I took my car to diagnose a vibration during acceleration. They said I needed a new transfer case and the repair would be over $6000. I asked my service advisor if they were sure because this is acceleration. They said I needed a new transfer case and the repair would be over $6000. I asked my service advisor if they were sure because this is a very expensive repair. She said they were 100% sure. Due to the cost of the repair I took the car for a second opinion. I took the car to a foreign specialist. They called me the next day to let me know the car is all set. It just needed a mount and fluid flush. Total repair was under $800. I have had my car back for almost a month now and it is running better than new. If I would have listened to the bmw dealer I would be out almost $7000. I called them back to advise of their misdiagnosis and get my diagnosis fee returned, but they wanted me to bring the car back to them to check it. The last people I want to touch my car is this service center. You usually take your car to the dealer because they are supposed to be the experts, but the truth is that they have unqualified techs working on very expensive cars. I will never bring my car back to this dealer for service and you shouldn't either. More
