I am very pleased with the service I've had from Tischer. I moved to the area from Maine with my 'pet' BMW 750iL (1996), a great but very complex car. It has the V12 and I don't trust just anyone to work on it. Tischer did not treat it like an 'old' car but gave it the care a finicky guy like me wants. Kristina, the Service Manager I deal with most of the time is clearly 'into' cars and treated my car like the classic it was. They also diagnosed and repaired correctly a faint front end shimmy, did it right the first time. Many drivers wouldn't have noticed this imperfection and some shops would have said it was acceptable but Kristina knew I wanted it perfect and made it so. In Maine I had my own garage and did most of my maintenance because I didn't always trust someone else to do the work. Tischer BMW has my full trust. I traded my 1996 750 on a somewhat rare 2006 BMW 760Li, an even more complex care, still under warranty. On my first service visit the Service Manager noted some uneven wear on my tires and provided a free all-wheel alignment. I try to keep my cars in perfect condition and trust Tischer to do that. As I said, I am a very particular customer when it comes to my cars. I have dealt primarily with Kristina, who is excellent. I am pretty knowledgeable about these cars and she and I can have a very technical discussion about service and maintenance and she always has good advice regarding maintaining the car, things I didn't know. She is a 'car person'. Some dealerships I've been to in the past would have a Service Manager who is more of a administrative/management person and I would have a hard time explaining what I wanted done to the car because I knew more about the car than they did. Not so with Tischer. Tischer is a tough drive from where I live in Arlington and there are much closer BMW dealerships. I bought my 2006 760Li from Tischer because I wanted any warranty work that might come up done there and I wanted it done right. It is well worth the drive. So, I would say that if you are finicky about your BMW and want excellent and timely service go to Tischer. I am very happy with my service there. More

Overall it has been a positive experience. I was very happy when BMWNA picked up the tab for my subframe damage. Being a subframe repair, the dealership themselves did not handle the actual work - they h happy when BMWNA picked up the tab for my subframe damage. Being a subframe repair, the dealership themselves did not handle the actual work - they had to send it to their bodyshop. On the dealer side of things, all was fantastic. Everything from the consultations, to the updates were top notch and prompt. Gannon rapidly helped find my car in their lot after the car was parked by someone in the wrong spot. However the body shop, the place that actually did the repairs, was not as stellar. They first repaired it wrong, which put an additional delay of 2 weeks. This was important for the fact that towards the end I had to pay for a rental. Second, after getting the car back, my car has experienced a slight resonating vibration/sound going above 70mph. When confronted with the body shop with the problem, they said it was "absurd" to test the problem because of the speed. Basically they refused to diagnose and/or repair the problem. And Thirdly, since they essentially took the rear suspension off the car to repair the problem, they should have looked for worn parts like bushings and such. After receiving the car back, I am experiencing much more creaks from the differential bushing. I will soon need to get them replaced which requires the removal of the drive shaft, flanks, differential, and more. It has been a month or two and I am still getting the vibration/sound on the highway. I am still diagnosing it myself with the help of my local shop and will hopefully find a solution. More

My first experience wit Your review Dishonorable people doing poor jobs. Buyer Beware!? - Marsden? - Today This is a story that began in November. My first experience with Tischer was when I walked in to the dealership to ask a question of their service department. The service advisor who I encountered was incredibly short in his communications and acted as though I was bothering him. If not for the intervention of another service advisor I would have walked out right then. He seemed competent and helpful so I had them perform the repais to the logic 7 amp in my BMW 745i. In mid-December my check engine light came on and the car went into limp mode. I drove it straight to the dealership. I got a loaner car and upgraded to a car closer to the size of my BMW for an extra $20.00 a day. It was Christmas time so I had to drive my family to Florida. i was called on December 23d and told that my car would be ready on the 26th. I informed them that I couldn't get back to town until the 2nd. My service advisor insisted I would have to pay for the full price of the loaner the second my car was ready. I didn't hear from them until the 31st. My car was ready. I picked up the car on the 2nd. Paid my extended warranty deductible and left. My check engine light came on on the drive home. I left a message with Tischer and brought the car back that following Monday. They apologized profusely, told me they would fix the problem at no further cost to me, refunded the money on the loaner car they had made me pay for and gave me an upgraded loaner car. Once a week I got a call informing me that the problem had been fixed. They changed the computers, the valves, the wires, performed vacuum tests, more computers, each time charging my extended warranty company, sometimes Thousands of dollars. Each time they "fixed it" the next day i would be called and told that the check engine light was still coming on. Each time I said ok. As long as the warranty company was ok with it then I figured it was ok. Fast forward to February...yes February. I get a call saying they had exhausted all possible repairs outside the engine and needed a preauthorization for an $1153 tear down because it was considered diagnostic. I told them I wasn't wililng to pre-authorize a hunch on my dime since they had done so many "fixes" only to find out it wasn't the problem. I reminded them that I was told that the repairs would be completed at no further cost to me. At this time they started to level threats at me, demanding I return the loaner car because I was insisting they honor what they said they would do. It is now February 26th. My car is still not repaired, despite having received thousands of dollars from my extended warranty. Last night I received an email threatening to report my loaner car stolen, although i was given the car to use until my car was fixed. At one point the service manager told me that I mistakenly assumed that my car was repaired when I picked it up. Yeah...I laughed too. Anyway...long story short...these people are dishonorable. They lie, they break their word and when all else fails they resort to threats. In fact when I told them from now on I was recording our conversations so i had proof of our communications they hung up the phone. While the repairs have proven difficult, that doesn't relieve them of their obligation to keep their word and honor their agreements. I know that in this day and age the idea of the customer being right has gone out the window but it doesn't mean we should bare the burden at any and all times. My bottom line has a lot less wiggle room than theirs. These people obviously care much more about milking a repair for all they can than doing a good repair at the proper price and providing good customer service. If a company that provides good service and keeps their word is as important to you as the model of the car you drive, then I reccomend in the strongest possible terms that you shop elsewhere. More
