We inquired about the excessive noise while driving and were told that this was normal for the 3 series. Later that year we dropped into a local tire dealer to have our tires rotated and they found that the right front wheel bearing was completely gone and that was where the noise was coming from. Then we had to replace all the coils in the engine and we received a recall for the air bag, which was 1 1/2 years ago, now just getting fixed. Then last month the heater/ defroster quit working. So we took it back to the dealership and we find out this is another recall item. The notice we received states that there is no remedy available. So we are making payments on a car we cannot drive, is still in the shop and will be till repaired and we are stuck driving a rental. Not too happy with BMW overall but the service department is amazing. Friendly and apologetic for the trouble we are having. Always steps up to help us get through the problem More

Battery died. I called BMW of Salem, told the service department I needed to have the battery replaced. They had my car ready the next day before noon. They recomme I called BMW of Salem, told the service department I needed to have the battery replaced. They had my car ready the next day before noon. They recommended a tow company who would deliver my car to them on Thursday. The tow company was not able to arrive at my address till 5:45pm. The driver assured me that my car would be safe in their care and would take my car to the dealer and leave it for Friday morning. The service department came to work Friday they started to work on my car. I received a coupon in the mail on Thursday from Salem BMW saying i f i would donate to the food drive they would give me a discount on the next service. When i picked up my car i was given another coupon for a rebate on the battery the dealership installed from the service department. I was very pleased to get my car back and save some money. I would recommend Salem BMW to my friends and any one who ask"s where do i get such excellent service? Thanks. Gary, Salem BMW! More

Tricky repair done to my specifications. My X5 4.8i had a tricky repair need that is very costly. The mechanics were up for an alternate repair method that cut the cost in half, and now is a serviceable part of the engine that can be redone later if needed even cheaper. Tim is always polite and respects my opinion on how to repair the car, I am very hands on and do most things myself, but when I can't, I will come here. The only disappointing thing I noticed is they didn't clean any of the parts before reinstalling them in the engine. And I'm not being overly critical here, they didn't even wipe them off. I was trying to keep cost down and they knew that so I understand, but still. More
