I don’t think my service advisor, Scott was very honest with me. He did not clearly communicate the terms of the repair. Initially, I explained to him that I made an appointment at 10:30 am on the followin with me. He did not clearly communicate the terms of the repair. Initially, I explained to him that I made an appointment at 10:30 am on the following day, Saturday. The person that took my call stated it would cost $50 to get a diagnosis of what the problem might be. When I arrived at the dealership on Friday evening I met with Scott. He told me that the cost to diagnose the issue would be about $100. He also stated that the car could not be worked on and to leave the car overnight. The next day I called him and stated he didn’t get an update on the car yet. I told him I had an extended warranty with Empire Auto Solution and he aside he would need to call them before proceeding with the diagnosis and repair. He would follow up on Monday. Fine! On Monday he stated he called Empire and they told him they would pay a customary charge to replace and install the alternator. I would be responsible for a $100 deductible. However, Scott explained because of the cost of doing business in Hawaii is higher than the mainland, the customary charges would not apply. How much my share would be is still not clear to me. What it comes down to is BMW would not make enough money by following the terms of the extended warranty. In effect, BMW is overcharging me with prices that are much greater than the national average. It seems very unfair. In addition, the invoice reads $195 for the diagnosis of the vehicle. That’s not what Scott told me. In summary, this incident raises my concerns about the business practices of BMW. Your actions causes confusion and a lack of confidence and sincerity of the business practices of the automotive industry. Steven Fukumoto More
Appointment in at 1:30 for ONE tire replacement. Not completed until 4:00. Really... 2 & 1/2 hrs for one tire? UNSATISFIED! I made an error and came in one day early. However, the woman who checked me in on Nov 14 at around 9:30am, went out of her way to check the schedule and was able to take my car in for service early.
