We visited the dealership on the Labor Day Weekend - did not know for sure what car we are interested in. So, when the salesperson asked what car we want to see, my wife named three. To this the salesperso not know for sure what car we are interested in. So, when the salesperson asked what car we want to see, my wife named three. To this the salesperson replied that this is a very busy time of the week and to check out more than one-two cars would be difficult. We ended test driving only one car. The salesperson was not knowledgeable - we knew many things from online searching, and had to correct him on several occasions. My wife was interested in a Prius with a navigation system and back up camera. The salesperson assured us that even though they do not have this package, it can be easy installed, and will take only 2-3 days. This statement was later repeated by the manager. (back home I called few dealers searching for a car with the package in place, and was told by all of them that this cannot be done on a Toyota Prius II, only Toyota Prius III have this option). When the manager arrived, he was not very friendly, pressing my wife "You know what happened with the Tsunami" "If you do not act fast you might be not able to find another Prius at all", etc. He also was visibly disgusted when I asked how much below the sticker price he can offer us... The manager did not appear interested in us at all. We left very disappointed. At home I returned to the Web, called few dealers, and within one hour located a dealership with 2 cars with the package installed. The "Internet Adviser" was very knowledgeable - and offered us a $900 discount on the phone. We bought the car next day and decided to drive as far as it goes, just not to deal with Balise Toyota More

I will start by saying that my sales experience at Balise Toyota was fantastic! I enjoyed the entire buying experience and have highly recommended it's sales department to family and friends. On the othe Toyota was fantastic! I enjoyed the entire buying experience and have highly recommended it's sales department to family and friends. On the other hand, I have had multiple poor experiences with the service department at this dealership, and will no longer bring my vehicle there for service. I will start by saying that after I brought my brand new truck in for several recall notifications, drove home and washed it, I now had a gigantic crease in the roof that was not present before my service. I called the service manager Steve and discussed the matter. The end result, after a rhetorical conversation, was that the dealer denied responsibility for the damage, but fixed my truck. In addition to my damaged roof, the truck sustained a few nice scratches in the rear bumper on a different service call, I knew it was not worth fighting over considering past dealings. From my experience, both male and female service members on the phone have been extremely rude and condescending. Their high strung dispositions, especially when discussing legitimate recall inquiries, were uncalled for and are a contributing factor to my business going elsewhere! I would recommend the sales department at this deanship, but the service department will never treat your vehicle or yourself with respect. I don't expect anyone to kiss my xxx, but after spending $40K+ on a new vehicle in today's economy, I do have reasonable expectations of the service department I have confided in to service my truck!! Pro's: Willing to work with you. Great experience working with Danielle to get the greatest deal. Told them what I was looking for for a monthly payment (had a lot of negative equity on trade). She working with Danielle to get the greatest deal. Told them what I was looking for for a monthly payment (had a lot of negative equity on trade). She made it happen. Finance Mgr (can't remember name) was awesome. He was able to provide the best APR, and was able to add in GAP insurance and free oil changes for 5 years without increasing overall monthly payment/price. Cons: Julio didn't know too much about the make of car I was buying. I had to pay out of pocket after the fact for a copy of my registration since they (after promising to mail it over night so I could be state compliant) regular mailed it, and also forgot to write on envelope physical building mailing address. Was told that "everything was all set" when I talked on phone, only to find out that it was not. Had to wait on paperwork... More
Big fan of the dealership, I drove 2.5 hours just for the customer service and persistence. I ordered a FJ Cruiser Trail Teams in Jan however the disaster in Japan pushed the delivery date out until June. customer service and persistence. I ordered a FJ Cruiser Trail Teams in Jan however the disaster in Japan pushed the delivery date out until June. The sales manager Bobby Blacker was my main point of contact and was very diligent in follow up. He let me know every week the status of the car and when it might arrive. Given it was a limited edition model there were only a few coming into the US. Somehow Bobby was able to fight for my car and of the 3 that were delivered in June one was assigned to me. Once I we had a definitive delivery date I worked with Bill and Erick who were 100% customer focused and made sure my experience was exceptional. When I arrived at the dealership I was impressed with it size and how friendly the staff was. It seemed most of them knew who I was before arriving. This is a very family focused dealership. For the ride I brought my 2 girls who had a great time playing on the pirate ship, eating donuts, coloring working books, watching TV all provided by the dealership. Those extras made I much easier for me when I was going though the paperwork. All said and done the service was awesome, the deal was great and the GM Bill grilled my kids and I lunch. What could be better. With my next Toyota I will head back despite 2.5 hr drive. More
We had such a bad experience with this dealership that we are amazed. They treat customers horribly, switch prices, make you wait hours even though you have an appointment, make up lies as to why the price i are amazed. They treat customers horribly, switch prices, make you wait hours even though you have an appointment, make up lies as to why the price is now higher, offered an extremely low price for a trade. There is no communication between employees. It is awful and we did not go through with the sale. I do not normally complete these types of complaints but believe I have an obligation to warn people as I wish I had been warned. I have not included all the details, but suffice it to say it was really bad if I was on the verge of tears. Buying a new car should be exciting. If you think you can "handle" them and won't let them abuse you, you are wrong as they are very sneaky. Our experience was somewhat similar to brandymarie. This makes me wonder if the sales manager and his staff are rude to customers that bring in checks because they are not financing through Balise. Perhaps the sales mgr and staff's compensation is based on the financing they are able to sell? We arrived with a scheduled appointment and a check in hand. We arrived early (Jason knew we were waiting) and at our scheduled time, we were told that Jason (business office) had just taken another customer into his office (someone that did not have an appt. but must have just bought a car and wanted their financing) and we ended up waiting 1 hour and 5 minutes before deciding enough was enough and then left. They are probably happy because now they can sell the car to someone naive enough to take their financing. More

You decide if we were treated fairly ....... I sent You decide if we were treated fairly ....... I sent the email below to Balise Toyota via their website. After sending the email I did receive a pho You decide if we were treated fairly ....... I sent the email below to Balise Toyota via their website. After sending the email I did receive a phone call from the general manager stating that they would finally honor their advertised price and then he proceeded to offer me more than $4000. less than blue book for my trade-in. Needless to say we bought our 2011 Prius elsewhere. -- Mr. Balise, I would like to discuss with you a very disturbing sales practice that happen to my wife and I at Balise Toyota in Warwick R.I yesterday. On 4/18/2011 at 7:15 PM my wife was on www.truecar.com researching the purchase of a new Toyota Prius. She entered the vehicle information that she was looking for and was emailed a Price Certificate from TRUECar that states that Balise Toyota will sell us a Prius III with the navigation package and floor mat package for $25,998. The Price Certificate has been pasted to the bottom of this email. On 4/21/2011 my wife and I drove 29 miles to Balise Toyota and arrived at about 6 PM. We spoke with a salesman named Simon, explained to him what vehicle we were interested in and presented him with the Price Certificate. At that time he checked the Balise inventory on his computer and informed us that he had three Prius IIIs in stock. He then took my wife’s key so they could look at her trade-in, and went out and looked at her vehicle. After some amount of time he returned and informed us that he had just spoken with his manager and that Balise was no longer honoring the Price Certificates from TRUECar. I explained that we had just printed the Price Certificate three days ago and driven the 29 miles and could not understand how the program could be canceled within three days of emailing the certificate. I asked to speak with the sales manager and after a few minutes Simon and Bob returned. Bob stated that due to market conditions Balise was no longer honoring the Price Certificates and that based on the lack of car parts due to the events in Japan Balise is now getting as much money as they can for all of their cars. I expressed my concern that this appeared to be the classic bait and switch and Bob asked if I would like him to call his general manager to see if he would honor the price, I said yes. After a few minutes Bob returned and stated that the general manager would in fact honor the Price Certificate. Bob again explained that due to parts shortages Balise was maximize profits on all cars and in fact was now going to only offer the Prius for $1000. above sticker price. We thanked Bob for honoring the Price Certificate that we had printed three days prior and continued to work with the salesman. Simon again referenced the inventory on his computer and again stated that there were three Prius IIIs in stock, and my wife stated that she would like the black one. Simon said he was going to get the car and he would be back in a minute. After a few minutes Simon returned and stated that the black Prius was already sold and as a matter of fact there were no Prius IIIs in stock. So within approximately five minutes Balise went from having three Prius IIIs to having none. It was obvious from the look on Simon’s face that he was very uncomfortable with what was happening with respect to this sale. I requested a business card for the owner of the dealership and was told none were available. I requested the name, phone number and email address of the owner and was told that it was not available. I was given the name of William Camastro, but no direct contact information. When we arrived at home last night we check the Balise inventory online and found the following Prius IIIs, and they are still online this morning as I write this email. 2011 Toyota Prius III Stock #: TW523361 VIN #: JTDKN3DUXB0285916 2011 Toyota Prius III Stock #: TW523398X VIN #: JTDKN3DU4B0253009 2011 Toyota Prius III Stock #: TW523420 VIN #: JTDKN3DU0B0290512 Hopefully the events of last night were just misunderstandings of the employees that were working and not the intent of Balise Toyota. If the above vehicles are still available we are interested in purchasing one. Please respond to this email so that we know if Balise will honor the quoted Price Certificate shown below. My husband and I visited Balise while looking for a sedan and found the experience horrible! Their sales method is OBNOXIOUSLY pushy and a total turn off. Within a couple of minutes we decided that if we did and found the experience horrible! Their sales method is OBNOXIOUSLY pushy and a total turn off. Within a couple of minutes we decided that if we did buy a Toyota it would never be at this dealership! We had already researched the Camry and were only interested in a test drive for comfort comparison but had to endure intrusive financial questions prior to getting out of the building, two salesman "visits" to the back office, a show-and-tell before a plate would be put on the car, a ten mile drive by the sales person including countless "selling points", and an attitude because we didn't want the hard sell. Only THEN did we get to test drive the car! More
