Poor communication - xx di I'm an 18-year bmw CCA member. Took used car for a pre-purchase inspection in late December. Very disappointing experience. Poor communication - xx did not response to multiple calls once he had the vehicle. Wanted to get some direct feedback on how the car felt during the test drive from the mechanic. Was not able to do so. As a result, I have some concerns about the car which I will have to evaluate myself. Kept the independent dealership employees who were picking the car up waiting b/c I hadn't paid - but I had called twice to try to pay the bill. Had to go around xx, the service advisor, to close out the books. Provided a very cursory inspection sheet - much, much less detailed than I was expecting (wanted the BMW CPO inspection that you can find on google, got a one-page green/yellow/red of just the major systems, with no metrics except tire depth). Just felt like a poorly run dealership, honestly. Would definitely not recommend to others doing a PPI. More
CAR DAMAGED DURING SERVICE!!! BEWARE!! I had brought my vehicle in for a routine service and upon completion, the tech and pulled my vehicle up to the pick up area. I was in the waiting are I had brought my vehicle in for a routine service and upon completion, the tech and pulled my vehicle up to the pick up area. I was in the waiting area and he informed it was ready. I went out and he had left my vehicle running with the driver's door open. Didn't think much of it and drove home. I got home and did whatever and came back out later to run some errands. As I approached my vehicle, I noticed a curl of paint/plastic hanging from the rocker panel. Upon further inspection, the rocker panel had numerous scratches around the jacking point. One of my wheel was nicked as well. I know what nicks and stuff are present on my vehicle and those were definitely not there prior to my service. I called the SA and informed him about this. He requested for pictures which I sent to him. He said he would follow up with me after discussing with the Service Manager. A few days later I called the SA back and he stated that the Service Manager reviewed camera footage and concluded there was not any evidence it could have happened. I tried to reach the Service Manager by phone and could not get through and he has not returned any of my messages. I will certainly drive an extra 20-30 minutes out of my way to have my vehicle serviced at a different dealership. For those of you that must bring your vehicles here for service, I would recommend taking an examination and adequate amount of pictures of your car in the drop off area prior to leaving it with them. Excellent Experience at South Shore BMW Our overall experience was Excellent. Our CA Bob Gunnarson went over and above from start to finish. Initially, we came to an agreement on a new 2015 X5 however we found that it sold while we were negotiating. He worked with the GSM Fred Shaw who diligently worked to find us a comparable vehicle in transit that they expedited to ensure we qualified for the December incentives. Lisa was very efficient and had us in and out of the finance office within 15 minutes. We also had a unique situation with our plates (from the 1960s) that we were transferring from our old Honda lease that required the runner to make an in-person appointment with both our insurance company and the RMV to get the plates transferred and vehicle registered. Thank you! More

I drove a distance just to order and buy my new car here! I rarely write reviews, but this was such a positive experience that I wanted to share. I have several other BMW dealers who are MUCH closer in proximity. However, a friend recommended South Shore BMW and boy, the amazing respect, professionalism, and fairness can not be surpassed. As a woman in medicine with little time to spare, I was treated with dignity not like an idiot. The order for my 2015 X6 was handled so smoothly it was like a dream. Many thanks to the entire team from the GM, sales advisor, Gregory Dolabany, (he actually seems to ENJOY delivering the car after the sale is done), and Lisa Miles, (the business manager), who did not try to sell me every aftermarket do-dad. I will continue to drive the extra distance to do business with a car dealership that really does make the experience a joy instead of a nightmare. Sorry every other Boston dealer, I really must commend South Shore, (who are now a bit closer to the highway exit), and worth the trip. More
Awful Sales Manager- Fred Shaw I just purchased a new BMW here and the sales staff was great to work with when purchasing my new vehicle. However, their sales manager, Fred Shaw, w I just purchased a new BMW here and the sales staff was great to work with when purchasing my new vehicle. However, their sales manager, Fred Shaw, was unbelievably rude, distrusting, and condescending. So much so, that I almost switched dealerships just because of him. If you do go here, be sure to avoid Fred Shaw. He was a very sour experience in what otherwise would have been a pleasant car buying process. More
I drove 225 miles to go to this dealer, because they had the vehicle I wanted. I was happy with the sales crew, happy with the pre-owned manager, the problems came when trying to register the car. Because o the vehicle I wanted. I was happy with the sales crew, happy with the pre-owned manager, the problems came when trying to register the car. Because of the way the Massachusetts DMV works, we had major problems. The MA DMV doesn't do temporary plates, and I needed to drive my trade in up to the dealer from NYC. So unless I got new plates, I'd be driving one of them with no registration. Problem was, nobody told me that. I drove up to the dealer to pickup my new truck, and the registration wasn't done for it. So I ended up driving my new vehicle 225 miles with no registration. Couldn't park it on the street without registration and inspection, so I had to rent a garage for it. Was hoping to have the registration the next day. Didn't happen. Day after, still nothing. Was promised it the next day, so I waited. It finally came, 5 days after I picked up the car. I "owned" a car for 5 days with no registration. Thats inexcusable. Completely illegal. Even worse, the car I bought was supposed to be Certified Pre-Owned, with however many checks on it. But on the trip home, she gave me malfunction warnings for the Tire Pressure Monitor system, had shuddering brakes, hinting at warped rotors, and finally the keyfob couldn't be recognized by the car. Why were these issues not found during certification? I want to recommend this dealer, I really do, so I'd recommend them to MA residents. For people who live in other states, I'd recommend staying away like the plague. In fact, I'd recommend staying away from ALL Massachusetts dealers until the state wakes up and starts offering temporary plates and registrations like the other 49. More
