We asked for a close inspection of the vehicle while it was in for service because we were at the end of our warranty due to mileage. The vehicle was not handling well and we were concerned there was some was in for service because we were at the end of our warranty due to mileage. The vehicle was not handling well and we were concerned there was something wrong. We asked for a complete alignment and all 4 wheels balanced. Our service writer (Kevin Hull) called me and advised that the mechanic determined that all 4 wheels were bent and should not be balanced. We had purchased the wheel and tire warranty, which was still in effect. Kevin did not think there would be a problem, as my wife determined the damage occurred when she hit a milling ridge on I66. Unfortunately the warranty people, for reasons unknown, denied the claim unless the wheels could not be balanced. The mechanic was able to balance the wheels, but barely. On the test drive, he commented that car was not handling properly and the tires were making strange noises probably due to the bent wheels. Kevin Hull acted as our advocate in this situation and convinced the dealership to do what it takes to correct the problem. The dealership had the wheels repaired and covered the cost. The car drove like the day it left the showroom floor. You just can't ask for much more!!! This kind of customer support prompted us to renew our maintenance agreement with the dealership. More
After paying $4000+ for an extended warranty that "is exactly as the original warranty, bumper to bumper and covers all", this dealer weasled out of 3 of 4 service visits claiming "not covered". On top of that their Techs kept my car for over a month at one time to clear some noise from engine, OVER A MONTH! Lately they did some repair work and charged me over $1100.00 for it. This turned to be a recall and BMW North America contacted me to get in touch with dealer for a refund, this dealer rejected refund citing that since this is a federally mandated recal it has nothing to do with them and I have to contact BMW. This dealer is trouble and a waste of time and money, stay away! More
My 2008 BMW 535 was misfiring, so I took it in for a visit with Thomas Grant, my service advisor at BMW of Silver Spring. The initial diagnosis was that there were problems with two of the fuel injecto visit with Thomas Grant, my service advisor at BMW of Silver Spring. The initial diagnosis was that there were problems with two of the fuel injectors, so both "banks" of three injectors were replaced. On my way home from the appointment, the problem was improved but it was still present. I took the car back the next morning and -- because the problem was not fully resoved -- Thomas prioritized my care to be looked at first. Ultimately a coil and plug were also bad, so they were also replaced. The car now runs as good as new. While admittedly I was somewhat disappointed that the problem wasn't resolved in one visit, ultimately Thomas and his team took care of the issue to my COMPLETE satisfaction. Thomas has been my advisor for 18 months and his service has been outstanding every step of the way. Regarding my satisfaction with price, the car is still under CPO warranty. So all of the work cost me just the $50 deductible. I have a strong feeling that my first major repair that's NOT under warranty will yield a lower satisfaction score on price (this is my first BMW; for years now I've been spoiled by highly reliable Japanese cars such as my 2002 Accord V6 with 210,000 miles and only one repair beyond basic maintenance -- an alternator). I highlyl recommend Thomas Grant at BMW of SIlver Spring! More
