ZERO stars. BMW of Newport needs to get their $h#♧ together so another potential customer isn't screwed over like my husband and I were. We received an email con BMW of Newport needs to get their $h#♧ together so another potential customer isn't screwed over like my husband and I were. We received an email confirmation that a vehicle was available along with an informational packet on said vehicle. We then called to ask about the vehicle. We were told the staff member that emailed us had left for the day. Fine. We had a conversation with Nick about the vehicle and said goodbye. After some discussion, my husband and I called him back to make an offer. He said he had to check with a manager so he called us back 5 minutes later and negotiated a price with us after checking not once but twice with said manager, who accepted our offer. I asked for email confirmation but was told, "We don't play games, we will sell you the vehicle at the price we agreed on." So, we were asked to give a $1,000 deposit to hold the vehicle. We obliged and agreed we would be down to view and close the deal 48 hours later, so long as our final "walk around" went smoothly. We were told the vehicle would be cleaned and fueled up, ready to go. We received a photo confirmation of the deposit and agreed upon price. Fast forward to the next day and Nick calls my husband to say the vehicle was actually already sold and that our deposit was refunded. Of course we xxxx well get our deposit back, but the point is we are very disappointed that the vehicle we've been searching for was never going to be ours. People make mistakes but your a dealership. Check your system to be sure you know what you're talking about before you take a thousand dollars from someone and have them thinking they're about to get the vehicle they've been wanting. Needless to say we will never be customers of BMW Newport and we will share our story with friends and family so they can avoid such incompetence and possibly shady behavior. More
