Rude and patronizing service I mistakenly made an appointment at another BMW dealership down the freeway to return my BMW at end of lease. I walked inadvertently into BMW Murieta I mistakenly made an appointment at another BMW dealership down the freeway to return my BMW at end of lease. I walked inadvertently into BMW Murieta where I thought I had the appointment and was met by Joe Garcia, "leasing retention specialist," as described on the company website I was later to discover. Mr. Garcia asked if I had an appointment. Thinking I had, I said yes. He responded that he had no record of it and was about to leave for his afternoon break and would be back in an hour or so to be followed by at least 20 minutes of paperwork preparation. Clearly he had no intention of delaying his break for the 20 minutes necessary to process the car in. "You do know you have to make an appointment, don't you?" "Yes, I did make an appointment, mistakenly I see now at BMW Riverside even though I had the pre-inspection done here." "Did you lease the car here?" he goes on, "No", I said. He turns the heat up: "We don't have to accept cars we don't lease, you know". This I find confusing, "But you called me every few days for weeks emploring me to bring the car here for a pre-inspection in preparation for end of lease return, and I did." "Yes, you did, I remember." "And I told you then to make an appointment for the return.... Didn't I tell you that?" "You probably said that", I said, "but it was my son who brought the car in for the pre-inspection, not I." "I like to deal with the owner, not somebody else", he said. Now things click into place. He is behaving like I have made a personal affront to him and owe him an apology, and it is obvious now that his only interest in getting me in was to lease me another car and that processing my lease return is an annoyance to him. At this point I have had quite enough, "You know" I said, perhaps inexcusably adopting his own rude tone, "I am not here to serve you. Isn't it the other way around? Please go take your afternoon break and I'll leave now" I walked out vowing to myself never to do business of any kind with BMW Murieta from here on out. I followed up with an email to the manager offering to discuss my experience in a serious gesture to help prevent future such unfortunate transactions for others. Discouragingly, the manager never responded to my email. From all appearances, regard for the customer's well-being is not a part of the BMW Riverside culture. Update: Today I took the car to that BMW dealership down the road - BMW Riverside - where I was treated in a courteous and businesslike manner, regardless that I did not lease the car there either. Riverside BMW will get my future business as they have on two previous leases. The people I dealt with did not seem to be aware that I had done business there previously; rather, they seemed genuinely interested in making this solitary exchange a pleasant and efficient one. It's a 120-mile roundtrip for me to BMW Riverside compared to 30 miles to and from BMW Murieta, but it's a small price for civility and pleasant discourse. More
I drove all the way from Huntington Beach to buy this car & so happy I did! Dave was amazing...very like able, personable, kind & a great salesman. Excellent Salesmanship My Wife and I came into the dealership to look for a replacement vehicle, our sales person Ladarrious was extremely easy to work with he was more like My Wife and I came into the dealership to look for a replacement vehicle, our sales person Ladarrious was extremely easy to work with he was more like a BMW concierge he didn’t try to sell us at every turn he mainly tried to answer questions and show us around the dealership at the end of everything we not only bought one car but we ended up buying two, maybe because he was just that good or could it be that my wife is the world’s greatest copy kat, either way I would recommend our sales person Ladarrious and our Finance manager Siaki both made this process super easy and complete. Thanks again BMW Murrieta for making this an easy transition taking such great care of us during the process. More
My wife and I had an absolutely awesome experience working with Dave Townsend over at BMW of Murrieta. We were initially supposed to be replacing a car that we lost in an accident and through the outg working with Dave Townsend over at BMW of Murrieta. We were initially supposed to be replacing a car that we lost in an accident and through the outgoing and overall accommodating approach extended by Dave, we ended up picking up 2 cars! Dave was easy to talk to and very attentive to the needs of my family and through sheer determination and extensive knowledge about the cars and finance, he made this lofty dream of ours a reality. I cannot say enough positive about this experience and this Man. If you are looking into getting a great car, working with a phenomenal dealership and working with an amazing person, you can literally check all 3 of those boxes by purchasing a BMW or 2 from Dave Townsend at BMW of Murrieta.
