I went to Bakersfield Mitsubishi on 12/13/23 to see if I could get a car in my situation. My credit is bad and at the time, I was drawing unemployment. I’ve been doing what I can to better myself and get ba could get a car in my situation. My credit is bad and at the time, I was drawing unemployment. I’ve been doing what I can to better myself and get back on my feet. I explained my situation to the salesman who I believe was Eddie. I gave my information and my mom who came to co-sign with me gave hers. I explained I wanted a vehicle that would put me at no more than $300 to $400 a month for payments. Eddie and Jesus, the sales manager, came back with an offer on a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage with a payment of around $600 a month. I asked if that was all they had or could offer and they basically said that was what they could do and it was a really good deal. I know what I told them in the beginning but I was convinced and just ready to have a more reliable car so I went with it. Fast forward about a month and I still hadn’t received my paperwork from the finance company. My mom called and it came out that the paperwork showed I was a teacher for a local school district, which I’m not. Neither I nor my mom said I was. That was a lie out there by someone. We don’t know who because when Jesus, Eddie, and Jackie the finance manager were confronted with it. They denied/ignored it and never admitted to it. Jesus tried to find another company to finance me. He did but later that day, he told me the company he found doesn’t take unemployment as income. I ended up taking the Mirage back to Bakersfield Mitsubishi because I didn’t have a choice. I got my old car back and when I went to leave, I saw they weren’t even considerate enough to fill my tank with gas. I will not return to Bakersfield Mitsubishi when I am in a better position to buy a car. Dishonest business practices, no dignity or integrity to admit they were wrong, no consideration to make it right, and not even so much as an apology. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere and I recommend you do the same. More
