This dealership provided an insight A dealership truly displays their worth by the maintenance and customer care they provide after a vehicle is sold. This dealership provided an insight on how they truly value their customers. Pros: Performed necessary maintenance work as per the the work order submitted. Cons: Requested a loaner vehicle with appointment a few weeks prior. Still ended up waiting almost 30 minutes for a loaner vehicle. Received a call that my maintenance was complete and the vehicle will be ready within the hour. Showed up only to wait an additional 30 minutes for my vehicle to be ready. If you value your time I would think twice before taking your vehicle to this location for maintenance. Eitherwise, temper expectation for at least 30 minutes to be wasted when turning in your vehicle and picking up. I have spoken with the Service Dept. Manager and although he seemed displeased with the service his department provided, there were no solutions provided to correct this error in judgement by his team. I will look elsewhere for service and caution anyone who does go here. More

She assisted me when my regular Ms Rachel Rhea, Assistant Service Adviser, at BMW of Silver Spring was surprisingly helpful, upon first introduction. She assisted me when my regular Adviser was out sick. Rachel filled-out the diagnostic form on the computer, to investigate a problem with my car door, I received a loaner car and was on my way. He not only had the identified issues resolved effectively, but also proactively recommended replacing the engine sparks and the gearbox plate to rejuvenate the car's performance (since the issue-resolution labor hours covered the replacement ones). As a result, I now can comfortably use the car for long-distance travels, as well as start to recall how the car used to perform (esp. in the Sport mode). It’s apparently another preeminent customer service pinnacle delivered by Tom – he indeed takes care of your car as if the car is his personal vehicle. Highly recommended! More

After years of miserable, lackluster (and downright rude) "service" at Euro Motorcars Bethesda (which claims to be "among the best" luxury car dealerships... NOT!), I didn't hold high hopes when I switched from being a long-time Mercedes Benz owner to a BMW. Each service appointment at BMW of Silver Spring has been better than the last, if that's even possible. It all starts with the highly professional service advisor Thomas Grant, who provides invaluable, knowledgeable, trust-worthy guidance, and continues through the entire staff! Everyone from the folks who greet you when you drop off and pick up your car to the gentlemen in the car-loaner department. Each and every one is a pleasure to work with! They are not just courteous, but they go they extra mile to meet and surpass your requests/concerns/needs. It's not just a question of BMW vs Mercedes. The staff at BMW of Silver Spring are truly exemplary. After purchasing my car from BMW of Alexandria, I can assure you that not all BMW dealerships are created equal -- thus the reason I do not bring my car to Alexandria to be serviced! In fact, when it comes time to purchase my next car, I'll be sure to do so at BMW of Silver Spring -- and most likely it will be one of the zippy 4 Series convertibles that I've had the good fortune of driving as a loaner while my own BMW has been in for servicing! Headlight out and needed alignment - $115 to replace at $20 bulb - would have done it myself in 10 minutes but had issue with the headlight alignment. Guess I set my self up for this one... Check Engine Light on - $146 to read the code. Then they wanted another $219 to upgrade software. Only then could they tell me if the evaporative fuel system leak code was real or could be cleared. Why they could not run a simple smoke test without the software upgrade I don't know, but charging $146 to read codes is a new record! At that point I was done - did not go for the quoted $704 to replace an oil filter housing gasket or the $1245 to replace a valve cover gasket. Find yourself a good mechanic... Avoid this dealer at all costs. More
