Took our 2012 mini in for an inspection .service writer scanned the key F.O.B. and noted that there was a back up lamp out.. I mentioned that there was oil sweat around the oil fill cap which was on tight and asked if they would check it out. They in formed us that they needed to order the part and kept the car over night. My wife called the next day in the a.m. To check on the car and was informed that the part would arrive by 3:00 pm and that they would call when the car was ready.she also mentioned that she needed the car as soon as possible because she had a doctors appointment and they assured her that they would call when the car was ready. My wife ended up walking home from work, and canceling her appointment. They never called . I called the dealership around 3:00 and was informed that the part was in and that they would call my wife when the car could be picked up.i called my wife at 5:00 to see if she heard from hassel and she said she had not.I called the dealer and waited in hold 23 min and 39 seconds . finally i hung up and called again .i waited another 5 minutes to talk to my service adviser,who informed me that my part was in the parts room which was now closed. if i hadent called they never would have called and the car would have been there a 3rd day. It takes forever to get someone on the phone and no one ever calls back. I waited 30 minutes to talk to my service advisor upon pick up at 6:20(as if he were a heart surgeon) before I could pick up my wife's car then another 10 minutes for the valet to move the cars around to get to my car. Their service facility is located on a dead end street clogged with cars and tow trucks and delivery vehicles attempting to turn around while other patrons double park. This is my second mini from hassel. It will be my last Steve in sales is an absolute pleasure to deal with . It ends there. We asked when we dropped off the car a loaner car but were told that there is a two week advance booking required.maybe if I had a 7 series Beemer with M.D. plates my experience would have been different Avoid this place at all cost I won't even be going back for the free scheduled service ill drive 40 minutes and give Haberstead mini a visit. I waisted that much time waiting to talk to my advisor just to get my car outta there . You've been warned More
I came looking for my first dream car and found it along with great customer service. Not only was I indecisive with whether or not I wanted the two sweater or four seater, I couldn't decide on a color! Ste with great customer service. He answered my questions, all while not applying any pressure to buy. I left with such a great feeling that I would be taken care of that I put a hold on a car right there and then. When my company cut back on salary, I explained my situation and they worked it out for me to afford it along with the high New York City insurance prices. They even went above and beyond when I had to come the next day after purchasing the car for reasons beyond their control. No one gave me trouble or made me feel uncomfortable. Steve and Dennis were there the whole way and made it a fun experience, especially it being my first car. I plan on telling my friends about this establishment. This was definitely a no hassle experience at Hassel Mini! More
hassel mini has been nothing but a big hassle..from the moment my wife and i stepped in..the lack of friendliness was noted..marcus mordan was our sales rep and had absolutely no enthusiasm at all..we fina moment my wife and i stepped in..the lack of friendliness was noted..marcus mordan was our sales rep and had absolutely no enthusiasm at all..we finally got to test drive the 2012 mini cooper countryman after almost half an hour of waiting..then were told that they wanted to close early that day..within an hour or so (meanwhile it was only 3pm) i understand hurricane sandy affected a lot of people..but i originally had an appointment with them at 7:30pm and they had to tell me they were closing at 4pm that day? either way it was wrong..they could have told me before i decided to go in early at 2pm that they could not honor the 7:30pm appointment..what if i really went in at 7:30pm from queens and found out they closed early? after we sat down for paperwork..we were told the 0.9% was only until that day so we had to finish all paperwork that very day..so we did! (while the website still says today..more than one week later..that they still have 0.9% financing) we wanted a countryman with navigation but they had nothing in stock..so they had to swap with another dealership in PA..agreeing to that..we paid our down payment and signed the paperwork and left..marcus mordan said he would contact us by friday (two days later) about the PA dealer..by friday evening we heard nothing from him so we called and we were told to email him since that was the best way to reach him..and he simply replied by saying the PA dealer did not get back to him..so i said i would wait til the following monday..by monday we had to email him ourselves again to hear that the PA dealer swap manager was out until wednesday (marcus mordan never initated any email conversation despite his promises to keep us updated) so we were fine with waiting until wednesday..what else could we do..so wednesday all day marcus mordan of course did not write again..so by 6pm i wrote him and said since he did not get back to us we had to assume he did not get in touch with the PA dealer and we would like to cancel the transaction..today is thursday and he still has not replied..my wife called them up to find that only was he not in..his manager also was not available..and we would have to call back later! so as of now we have no idea what's going on with the whole thing while we paid the down payment already..we're on the verge of calling our cc company to cancel the transaction since they have been failing big time to meet our requests..my wife and i have been very disappointed and frustrated with hassel mini and just wanted to share this experience with you (and we still don't know what the outcome will be!) I had done my research on-line so I knew what I wanted going in, but had a good number of questions anway. After the test drive I knew I wanted the car (All4 Countryman) but I did not feel pressured at all. I wanted to customize some options and Marcus went over my list carefully making sure each item was added. He gave me an expected delivery date and beleive it or not he nailed it to the exact date! In between he followed up with progress emails as my car was being built. Some may say this is standard, but this is the first time a dealer truly went out of their way to keep me notified. The day of pick-up I was again well prepared (the internet is great) for the dreaded talk with the sales manager and all the add ons. Anthony could not have been better, he very carefullly went over every item they offer in full detail and presented each option in writing so I could take my time and read through it.(again no dealer has done that before) I picked what I wanted and what I didn't want (no pressure on the no items at all) then he bundled them up in one price package so I could see it all in writing again. The most painles sales manager process ever. Marcus again was on hand to go over every feature of "my" Mini from top to bottom. I could not have been more satisifed with the overall experience. More
I spent some time looking for a car and MINI was not my first option. I was interested in the car but was not really going to buy it. Not comparable to any other dealership I've ever been to. Special thanks to Dennis for making it fun and enjoyable spending that much money)) Strongly recommend! Hassel is nothing but a hassle. attempted to call the dealer for a service. after ringing for 3 mins someone picked up and put me on hold for another 3 mins. then transfered the call to some other locati dealer for a service. after ringing for 3 mins someone picked up and put me on hold for another 3 mins. then transfered the call to some other location and then disconnected. tired to schedule an appointment online, no luck there. it said to call the no. if you need a loaner car. will attempt again later today. I leased a pre owned certified mini this week and I have to tell you I never experienced shopping for a car would be so easy at hassel mini. NO PRESSURE at all, Steve was my sales person and he was great answered all questions and more, the final sale was just as easy thanks to Anthony I was on the road in no time. Let me preface this by saying I'm an ex new car dealer. I sold my place in the 90's and turned consumer advocate. Anyone who asked me for help buying a car would be answered with the same response; "Lets go sold my place in the 90's and turned consumer advocate. Most of what people hear is true, many dealerships find numerous ways to lie, cheat or manipulate more money from their customers. On the other hand, there is Hassel Mini. I've purchased my last 5 cars from a new car dealer friend of mine so going to a stranger at a dealership as "just a customer" was not something I looked forward to. I wanted a Mini and had no connections or favors I could call in. I was on my own. I met Chris Mayor the saleperson at Hassel. He seemed honest and more than willing to answer questions even though I made it quite clear I wasn't buying a car (you could say I was testing him). Chris went out of his way to answer my questions, research the obscure things I asked and let me take many of my friends for test drives on numerous occassions. This went on for months! To put it simply, I was a pain in the butt. I can't say enough good things about Hassel. I was treated very well from start to finish. Post delivery I've been handled with the same respect and attention I received prior to purchasing. The salesperson was truly a pleasure as was the entire staff. I know the car industry very well. This dealership and my salesperson are a cut above. Anything I write would not do justice to how well I was treated. Way to go guys (and gals)!! More

I came in to look at the MINI Cooper. Stephen was really friendly and he answered all my questions. He then took me for a test drive. I then came back a few weeks later with my dad so he could take a look a friendly and he answered all my questions. He then took me for a test drive. I then came back a few weeks later with my dad so he could take a look at the car and help me decide. During this time Stephen was quite patient as he didn't put much pressure but at the same time he followed up with me. I was then deciding whtether to get a stick shift or an automatic which took a bit of time to decide. Once i made my decision I came in and placed the order. Once the car came in I worked with Stephen over the phone and through email and got all the paperwork ready before the day i came to pick it up. When i came in everything went pretty smooth and the manager, Anthony, helped me with the paperwork and Stephen then explained all the different things i neeeded to know about the car and sent me off. Stephen was very friendly and patient. I would recommend him to all my friends and family. Thanks Stephen! More
