So were the other staff members that helped me on my visit. I had brought in my 328i for a service engine light. I left the car over night and they gave me a loaner for the evening. I ended up with a 2015 i3. Boy that was fun! The next day Jeff explained to me that they had found several things that needed to fixed and laid them out according to priority. He gave it to me straight and I really appreciated that. I wasn't sure if my warranty would fix the items so I thought it best to leave it there one last night in case the warranty did covers the fixes. I was able to take another loaner for the night 2015 320i this time. Super nice car, not as much fun as the i3 though. The repairs did not end up being covered, but I opted to do them myself. The next night after I had picked up my 328i I popped the hood to have a look at some of the items I'd need to fix. I noticed that all of the covers and debris shields were missing. No doubt still at BMW. I called and left a message. Right away in the morning I had Jeff and another representative from BMW call and text me to help find a solution while I was at work. I explained to them that I was leaving town right after work and that it would be a big inconvenience to drive out to Minnetonka. Especially during rush hour. They came out to my work in Golden Valley in the late morning, had it fixed and filled with fuel by the time lunch rolled around. That's what I call great service! Even though there was that miscommunication between the advisor and the mechanic about replacing the items under my hood they more than made up for it. Definitely will need a return visit. More

I first called Motorwerks in Bloomington because they’re closer to where I work – they were no help, and insisted on doing a diagnostic first (we all know what that means…$$$) regardless of what the issue might be. I had a brake fluid flush scheduled at an independent shop near my home so I held off and asked them to check it out --they suggested I take it to Minnetonka. I've had my car to the dealership on one other occasion and was very impressed so of course I'd go back. Instead of simply sending my car back to the service center they diagnosed the problem on the spot, fixed it, and when I asked for the invoice said "it's on us." That is how you build customer loyalty! The folks down the road on 494 should take a cue (or get a clue). The Wayzata location is in the complete opposite direction from where I live and work, but I’ll gladly go out of my way to bring my car to them. More

Please focus on the "care and feeding" of your staff and they will respond in kind to ensure your success. I have worked with Alex Tamarkin and Craig Haggerty for 15 years, and both are excellent. During that time, I have purchased/leased 21 BMWs from these gentlemen combined, and sincerely value our relationship. In addition, I have referred 6 individuals who have purchased/leased vehicles from Minnetonka. I place a great deal of importance on relationships and the fact that this dealership is locally owned and operated. In addition, I appreciate your continued support of Children's Hospitals and Clinics. Vehicle service is very important to me and I receive great care from Jeff Kotnour, Tim Hammond, Robert Holm, and Darcy Whiley. I look forward to meeting you and building on the relationship I have enjoyed with your staff. Russ Nelson More

Went to the parts department to pick up a part I have previously called in on and had put on hold. was there waiting in LINE for 30min and still not helped. Cashier isn't doing anything and just says par previously called in on and had put on hold. was there waiting in LINE for 30min and still not helped. Cashier isn't doing anything and just says parts peron is busy, please wait. Called the manager to complain afterward, no answer or call back. Definitely not going there again. No wonder they are always behind Motorwerks BMW. Pick up my parts at motorwerks without waiting. They actually have more than 1 parts person! Big NO on recommandation! More

I would not recommend this dealer to anybody. In Feb 2010 I purchased a 550GT which I love. However, in Dec 2010 the battery light on the dashboard came on. I took the car to the service department and I was told that the battery was drained and I needed a new battery which costs $480 installed. Because the battery is so "smart" it will not recharge itself during regular driving, but needs to be replaced and the battery's computer needs to be synchronized with the car's computer. Supposedly all service and regular maintenance is covered by BMW for 3 years which is a major reason I bought this car in the first place. I was also told that the car computer showed that various auxiliary instruments run for a total of 177 minutes with the engine turned off and this is what caused the battery to go bad. I never sit in my car with the radio on, and the car is stored in a heated garage both at home and at work. I requested a call from BMW customer service. This employee was rude and condescending. I also received routine follow up emails from the dealership principal asking me how my experience was. I replied to his email describing my unhappiness and also copied the new car sales manager as well as the salesman who sold me the car. Five months after I sent those emails I still have not received a response from anybody. More
Recently I brought my 10 year old BMW in for a 4 wheel alignment. Both Andy and Florence in the Service Write Up area were very pleasant and knowledgeable, taking time to answer my questions, and listen s alignment. Both Andy and Florence in the Service Write Up area were very pleasant and knowledgeable, taking time to answer my questions, and listen sincerely to my concerns as I am very meticulous about how my car is serviced, who drives it, what kind of car wash it goes through, etc. As a BMW enthusiast, and a car owner that performs many BMW repairs, I was VERY pleased to find out that this dealership allowed me in the shop to discuss my car with the mechanic as he inspected and performed the alignment. Once back in the shop, Kevin was not only very thorough in his inspection, but very trained and skillful as well, pointing out things about my car that had taken me 3 months of ownership to discover. (I've been under the car 4 or 5 times myself for various repairs). After the inspection, my car was moved to the alignment rack, where Kevin went to all 4 wheels several times to dial the car perfectly back to factory alignment specifications. Also, the people in parts really know BMW's - they can find most any part (even those hard to find clips) in about 40 - 50 seconds. One really cool thing about BMW of Minnetonka’s parts department is that they carry some high quality after market components such as short shift kits and sports exhaust systems. Bottom Line: Some people might balk at spending $160 for a 4 wheel alignment, but when i look at the quality of work that was performed on my car, the care i was given as a customer, and all the expertise and knowledge imparted to me during the process, i actually felt like maybe the price was a little low. While I’ll need a few more experiences with this dealership to give an un-qualified recommendation, I can certainly say that with this one experience, I for one will be returning for additional services and parts in the near future.
