My credit was ran without my permission. I paid cash and I wrote a check for the rest. When I saw days later that there was a hard inquiry on my credit report I asked the sale man why. He directed me to finance, who said it was ran before I went to his office to do the paperwork. He said it was ran by the sales manager to see if they would except my check. If my score had come back low, they would’ve directed me to get a cashiers check. I responded to both him and my salesman that I did not give my permission and had I been asked I would’ve just gotten a cashiers check because hard inquiries stay on your credit for years and actually lowered my credit score. I also mentioned at the time of purchase that I did not need to pay with a check and that we could run it on my debit card… I would just need to call my bank to release the funds first. He assured me that a check would be fine and mentioned nothing about having to run a credit check. I did not give my permission to run my credit. After I let them know that I was upset, I did not get a response from either one of them. I’ve been bombarded ever since with emails asking me to rate my experience and directing me to call if it’s anything less than a 10 out of 10 because they want to hear from me. I do not believe they want to hear what I have to say being that after I told them, I was left on red. This is a huge purchase that requires trust. I do not trust BMW of San Francisco, and I will not do business with them again. More
