knew there was 3 open recalls on the vehicle, I did not and was told by Banister there were no issues with the vehicle when I bought it. The rep said "they should have told you there were 3 open recalls" so you could decide if you wanted to buy it with the recalls. He said he would conduct a full diagnostic on the vehicle at a cost of $280. I sent a text to Banister informing them of what had taken place. I did not get a reply. I returned the following week to get the results. The service rep said there were no error codes, they suspect the instrument cluster was the issue. In addition to the 3 open recalls, the rear brakes were "in the red zone" (Note: The spec sheet says "New Brakes"). Throughout this ordeal I have made several attempts to speak to the used car sales manager (Mike). As of the writing of this review, he has yet to contact me. On at least 3 occasions, Jasmine and Kelly went to him while I was on the phone and told me he would call me back, it is 30 days since I bought the car, he has yet to make that call. So here I am, with a car that is unsafe to drive and given the option to either pay to fix the issues KIA found ($3,400) or purchase another vehicle and apply $6100 of the $8600 I paid to another vehicle they are asking $14,500. Said vehicle has low mileage (less than 40k), but both CarGurus and Autotrader report it as over priced by $2k. What would you do? More

Service department was very professional and notified me when my car was logged in after receiving it via the night drop off. I was notified through every phase of the diagnostics and received my vehicle o when my car was logged in after receiving it via the night drop off. Not only was the problem correctly repaired, they did an outstanding job on cleaning the vehicle. Definitely a 5 STAR dealership More
when I found out after two hours, service technician could not figure out what was wrong and they needed to run more tests. I waited more. I waited a total of 3 1/2 hours. Nothing was done on my vehicle because they simply said that they could not find any error with the car that I had come there and spent 3 1/2 hours for basically nothing. I just know my car told me that Front end collision prevention needed to be repaired. But in all fairness that light has not come on since so I’m not sure who is in error. Perhaps the car? My representative seem concerned, but did not hurry up the lateness of the final report. More
