This review will likely fall on mostly deaf ears, because the retirees with more money than concern, will continue to blindly take it to this dealer and spend too much money on poor service. However, if you' the retirees with more money than concern, will continue to blindly take it to this dealer and spend too much money on poor service. However, if you're like me and work hard for your money and do lots of research before deciding to take it to a dealer, then this information is for you: First visit: I purchased custom wheels and tires from TireRack and had them shipped directly to BMW of MB service department. Made an appointment to have them mounted, balanced and the car to have an alignment. They did the work but stated that the factory BMW tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) would not fit the aftermarket wheels. Dang it...I had a feeling that might happen. I go back and purchase TPMS from TireRack that are already programmed for my car and are guaranteed to fit. I take them back to BMW of MB and they tell me that they don't fit and even show me a video how the gap between the sensor and the wheel is huge and the monitor won't stay in place. So, they charged me $40 to tell me "they don't fit" and send me on my way. Second Visit: I show their service video to TireRack and a rep from TireRack informs me that they have "crush washers" and are designed to clamp down onto the rim as you tighten them down. I took them to another local tire shop, and they installed them with no trouble. I then took that information back to BMW, and the service manager (Bryan) stated that his service technicians deal in "BMW parts only and wouldn't have that specific knowledge of this aftermarket part". Fine, he agrees to turn the $40 I paid for no reason, into a credit towards a future service visit. Third (and FINAL) Visit: It's time for tires and an alignment once again. I take it to BMW specifically, because they are the only ones in my area that I know that can perform a weighted alignment. I had to schedule my appointment over a month in advance for the opportunity to use a "complimentary loaner" that they advertise. That's fine. When I arrive on the morning of my appointment, I'm sitting around for 20-25 minutes while they "find a loaner for me". I sat there while an employee had to put air in all 4 tires, and asked me if it was alright that it only had 1/4 tank of gas. Why isn't this thing ready for me before the day even starts? Whatever. Drop my car off, tell them I'm just going to be at work for the day, and I get off around 4pm. I watch the service writer put a note on my work order, "Have ready by 3:30pm". On my way to work, the TPMS light comes on in the loaner. It says the driver's rear tire is 20lbs low, and I just watched them fill up all 4 this morning. So the loaner has a leaky tire? Awesome. Stop at a gas station and fill it up so I don't damage the wheel on their loaner. I actually had to stay late at work that day, so I didn't make it back to the dealer until 4:45pm. He states that the front tie rods were completely seized up and "they were afraid they may snap the bolt if they try". So, in the end, I only get a two wheel alignment for $200 - the rear tires. They ask me if I would like it washed...sure, why not. I sit in the waiting room for 20 minutes before they come back and get me and tell me that they didn't realize the car wash was closed, but my car was finished. Normally, I couldn't care less about them washing the car after they're done, but after this visit, I finally see why it should probably be mandatory! I guess the technician ate a butter sandwich before working on my car. There's greasy finger prints all over the door, the hood, the fender, and I can feel the grease on the steering wheel too. Worse yet there is a large buildup of "green slime" all over each wheel. I go back in and ask for a paper towel to at least make sure the stuff comes off the wheels. They come out and hastily do a quick wipe down of the wheels to at least make sure I don't sling it all over the vehicle on the ride home. I also mention that the loaner has a nail in the tire or something, because I had to fill it up on the way to work, and again before I left work to return to the dealer. No apology. No refund for the money spent at two different gas station air pumps. No concern for missing the deadline by 2 hours. Mount 4 tires and alignment and you can't get it done between 8am and 5:30pm?! I realize you prioritize service calls, but does it have to come right down to the wire? I left at 5:25pm and they close at 5:30pm. Oh yea, they claim they applied the $40 credit from my second visit to this service call, and only charged me $160 to mount the tires. TireRack lists the BMW of MB Service Dept at $35/tire. Well, if you do the math, if it wasn't for my "$40 credit" (listed no where on my invoice) then it's $50/tire. Even by their own website, buying tires directly through them, it's $55.50/tire. By all version of the math, it's a complete ripoff. I informed TireRack of the discrepancy, and they are apparently going to reach out to try to make it right...I won't hold my breath. Oh yea, and when I get home I put the car up in the air and check the front tie-rods. Both are bone dry and have tool marks on the outside of the hex nut. Two squirts of PB Blaster and I use the correct torque bit that fits directly into the head of the adjustment screw head and they both twist loose with ease. This dealer must be struggling to find competent mechanics... just another reason to go somewhere else. More

Went to dealership twice to test drive a BMW. No one offered to wait on us so we finally scheduled an appointment over the Internet. Even then no one was watching for us to pull in for the scheduled tes offered to wait on us so we finally scheduled an appointment over the Internet. Even then no one was watching for us to pull in for the scheduled test drive and had to go inside to track someone down. Sales associate came along for test drive. After test driving negotiations began. It was a cash deal with no trade. Sales associate said he'd knock off $600 doc fee. We told him we'd take the car after him telling us that. When papers were sent the $600 was taken off, but then added back on. After looking over the papers, we told the sales associate we'd give the price we agreed on while negotiating in the lot, but after consulting with someone (probably the sales manager) he said they wouldn't take the price we agreed on. We truly think the sales manager didn't like the sales associate taking off the $600 doc fee so they thought they'd play games by adding it back on. Bottom line is they didn't back up the sales price we were told and we agreed to. Tried playing games by adding the $600 back on to the sales price and we didn't go for their games. When asked why they added the $600 back on to the price, the sales associate became tongue tied and couldn't come up with an explanation--just kept saying we were getting the agreed upon credit. Any idiot could see that they were playing games. Treated us like fools! We didn't purchase the car. Wouldn't recommend this dealership for this reason. Glad we didn't purchase because we're finding the same vehicle and just as nice for lower prices. Look around before purchasing here. Don't be their fool/s! More
EDITED 8/26/21: After not hearing from BMW of Myrtle Beach after my complaint and them not calling me to tell me the part they ordered was in even though they stated they "would still like the opportuni Beach after my complaint and them not calling me to tell me the part they ordered was in even though they stated they "would still like the opportunity to assist you in the future and can and will prove that we can meet and exceed expectations" I went ahead after 2 weeks of waiting and scheduled it to be repaired with Rick Hendrick BMW in Charleston and all I can say is WOW they crushed it! Appointment was at 8am, car was taken back at 8am work was done and part was fixed. What was going to take Myrtle Beach BMW 2 trips (if they ever even called me) was done in 1 trip and 1 hour at Rick Hendrick's BMW of Charleston and with better customer service and attitude! The next BMW I buy will definitely be from Rick Hendrick BMW! I had an 8:30 “appointment” that was scheduled 4 days in advance requesting a broken seat belt latch fix and an oil change. When I arrived at 8:30 I was asked when I needed the car back and I stated by the end of the day (on the assumption that I was going to get the above work completed). The car was parked at 8:45am and was not touched until after I texted them at 2:50pm. The car then moved at 2:55pm and then again started moving at 3:59pm. The car then proceeded to be driven 2.8 miles with a top speed of 53 mph in a 35 mph zone and had 3 hard braking alerts (over 10mph decelerating speed per second). I was then told the car was ready for pickup. Having this knowledge I requested a manager to be present as this is clearly not how BMW does this I thought to myself. Wrong!! I was told that if the car had gone 70mph that it would’ve been a bigger deal and that the technician needed to test things (don’t forget they sent me a video stating the brakes were at 7mm and 9mm respectively and were in great shape so not sure what there is to test). Also stated I had to wait literally all day for just an oil change as they didn’t have the seat belt part in stock and needed to order it. I asked why the car didn’t move for 6 hours for an 8:30 appointment but was told that I said I needed it back by the end of the day when I checked in so they put others in front of mine. Not sure what the point of appointments are at this dealership then. I’ve contacted corporate and will also be filing additional complaints with the BBB. Oh and so let’s not forget I had to pay $164 for the oil change that took 8 hours to do. This dealership is a joke and the actually want me to come back! More
While visiting Myrtle Beach, and in preparation for my February 2022 lease expiration, I entered this dealership simply to browse. Michael Maely met us at the door, and was amazing to work with. He was February 2022 lease expiration, I entered this dealership simply to browse. Michael Maely met us at the door, and was amazing to work with. He was so helpful and responsive to our questions and offered us such a great deal, that the next day I flew back to NY, picked up my trade-in, drove back to Myrtle Beach, and drove out with a beautiful new convertible three days after I walked in. I wouldn’t have done this were it not for the experience provided by Michael. I recommend him highly, and since we’ll probably be moving to the area within the next three years, I look forward to working with him again. More
