Hostility and Attitude for Service I brought my vehicle in for some servicing this weekend. I have been an incredible fan of BMW since I bought my beemer until today. I have been all over the US w/my beemer - nashville, fremont, vegas, sacramento for servicing and they have all exceeded my expectations of service and excellence w/10's across the board. It was to my dismay that it would be here in Honolulu BMW that the service and excellence that I believed was synonymous with BMW culture fell flat on its face. The service advisor I met was hostile and rude from the first moment of interaction. As soon as I mentioned why I was here, the very first thing they said was thats not what it says, we cant do it, theres no time, its not scheduled... all with the customary attitude of a snot nose little kid... needless to say I wasn't impressed with their customer service. Worse part is now that I've got my car serviced, it feels a little worse off than when I first went in. I think I will bear with it a bit as it beats dealing with those service advisors there and wasting my time trying to explain anything. I guess it only takes 1 to spoil a otherwise spotless reputation. Yah you got all 1's pretty much sums it up. More

WARNING!!! UNAUTHORIZED CREDIT CHECKS & IDENTITY ISSUES BMW/MINI of Hawaii will conduct unauthorized hard inquiries on your credit, damaging your credit score and costing you countless hours to remedy and, BMW/MINI of Hawaii will conduct unauthorized hard inquiries on your credit, damaging your credit score and costing you countless hours to remedy and, at least in my case, thousands of dollars. The day after purchasing my MINI in cash, I received a credit notification that BMW/MINI conducted a hard inquiry on my credit. This was totally uncalled for as I never pursued financing for my vehicle. When I contacted BMW/MINI about it, the sales manger, Darrel Pestana, claimed he did it on "accident" having negligently clicked the wrong button while haste-fully trying to complete my purchase. Rather than take ownership of the problem, BMW/MINI tried telling me just to contact the credit reporting agencies on my own. Unfortunately, as I told Darrel, this is not the solution as the request to remove such inquiries needs to come from the business. Finally, BMW/MINI agreed to deal with the issue. It has now been a month and, according to Experian, they have not received any such request from BMW/MINI or their representative. BMW/MINI's solution... rather than fix the problem they tried to buy my silence and submission by offering me a measly $500 credit toward MINI accessories. This is totally unacceptable as BMW/MINI's little "accident" is costing me thousands in additional interest toward my new home loan. MINI has yet to resolve the problem or offer fair compensation for damages. Additionally, BMW/MINI fails to safeguard their customers' personal information. They openly emailed all of my personal information, to include name, address, phone number, date of birth, and social security number (everything you need to steal someone's identity) via insecure electronic means. They failed to take appropriate safeguarding measures such as encrypting the documents, password protecting them. Additionally, when they sold me the car, BMW/MINI didn't even take the time to pull out the previous owners' documents. I have copies of the previous owners' registration and insurance cards, giving me their names, address, phone number, insurance policy information, and other personal info that BMW/MINI should have safeguarded. UPDATE: It has been a month and we are back at square one. Apparently whatever BMW/MINI submitted to Experian was insufficient and BMW/MINI is having to start from scratch. This just provides yet another example of their poor customer service. I understand that sometimes a company makes a mistake... but be prepare to own the problem and take appropriate and effective action needed to correct it. No BMW/MINI, you have not taken appropriate and timely action... if you had, your unauthorized credit inquiry would no longer appear on my credit report. More

But people will not forget how you made them feel" - Maya Angelou I was a potential customer who set out to buy a vehicle one day and decided that I wasn't going to stop until I found the car that I wanted, the right price for the car, and how the people at the organization who was trying to sell it to me made me feel. I first met Mike on the phone when I saw online that BMW (of all dealers) was selling a truck that fit my first two criteria. I knew BMW was NOT going to put a "lemon" associated with their fine name. The truck was in great shape and worthy. Mike was upfront and honest with me the whole time. He never tried to pressure me into coming to see it even though I told him I was going to see other dealerships he still kept in touch. Out of the three dealerships I visited, only BMW had a legitimate vibe. People were courteous, professional, and Mike was awesome. I paid for the vehicle in cash. It was the fastest most pleasant car buying experience I have had in so long. Thank You for that, Mike and BMW. More
