We had been looking at several dealerships for a BMW (not 100% sure if we wanted to buy yet, but just wanted to get the feel of them) and decided that we would stop at BMW of Montgomery on our way home to look at a car we had seen online. Being only 25 years old, the dealerships that we had stopped at earlier in the day did not really pay us much attention when we arrived. The sales reps at other dealerships looked down on us due to our age and figured that we were not serious buyers. We were growing more and more frustrated as the day went on until we decided to stop at BMW of Montgomery on our last stop before we headed back to Mobile. When we arrived at BMW of Montgomery, they were obviously very busy (Saturday afternoon), several other customers were talking to sales reps and were looking at other cars. We went over to the pre-owned section and started to look around. Not five minutes had passed and I saw Danny come walking out of the office and across the parking lot to greet us. Danny immediately introduced himself and apologized that all the sales reps were tied up with other customers, but he would be more than happy to answer any questions that we had. Danny is director of pre-owned sales and at most dealerships these managers tend to stay in their office, especially when they see a 25 year old looking at a BMW. But not Danny, he did not know my age and did not know if I had the money to buy the car today or not, but he didn't care. His goal was to treat me like I was a VIP and that is exactly what he did. We immediately started talking about the car I was looking at and his knowledge of BMWs immediately showed. I told Danny that I had one question about the car, "Can I drive it home today", without hesitation he said "absolutely". We grabbed the keys and jumped into the car for a test drive. After our test drive that included interstate driving we made our way into Danny's office. We immediately did not feel pressured but felt like we had known Danny for years. He wanted to know about us, wanted to engage in conversation not just about cars but wanted to get to know my wife and me on a personal level. I think we talked for 30 minutes before we even got down to talking about the car, which we enjoyed. Knowing this was a very big decision for us, he let us step out of his office and talk to each other in private (we did this 3 times). During this whole visit we felt completely comfortable. Every sales rep, employee, and manager, that saw us smiled and said "hey!". No one cared about our age, they just wanted us to feel welcome and make sure we had a true experience while we were at their dealership. I looked Danny in the eyes, with the peace and confidence you can only have when you feel you are purchasing a car from someone you truly trust, and told him I wanted to purchase the car today. We got down to the paper work, but not before Danny printed out the carfax report and all the maintenance records on the vehicle and went over everything with me. I know this is something I should have asked for beforehand but he caught my slip up and made sure that I had everything I truly needed to know about the car. Danny did not just jump into the sale as soon as I told him I wanted it, he continued to sell me on the car by explaining everything to me. Danny educated me on the process that was going to take place so I knew what to expect. As we started the sales process, Aquan walked in and introduced himself. Aquan, just like the rest of the guys had been extremely busy today. He did not let it show on his face that he had not taken a break for hours, and he did not let it show on his face that, I am sure, he was exhausted. He was the first sales rep to become available since we had arrived and immediately came to take over the sale from Danny since Danny, being the director, does not typically make sales and was extremely busy helping the other sales reps. Aquan was a very sharp guy, and very observant. My wife asked Danny if she could get a cup of coffee and immediately Aquan said "let me show you how to work the coffee maker it can be kind of tricky sometimes". He walked her over there and made her fresh cup of coffee. While they stepped out of the office Danny explained that Aquan would finish up our sale if that was alright with me. I had immediately liked Aquan also, so it was a smooth transition. We walked into Aquan's office and he went over everything Danny had already told us, just to make sure we understood. He wanted to make sure everything about our experience was perfect. Aquan did not assume anything, he explained thoroughly everything to us again. By this time it was already about 7:00 pm, Closing time. Not a single light was turned off, not a single door was locked in that dealership because we were still in there. I profusely apologized that we were keeping them so late and they just laughed and apologized that there were so many people ahead of us that the paper work was getting backed up! Aquan did not leave our side as we waited. Everything had been done except the final paperwork (which is finished up by the business manager,Mick Williams). Aquan could easily have said "It's Saturday night, nice to meet you guys. Mick will finish you up", but he didn't. Aquan stayed with us showed us some of the new BMWs they had recently got in. We started talking about cars, because I am big car guy. I enjoyed getting to know Aquan and he, like the rest of the crew there, did not make my wife feel left out either. We made our way into Mick's office around 8:00 pm. This is where we sign everything pay, and have the option for maintenance plans, tire protection, etc etc. Mick was supposed to be leaving to go out of town when he got off work. That did not matter to him, he gave us the same exact care and attention he would give to the first customer of the day. Just like Danny and Aquan, he did not skip over anything. He did not try to speed up the process because it was past closing time. I bought the protection plan....all of them! After we finished up it was 9:00 pm or probably later. I was exhausted, my wife was exhausted, and I am sure every single sales rep and manager that had been helping us was exhausted as well. We were ready to leave, but Aquan jumped into the passenger seat and said "I want to go over some stuff with you about your new car". My car had just come around from being detailed and filled with gas, even though it was spotless when we first got there and test drove it. I told Aquan that I had owned a BMW before and I was sure I could figure everything out. He didn't care, he was going to finish his job with a smile on his face and explain everything to me like he would every customer. He showed me stuff I did not know about on that car, which would have taken me some time to figure out. Every single person that had been helping us was STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP when we pulled out. Not a single person that had worked with us left because it was hours past closing time, or because they were tired. Everyone shook our hands as we walked out and congratulated us on our new BMW. I cannot thank these guys enough for all they did. It was truly a privileged to meet each and every one of them. My wife and I go to Birmingham frequently to visit her eye doctor and I know I will be stopping in Montgomery to visit these guys. Even if it is just to say hey, I feel like I have made new friends. I will without a doubt purchase another car from this dealership. I have complete and total confidence in these guys, I would let them sell a car to my mom and not feel like they were taking advantage of her. If you have read this entire review I sure hope it has been helpful. Let me first tell you guys that I have been in sales for years, and I am currently a Director of Sales for the company I work for. Don't read this and think that I just got played by a friendly salesperson because I can assure you that it is not the case. I am very used to salesmen and saleswomen and I can assure you, these guys were not the slimy car salesmen that you think of, or that you see in movies. These guys are truly genuine and made our car purchasing experience unforgettable! If you want to purchase a car, you can go to any dealership, if you want to purchase a quality car and experience the joy and excitement that can come with it I encourage you to visit BMW of Montgomery, you will not be disappointed. I do not work for, or know anyone that works for this company, and this was my first visit to BMW of Montgomery. Like I said before, I have worked in sales for years. I know that most people do not write reviews unless they are upset. I was so overwhelmed with the excellent customer service that I felt everyone should know. Bought my X5 here in 2010, an plan to buy my next one the end of this year. Have had excellent service both times. After one month of paying for this car the dealership hasn't sent me a title. I've called them several times and all they give me is a run around. Since I've contacted the Alabama Attorney General hasn't sent me a title. I've called them several times and all they give me is a run around. The service reps were unwilling to provide updates as to why it took 2 days for simple oil change and minor recall fixes. They do not offer a loner car. NOT up to BMW standards.
