I went to this dealership yesterday for an oil change and was reminded of a recall on my car. I let the person helping me know that I was aware of the recall and had an appointment scheduled for early March. was reminded of a recall on my car. I let the person helping me know that I was aware of the recall and had an appointment scheduled for early March. This person told me they could take care of the recall and my oil change as long as I could leave my car all day. I called family and rearranged their days to help me out and I was assured I would be able to pick up my car at 5:30. When I let the person know I wouldn’t be off work until six, he assured me my keys would be left with the sales person in the front office and I would be able to come pick up my car after the service center was closed. when I got back after six, I asked the sales person for Assistance, and he went looking for my key. It was very clear immediately that he had no idea what was going on, and couldn’t find my key. I shared the name of the person who helped me in the morning and my receipt that I was given, which I guess had a different name of an associate that I had never met before. When I shared the name of the associate in the morning, that did help me, the sales person treated me like I’m stupid because the receipt had a different name as if I’m too stupid to remember who the ONE person I spoke to was. After way too much back-and-forth about who I spoke to, the sales person finally believed me and called the associate from the morning to ask about my keys. The morning associate said he didn’t deal with my car, the person on the receipt did and advised the sales person to call the person on the receipt. He called the person who was on the receipt and I didn’t hear the 30 second phone call, but when the sales person hung up, he said, the person on the receipt lives close by he’ll come help you. I was obviously very confused and disappointed because how was it possible NONODH out of those three people knew where my car key was? I went into the lot and started shining a flashlight into my car and found that my key never left my car! They parked my car in a back lot and left my key VERY VISIBLE in the center console. When I opened my car and turned it on, I noticed someone walking through the back corner of the lot and assumed it was the person on my receipt, and it was. I informed him that my key was left in my vehicle and he confirmed my name and told me nothing was done to my car at all. I asked what happened and how that’s even possible and he said he’s not sure and started asking me to go inside and get my car key and ID ready for some paperwork. I asked what paperwork was this for, and he said he’d get me a rental civic and I could pick up my car in the morning. I obviously denied that because how could they be trusted anymore? He asked me to come back and said he would personally make sure my car got fixed as well as an exterior wax and I said no and left. This morning, I got a voicemail from the original person I spoke to yesterday saying “I think I figured out what happened to your paperwork and your car last night, it got pushed off to the side, but anyway, I really apologize, it’s not completely my fault, but it is the dealership‘s fault.” What kind of half baked apology is that? The cherry on top of all of this is that when I called to speak to a manager, he just apologized and said this doesn’t happen often and offered to complete the services that were not completed yesterday. No offer to provide any compensation, no explanation of what really happened, it felt like he just shrugged and said whoops. I can’t believe how terribly I was treated by every single person there. It’s hilarious. That part of this review asks me to rate their speed of service or any type of service when I didn’t receive any services at all. More
RUN. RUN. RUN from Ball Honda in National City. This car dealership is nothing more than DISHONEST GRIFTERS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED HERE! And at thei RUN. RUN from Ball Honda in National City. This car dealership is nothing more than DISHONEST GRIFTERS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED HERE! And at their D- rating at the BBB and Yelp with their 2.8 stars! They will screw you over and lie to your face..... and never EVER return your calls or emails to try to help you untangle the mess they created. We're 69 year old grandparents of 10, buying our 2nd car from Ball Honda, a 2025 Honda Pilot/ Sport. Our very first new car! We were using Costco Auto plan and our own financing. All of this didn't stop Bernard B from running the biggest scam on us. Most of which we didn't realize until we arrived home. First, he presented the Costco member price sheet... with a VIN # from a different car, at home we ran a VIN check, and THAT CAR was Honda CRV Ball Honda sold to someone in El Cajon 7/24. Then Bernard B announced, THERE WAS ONLY ONE CAR AVAILABLE LIKE THAT - sorry, the price on the COSTCO sheet was not available to us, we would instead have to pay $2200 extra for all weather floor mats, a cargo tray and tire locks.... because as he said: "That is how the car comes". ( a check at home revealed those Items retail for about $400 from Honda) Oh, and those all weather mats were never put in the car. We asked about roof rails, Bernard B said... oh.....another $1350. (At home, we see they are STANDARD equipment). We NEVER SAW THE CAR IN THE NEARLY FIVE HOURS WE WERE THERE WAITING. Even tho we had our own financing they said we HAD TO HAVE A CREDIT CHECK AND BACK UP FINANCING. We couldn't understand why we just left sitting for so many hours. Different men said they were getting the car ready, putting gas in it, etc. Bernard B was never to be seen again. Oh, why didn't we just leave? Because they kept saying, just a little while longer. When we finally got the keys, we were exhausted. We didn't notice the Monroney dealer sticker had been removed from the car! At home we checked about this and see it is FEDERAL OFFENSE to remove the sticker and has possible $1000 fine. We'll be reporting this to as many places as will take a report. We also noticed there was no owner's manual in the car. Fast forward to today, BALL HONDA NEVER SENT IN THE PAPERWORK to our bank, despite telling us they had everything they needed in an email the day after the sale. So now their overpriced financing has kicked in. We are trying to work with Costco to straighten all of this out. Being the nice people we are, we just thought they were disorganized. BUT WE NOW KNOW BETTER. This was a highly orchestrated scam. We see they got the car from Lemon Grove Mossy Honda, as we can see the VIN record on the car they sold us and its history. More
Wanted to recognize Juan Espinoza for his great customer service and helping with servicing my car. Juan was very accommodating I had to leave my car for a day or two, worried that I wouldn't have a car to service and helping with servicing my car. Juan was very accommodating I had to leave my car for a day or two, worried that I wouldn't have a car to go to work, but he looked out for me and gave me a loner car for transportation. Juan was great at communicating with me, very honest, and got me the best deals and what I truly needed for my Honda Accord to be in the best shape ever. I can't thank Juan enough. We definitely need more service people like him that we can trust! Thanks again Juan! More
Not a customer comes first dealer. After negotiating a price on a new 2024 Honda CRV, a classic bait and switch was done by the Asst Manager Bernard B. Fast talking Finance Manager Joe After negotiating a price on a new 2024 Honda CRV, a classic bait and switch was done by the Asst Manager Bernard B. Fast talking Finance Manager Joe B wiz right thru the contract while talking about his personal life I didn't catch the switch on the actual selling price which was way over MSRP. Don't recommend this dealer, shop elsewhere. Should have followed my initial instincts and gone to Chula Vista Honda instead. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! More
Worst customer service experience. Had a 08:30 appointment. Didn't matter since management allows more than 20+ people to make a appointment between 08:00-08:30. Was informed even with Had a 08:30 appointment. Didn't matter since management allows more than 20+ people to make a appointment between 08:00-08:30. Was informed even with a appointment time it would still take 2+ hours for a simple oil change!!!. Why does management allow this to happen? Reflects xxxx poor leadership and policies. After being a loyal customer for over 23+ years. They have lost a customer and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Especially since being told "if you don't like you should go else where" which is what I did. More
If you take care of your vehicle as much as I do, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not bring your vehicle to Ball Honda of National City to get serviced. My A/C had stopped working and I received a letter from Honda PLEASE PLEASE do not bring your vehicle to Ball Honda of National City to get serviced. My A/C had stopped working and I received a letter from Honda for an extra 10 year warranty extension for the A/C condenser, cause apparently Honda made the 2018 Honda Accords with a faulty condenser. My wanna-be “Service Advisor” was Eduardo Servin and the wanna-be “Tech” was David Angulo. Eduardo called me to tell me that the issue with the A/C was the condenser and they would replace at no cost because of the extended warranty. On top of that, he said I needed tires and brakes, and needed my permission go ahead and do the brakes. We all know the dealer charges an arm and a leg for service, so I denied because I knew I could get the work done cheaper somewhere else. He called me back 15-20 minutes later saying that unfortunately I also needed a compressor for the A/C which would cost me $2,146, since apparently the compressor was not covered under the warranty. At this point, I knew I was being taken advantage of for being a woman and assuming I know nothing about cars and repairs. I told him to just finish with the condenser and I would be there with my dad or fiancé. He said he still had to charge me for the diagnostic fee, I told him it was pathetic because part of the problem WAS the condenser which had to get replaced and should be under warranty. Once I got there with my dad, he denied ever telling me I had to pay the diagnostic fee, of course because I showed up with a man. The next day, I took my car to another shop and they told me the issue was NOT the compressor, the problem was that the dealer had overcharged it. That shop charged me $199 because they had a coupon to do the diagnostic and fix. My A/C is completely fixed now. This is $199 that I shouldn’t have had to pay if the dealer wouldn’t have done a half xxx job and try to price gauge me and try to see me a compressor that I did not need. Ball Honda needs to train their techs better because they do not know what the xxxx they’re doing. Horrible customer service right from the beginning. I will never step foot at a Honda dealer EVER again, and I’ll make sure my family and friends never do also. More

He texted me and told me to text when I was on my way. Left at 11:30am, texted him and drove 52 miles round trip for them to tell me it was already sold. It was clear from their reaction that the listing was just a scam to get folks to come down. If it's too good to be true, it's likely not true! More

That is a 7k difference in trade in value where are these crooks getting their trade in values from? The Honda civic that i wanted to purchase had a MSRP for 25k the dealer add-ons took it up to 34k but I noticed that some add-ons where not even installed on the car and I notified the sales manager Miguel of this and he tried to tell me that everything is installed, then I told him the stripes are not installed, and the door protectors are not installed, Miguel then changes his mind and says ohh right those add-ons are not installed and goes to tell me that he will drop the price on the civic to 29k and to take my trade in to Carmax lol. DON'T do buissness with unethical people at Ball honda and make sure you get a service receipt of all the add-ons they are charging you for instead just alleging that they are already installed. Miguel told me Ball Honda always does buissness this way, well I will be reporting this dealership for fraud. More
