I didn't buy a car here, nor would I! The employees were not friendly and had a superior attitude. I test drove a BMW 3 series and really liked it. I sat down to work the deal and the salesperson told not friendly and had a superior attitude. I test drove a BMW 3 series and really liked it. I sat down to work the deal and the salesperson told me they put the wrong price on line so I would be getting a "great" deal by purchasing it for full advertised price. They also told me they would be raising the price on line. I checked and even a week later the car still had the same price as before. If you want a BMW go to Motorwerks in Bloomington! More
The good: After the salesperson came to help me they were friendly and made the car shopping experience low key. The Bad: I had to have the front desk page people to help me and waited way too long consider friendly and made the car shopping experience low key. The Bad: I had to have the front desk page people to help me and waited way too long considering the amount of sales people standing around or sitting at their desks eyeing me to see if I was worthy of getting help from the most fabulous BMW dealer on earth. The car I came in to see was priced well online and that brought me in from some miles away to check it out. When I arrived I noticed some strange things on the car like the drivers side headlight was wet inside and there were some heavy scratches all along the pass. side and the tires were almost to the wear indicators. I still took it for a test drive. I thought it drove decent so I tried to make a deal by trading in a loaded, very good condition and lower mileage, high resale car from Japan. I was given the lamest trade offer because they said they can get my type of cars at the Manheim auction, it was an offer below poor condition(kelley,NADA etc...) on my car. Come to find out through the carfax (had to ask 2x to see it) their car I was interested in was in an accident and wasn't fixed correctly (ex)Voice Nav. w/ bluetooth not working $6,180. repair cost and pwr lock on one door failed, water in headlight and broken interior parts hidden in storage bin, scratches etc... and they wouldn't budge on the price. I was totally turned off on their car and dealership at any price. I think if I didn't question their car and just assumed it was decent based on there comprehensive check list on used cars they would've been happy to cheat me on my trade and leave me repairing their car if I bought it. I was also told that they are going to sell their unrepaired car for sale at the Maheim Auction because of its condition. There are other dealers out there and they may not have the extreme overhead issues that this dealer has. Consider them first. Take a look at this dealership on line its a car dealership NOT a museum. I don't need a movie theatre in the dealership to feel important while waiting to get my car serviced for a rediculous amount of $$. More
I've been to this dealer three times to gather information on a new purchase. I've sent emails to the staff as well. I have not had one reply and at no point has one salesperson approached me, rat information on a new purchase. I've sent emails to the staff as well. I have not had one reply and at no point has one salesperson approached me, rather they looked at me, stared for a bit then walked away. Apparently they are all image driven and judge people based on appearance. I do not feel the need to car shop in a suit, don't blame me for being young, successful and having money. Perhaps, that is why I'm buying and they're selling. Either way, when I go into a dealer I refuse to beg for help spending a rather large sum of money. In short, if you feel you are better than everyone else and exude that image, this may be the dealership for you. If you're a normal human-being, go elsewhere. I've owned about every luxury brand at some point or another and I have never had an experience like this when walking into a dealer. The sad part is, these people never seem busy. Hard to justify having all these people on staff for no apparent reason. More
I would not recommend this dealer to anybody. In Feb 2010 I purchased a 550GT which I love. However, in Dec 2010 the battery light on the dashboard came on. I took the car to the service department and I was I purchased a 550GT which I love. However, in Dec 2010 the battery light on the dashboard came on. I took the car to the service department and I was told that the battery was drained and I needed a new battery which costs $480 installed. Because the battery is so "smart" it will not recharge itself during regular driving, but needs to be replaced and the battery's computer needs to be synchronized with the car's computer. Supposedly all service and regular maintenance is covered by BMW for 3 years which is a major reason I bought this car in the first place. I was also told that the car computer showed that various auxiliary instruments run for a total of 177 minutes with the engine turned off and this is what caused the battery to go bad. I never sit in my car with the radio on, and the car is stored in a heated garage both at home and at work. I requested a call from BMW customer service. This employee was rude and condescending. I also received routine follow up emails from the dealership principal asking me how my experience was. I replied to his email describing my unhappiness and also copied the new car sales manager as well as the salesman who sold me the car. Five months after I sent those emails I still have not received a response from anybody. More
Recently I brought my 10 year old BMW in for a 4 wheel alignment. Both Andy and Florence in the Service Write Up area were very pleasant and knowledgeable, taking time to answer my questions, and listen s alignment. Both Andy and Florence in the Service Write Up area were very pleasant and knowledgeable, taking time to answer my questions, and listen sincerely to my concerns as I am very meticulous about how my car is serviced, who drives it, what kind of car wash it goes through, etc. As a BMW enthusiast, and a car owner that performs many BMW repairs, I was VERY pleased to find out that this dealership allowed me in the shop to discuss my car with the mechanic as he inspected and performed the alignment. Once back in the shop, Kevin was not only very thorough in his inspection, but very trained and skillful as well, pointing out things about my car that had taken me 3 months of ownership to discover. (I've been under the car 4 or 5 times myself for various repairs). After the inspection, my car was moved to the alignment rack, where Kevin went to all 4 wheels several times to dial the car perfectly back to factory alignment specifications. Also, the people in parts really know BMW's - they can find most any part (even those hard to find clips) in about 40 - 50 seconds. One really cool thing about BMW of Minnetonka’s parts department is that they carry some high quality after market components such as short shift kits and sports exhaust systems. Bottom Line: Some people might balk at spending $160 for a 4 wheel alignment, but when i look at the quality of work that was performed on my car, the care i was given as a customer, and all the expertise and knowledge imparted to me during the process, i actually felt like maybe the price was a little low. While I’ll need a few more experiences with this dealership to give an un-qualified recommendation, I can certainly say that with this one experience, I for one will be returning for additional services and parts in the near future. when it come to customer service the people at BMW of Minnetonka know their stuff. I was greeted with a smile and a warm hand shake. After the great experience I had today I wouldn't go anywhere else. I Minnetonka know their stuff. I was greeted with a smile and a warm hand shake. I would not recommend this dealership to ANYONE. I went here by myself (single, young, female) hoping to potentially buy a used 5 series for MYSELF. I was treated with zero customer service and and talked here by myself (single, young, female) hoping to potentially buy a used 5 series for MYSELF. I was treated with zero customer service and and talked down to. I have never felt so disrespected in my entire life and the salesman never once even attempted to actually sell me a car. He sent me on a test drive and when I returned he shook my hand and send me away. I was there with CASH ready to purchase a car if I had found the right one. I was so disappointed I sent them a message via their website explaining the disappointing service. Over 2 weeks later, I haven't even heard anything back from them. Shows how much they value customer service... NOT AT ALL. I have already told all my friends and family that if they're looking fora BMW to go elsewhere in the Twin Cities, because this dealership should not get any customers if they think its right to treat people this way.
