John   You purchased a car at a different dealership which did not fit your needs, you then traded it on a new BMW we had, we offered you a fair market value trade in which you accepted. At no time did we force you to trade your trade your car in or buy a new car from us, your complaint of a $30,000 loss that we somehow caused is unfounded.   The registration difficulties stemmed from your unwillingness to pay the out of state registration fees Which we ended up paying on your behalf as you refused to provide us a check to cover them.   If you have any further items to discuss you contact me directly at the email address you recently used.         Avery Trumbo  General Manager  BMW of Rockland

Avery, Let’s be honest — calling this a “fair market value” trade is a stretch. A reasonable adjustment would have been 10–15%, not the massive gap I took on. Labeling that as fair is misleading at best. And to correct your statement — I never refused to pay the registration fees. I offered to pay over the phone, yet your staff demanded a blank check after I had already driven over an hour home. That’s not refusal; that’s your process being unreasonable and poorly managed. Your email reads as if I was somehow the problem here, when in reality, the lack of communication and transparency from your team is what created this situation. John
