Hello. As the tech started going through the inspection for the class action the tech noted that due to the in service date of the vehicle (9/11/2009) that it was expired from the class action coverage due to time (10 years/120,000 miles which ever occurs first). Christian called and spoke with you after this finding it and went over the situation. You requested a ballpark quote for the initial repair for the oil situation. He provided a quote for the valve guide seals only, He then advised due to the age of the vehicle it would most likely use/need additional parts due to them being worn and brittle coming out so the estimate was just an idea but if repaired you should consider the quote being higher. He advised that BMW doesn’t go through the inspection based on if the vehicle is just under the class action but BMW will perform the inspection based on a stated concern from a customer. Christian tried his best to explain our steps and protocol for the class action. If you'd like to discuss further, please contact Jeff Hughes at 440-845-9333. Thank you.

Hello. You came in with smoke coming out of the tailpipe and you didn’t have to pay for anything when it went through class action inspection and we found out your vehicle needs an engine. BMW will only pay a portion based on current vehicle mileage. We apologize we couldn't help you out any further.
