I started looking for a car to replace my 1998 Toyota Corolla several months ago. I also wanted a car that would be reliable and able to handle all sorts of weather. Efficiency and reliability were also important factors. I did a lot of on-line research and then began to contact dealerships. I contacted BMW of Salem and within two hours I received a return call from Mr. Brian Kemmerle. We talked for a few minutes and set up a time for me to see and test drive a 328i. No other dealership that I contacted was anywhere close to this response time. When I arrived at the dealership, Mr. Kemmerle impressed me with two things. One was his knowledge of the car he was selling. The other was how he was able to ascertain quickly what was important to me as a customer and what was not. During the test drive he was able to point out the relevant attributes of the car. I was quite impressed, but while the 328i all wheel drive model met a lot of my criteria, I was not quite happy with the efficiency as that was a high priority for me. I told Mr. Kemmerle that I wanted to think about this and we agreed to stay in contact. Mr. Kemmerle maintained contact with me via email every month or so and answered a couple of questions that I had. In August, he notified me that BMW was bringing a diesel version of the 328 to the US and since I was looking for a high-milage car I might be interested. I read numerous reviews of the European models and decided to purchase the car. I met with Mr. Kemmerle and he helped me sort through the various options for the car and at no time did I get the sense that he was tryng to "upsell" me. I found Mr. Kemmerle to be very helpful and informative and respectful throughout. He maintained communication with me in an unobtrusive manner. I recommend him and BMW of Salem very highly. More
Timothy (TJ) was easy going and not trying to make a hard sell. He worked outside of normal business hours to make testing and delivery simple. We knew we were going to buy a BMW before we started the online research. It really came down to 2 dealerships; both were BMW dealerships. The most significant factors were that the BMW dealerships provid online research. It really came down to 2 dealerships; both were BMW dealerships. The most significant factors were that the BMW dealerships provided the most accurate information concerning all options and conditions of the vehicles, the clearest detailed and quantity of photographs to review and most important, the speed in which they responded to our email request. However, only one dealership made the highest mark and that was Salem BMW. Here there is no ridiculous mark up's in the cost of their vehicles. The kind that make buying a car a process of "whittle" and "negotiate"and offer/counteroffer. Salem BMW was right up front about fair customer pricing, and I verified that by reviewing the online CARFAX reports (provided on their website), which report how high the overall mark up is over the suggested retail cost of the car. When we actually arrived at the dealership the time to select the car we wanted was made quick and easy by TJ Selby, who I would rank as one of the most easy to talk to and non-pressure sales persons I have ever met. Tie that in with Finance Manager Donald Newsom and our experience turned into the best buying experience we've had in 37 years. And that was before Don informed us BMW was offering 0.9% financing on BMW certified used cars (1.8% less than our preapproved bank loan). I'm not kidding when I say you want to take the whole staff out for pizza and beer for making it all so sweet of an experience. Thank you Salem BMW. We're done dealer shopping. More
I went to Salem BMW with my husband to pick up some paint for his Z3. A pretty red X3 caught my eye just out the front window! Brian suggested that we take it for a test drive. I first contacted BMW of Salem through an ad on the internet. Caleb Moore responded to my inquiry in a timely manner. He was very friendly and open to my schedule for looking at the vehicle. The finance staff was fairly epediant in getting us through the paper work and that allowed us to make another appointment we had that day. I would highly recommend working with Caleb. I went late one night to Salem BMW just to brows the new cars and see about replacing my older BMW. As I was looking at the cars an associate named TJ came out to greet me. He let me look at 2 of the cars I was interested in, while also talking to me about my wants and needs dealing with my old car and what I wanted to do. He spent an hour talking to me about plans and what he could do for me as a customer with my car and also what he could do for me upon getting a new one. After this process he was very attentive in keeping me in the loop and letting me know what was happening. The next day he sent me pictures of a new car that was everything I wanted. After I got that very BMW, TJ has kept up with me on how much I like the car and if saw anything or wanted anything else with the car. More

I wanted a new 3 series with as few bells and whistles as possible, as I treat this car as my little commuter car.... They left us alone to browse and when we were ready to test drive they took us on the best road test ever! The sale agent knew the car through and through. They gave exactly what we wanted on our trade in. It was a great experience to buy from this dealership. Dustin the finance mgr was great, as was our salesman Caleb. They definitely beat those high pressure , stuffy salesmen there in Portland. We will definitely buy our next car from them. More
