I've been a customer of the BMW of Towson Service Department for 13 years with 3 different vehicles and have always had a wonderful experience. Everyone in the entire service department has always been very helpful - from the guys who work the service lane to the folks in the loaner dept to the cashier and beyond. Every service advisor I've worked with has been very knowledgable and kept me updated with the progress of my service. Jack and Rich run a top notch service department that is second to none! Thank you! More

The An older 325 sedan was towed in because it didn't start, according to it's elderly owner, my mother. On arrival at the dealership it did start. The service department proceeded to (1) write up the towing bill by 50% and (2) present nearly $2000 worth of unnecessary items it recommended -- half the car's value, perhaps. Including four tires costing twice the price of Tire Rack, and with low reviews to boot. Negotiations to spring the car from the dealer required payment of a $150 for their work generating the giant unnecessary proposed service bill, and a 50% markup of the towing charges. The 50% markup was not revealed until I asked to see the receipt from the towing company. This looks opportunistic, greedy, commission-driven, and all around deplorable to me. More

I also bought the service package, which I was told would cover all routine maintenance expect for new tires when they were needed. I took my car in for routine service at ALL recommended intervals and I was under the impression that all recommended services were being completed. I was wrong. At about 30k miles I noticed that the front tires were wearing MUCH more than the rear, so at my 30k service appt, I asked when the tires were last rotated. I was told that the tires had NEVER been rotated, this was despite the fact that the car had been taken in for service at ALL recommended intervals. I was told that I had never REQUESTED a tire rotation, and this was not part of my service package, so it was never done. I was floored, I thought that the tires were being rotated at the routine service visits per the manufacturers recommendations (Kudos to the Nissan dealership where I made my prior new car purchase. They have never failed to rotate my tires at recommended intervals, and they did it for free). Never at one appt for routine service at BMW Towson, was I told that the tire rotation was recommended, but not included in my service package, and offered this service for a fee. I never turned down a tire rotation, it was literally never brought up by the service center until I inquired about the uneven tire wear. At that point, the tires were so unevenly worn that they needed to be replaced. The lack of tire rotation diminished the life of the tires, impacted performance of the car, and created a safety hazard. I feel like this is a scam, it is more profitable for the dealership to replace your tires more frequently than to perform the recommended tire maintenance. It also begs the question-- what other manufacturer recommended services are NOT being performed when I take my car in for routine service because I don't know I need to specifically request them by name. Very disappointing More
Couldn't have gone better I got an engine failure warning going to work one morning, drove my car straight to the dealership and it was smooth sailing from there. My service g I got an engine failure warning going to work one morning, drove my car straight to the dealership and it was smooth sailing from there. My service guy, Derrick, was super pleasant and helpful. I was able to get a loaner right away. They worked seemlessly with my extended warranty company and I was able to keep the loaner for days while the repairs where being done. Everything went smoothly without a hitch and everyone was very courteous and professional. Would highly recommend. More

He is extremely professional and knowledgeable while showing genuine interest and concern for me as the customer. When any customer goes into a dealerships with a car problem, he/she is generally frustrated and anxious to have the matter handled expeditiously. Mr. Myers does an especially fine job of explaining the issue and defining the options honestly. This level of communication from Greg Myers causes me to return to BMW Towson. More

This gripe is the result of the inability to obtain a loaner car for a recall service. I don’t feel that it’s the customer’s fault that the airbag is defective and takes an “hour” to replace. Unfortunatley, my current schedule does not allow for me to sit for a couple hours (usually longer than their claims) so I try to schedule mult appointments at once. Today I was informed that 2+ hours worth of service does not warrant a loaner car, even if it’s at the fault of the manufacturer. I’ve owned my BMW for almost 7 yrs and have been going to BMW of Towson since purchase and this is the first time in that time I’ve been turned away. Maybe Mr. McCormick is having a bad day or maybe the policies have changed. Either way, not cool. More

On her first BMW, a 528xi, she bought the tire replacement warranty. However, after a year they said they would no longer replace the tires on schedule, but would honor the warranty when the tires needed to be replaced. When the tires wore out, they refused to honor their promise, so I bought tires from Mr. Tire. I purchased Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires for her. The car's handling improved significantly. After less than 20,000 miles on the new tires, the service advisor said the tires needed to be replaced because they were "cheap Costco" tires that weren't any good anyway. The tires still had more than half their tread. When I heard this, I dragged the stupid arrogant xxxxxxx to the show room and showed him that these were the tires on the most expensive car in the showroom, a BMW M6. I said that I wanted to see the tires that had been taken off my wife's car and he refused, saying they already had been disposed of. I also said that I expected that the replacement tires be of equivalent quality. He said the tires he had installed were better than the Michelins. However, not only were the new tires he put on about 40 percent more expensive than the Pilot Sports, they also were complete crap. The car handled so badly that my wife no longer felt safe in it and traded it in. On another occasion, shortly after my wife's car went off warranty, it was in the shop at Towson BMW for routine service and the service advisor called saying the brake pads were worn 50 percent and should be replaced. He asked if I wanted him to do it. When I said no, he went into a long discussion of how important brakes are to the car's safety and tried to guilt me into "protecting" my wife's safety. For those of you that don't know, brakes typically are replaced when they are 90 to 95 percent gone and are perfectly safe until that point. Though my wife likes this dealership, I refuse to go there anymore. I bought a 328 at another Baltimore dealer and got about 13 percent off list price, My wife paid over list price for both cars she bought from Towson BMW. While she likes good service and is willing to pay for it, there is a fundamental difference between good service and honest service. Towson BMW is not honest. I strongly recommend that you visit another dealership to buy your car and even more strongly recommend that you visit another dealership to service your car. More
Upcoming service I received an email from a person from telling me my vehicle alerted them it was due for service soon, I tried to schedule to get a loaner an was told I received an email from a person from telling me my vehicle alerted them it was due for service soon, I tried to schedule to get a loaner an was told they do.not give out loaner cars for the service is less then 2 hours, then I asked for drop and pick up service but apparently that is not offered. I first time I was in for serice I was told 45 minutes and was there for 4 hours, the reason we bought a second bmw was for the loaner serice because I didn't have time to wait around or for the pick up service I had with my last bmw. I am not pleased at all and this is only my second time dealing with service after purchasing the car. I will most likely not buy another car at this dealership. More
