What a terrible service experience! STAY AWAY! I made an appt to have my oil changed. I was told the service would take an hour. I also asked for a quote on a seatbelt repair and requested that they put th appt to have my oil changed. I was told the service would take an hour. I also asked for a quote on a seatbelt repair and requested that they put the rearview mirror plastic pieces back on. I can't seem to snap them together properly and they keep falling off. I informed Danika I would be in the waiting area. She asked me if I knew where it was and I did. The first time Danika found me in the waiting room she asked if I wanted to have my A/C freshened to the tune of $150.00; I decline. The 2nd time she came to the waiting room, she informed me that they would flush my brakeline because it has been two years since this service was done and it was time to conduct this service and it was free, fine. The third time she found me in the waiting room she informed me that they would replace the windshield wipers at no charge. I am then informed that the total serivice time would be 1 hour 20 minutes. No problem, so I continue to wait in the waiting area, working on my blackberry, drinking cappuccino. At 2 hours of waiting, I decided to walk over to the Danika's desk and figure out what was taking so long. Someone saw me waiting and paged Danika. 20 minutes later Danika shows up and seems very surprised to see. Apparently she tried to call me on my husband's cell phone, forgetting that she saw me 3 times in the waiting area. She claimed she called me and whoever answered couldn't hear her and she hung up. She had called my husband's cell phone and she determined she had the wrong # w/o even asking any questions or supplying her name. She did not call again although she had my cell phone # as well and yes, I was still waiting in the BMW of Fairfax waiting area, where she had found me three times to give me updates. But the worst of offenses was not waiting for 2.5 hours on a sunny Friday afternoon in the waiting area; but, the fact that when I reviewed my invoice, Danika claimed to have offered an alignment and a P/S flush, which she stated on the invoice was recommended by not performed. xxxxxxxx. She lied and that is unacceptable. I would have gladly had this work done as it was part of my maintenance contract and as such, FREE. This is the second time I've had my car serviced at BMW of Fairfax. The first time I was so dismayed at the service I contacted Paul Blakeman and he assured me that it was a fluke and my bad service experience would not happen again. He was very wrong. I called my old service advisor, Joseph Millington, at Daniel's BMW in Allentown, PA and asked if I could please have my car serviced when I returned to Allentown. Of course, he agreed and I asked him to move to Fairfax and show Danika how a real service advisor worked. I am so disappointed and disgusted with BMW of Fairfax that my husband and I will never take my car back there again. We are looking at other BMW service departments and we believe we found one that was rated as 5's, not 1.2 which is Fairfax's assessment. Save yourselves! Find some place else to take your prized BMW. More
BMW of Fairfax had provided terrible service and overpriced service quotes to my friend (and even mis-diagnosed problems on his vehicle), but I decided to give them the benfit of the doubt and check overpriced service quotes to my friend (and even mis-diagnosed problems on his vehicle), but I decided to give them the benfit of the doubt and check options for getting my car serviced there. After talking to a service advisor about the N54 engine in my E82, it was immediately clear they did not have even a basic understanding of the engine setup. As a BMW enthusiast, it is scary knowing the people working on your vehicle are less familiar with their vehicles than some of their customers. Needless to say, I'll be paying a visit to BMW of Richmond instead. I miss my old dealership I had before I moved. P.S. Perhaps knowing basic information on a 2 time "International Engine of the Year" award winner should be a prerequisite for employment. Do they not even read the free booklets on their vehicles that contain basic engine information? If not, they are in the waiting area. You'll surely spend enough time there if you are a customer to notice which ones I'm talking about. More
I had taken my 07 BMW E60 M5 in for an oil change and couple minor problems, and was told by the SA that my car would be ready in 1 day. Note: My car is in immaculate condition, and I have aftermarket HR couple minor problems, and was told by the SA that my car would be ready in 1 day. Note: My car is in immaculate condition, and I have aftermarket HRE wheels on my car that cost me nearly 6k dollars. When I called to come pick up my car later that day my SA, said that it won't be ready until tomorrow. Ok, I was fine with that, however, I call the next day and the SA tells me my car will need to be in for a couple more days because their is a part that needs to be replaced that they ordered, and it will take couple days for it to arrive. Wait a second? I thought my car was fine, but I trusted the SA's word and called back a few days later. Guess what? The SA says it is still not ready, and he gave me the same answer that it is still being worked on. Finally, after waiting all this time. My SA calls and tells me to come and get it. So, I went to pick-up the car, and some guy pulls it up to the service garage. My mouth literally dropped, I couldn't believe my eyes. My custom 3-Piece rims were scratched up, and both wheels on the passenger side of the car were curbed, I was furious and these rims where not in this condition prior to dropping it off to the BMW of FAIRFAX service department. My car was covered in dirt and dust, as if it went through a storm, and there were scratches all over my car, when I dropped off my car their were no scratches. I get in the car and the interior was filled with dirty fingerprints and smudges, my interior is tan so I could see all the scuff marks all over the seats and the dash was covered in dirt and dust, my rear seats were also dirty as if people had been in the back. Then I turn on my engine and to my amusement my car had more mileage on it prior to dropping it off, say about 450 miles more on the odometer. note: I always check my odometer prior to dropping it off to do any service on the car. I couldn't believe what I saw. I then furiously confront my SA and he gives me a lame excuse that it had not been driven, and it had been sitting there where he saw it. I could tell that I new he was lying, as he hesitated and didn't bother looking at me. BMW CUSTOMERS BEWARE! THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I EVER GO TO BMW OF FAIRFAX SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO DO ANY NECESSARY WORK ON MY BMW. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO ANY BMW OWNER. More
I feel it is my duty to my fellow Bimmer owners to ensure they never have the experience I had at BMW of FairFax. There are many details which make this part very hard butI will be brief. My sunroof explod they never have the experience I had at BMW of FairFax. There are many details which make this part very hard butI will be brief. My sunroof exploded (Aug 08)which created damage to my vehicle, including paint. My husband was doing a tour in Iraq at the time but before he left, he gave me Brian Thomas' card and said, "If you ever have trouble with the car, take it to Brian, he will take care of it". So, I did and I was truely sorry. They were kind enough to fix it under warranty which I thought was a good thing at the time. My car was in the shop for three weeks and was given back to me in worse condition than when I left. The car's interior was stained with black inside and my immaculate paint job was now all scratched on the sides and back. My 335i was not even a year old and it looked three years hold. I was mortified and speechless that I left the dealer for fear of going "postal". Initially, I dealt with Mr. Thomas who made me feel like I should be grateful for whatever they did even if it was crap. They were given a second attempt to make it right and failed then also by not addressing the scratches created by their shop. When my husband returned three weeks ago, he was livid. We just got back from Richmond BMW, where they did more for us in two days than Fairfax did in one month. STAY AWAY FROM BMW OF FAIRFAX, their service is poor, their standards are poor, their workmanship is poor and they invest zero quality assurance. More
I own a 330 cic. I got into a bad accident over a year ago and, unfortunately, took my car to BMW Fairfax for repair. Lets just say they cut every corner to save money for my insurance company and left me ago and, unfortunately, took my car to BMW Fairfax for repair. Lets just say they cut every corner to save money for my insurance company and left me with problems galore. I later found out that my insurance has some kind of agreement with them, so I was not surprised that BMW Fairfax was willing to screw the little guy over in the best interest of Allstate Insurance and more referrals from Allstate. I had a similar issue just a couple of months ago and went to BMW Sterling instead. They did what they needed to do and I am very happy with their service. There is a reason why BMW Sterling far outperforms BMW Fairfax in every customer satisfaction category. With BMW Fairfax, the problems occurred immediately. The day after I got my car back from the shop, my engine cover fell out the bottom of the car. I took it back to BMW Fairfax to get fixed and they tried to charge ME $600 for it instead of sending the bill to my insurance. I argued that the engine cover was obviously damaged in the accident and that I just picked my car up from their shop the day before. They argued that, "Once the car leaves our lot there is nothing we can do." I left fuming. I got even more angry when I looked under the car and realized that the engine cover was not even replaced. The one that was damaged in the accident was haphazardly screwed back on to the bottom of the car just to save the insurance company a few hundred bucks. REDICULOUS! BMW Fairfax screwed me by not replacing the broken engine cover with a new one. The thing was literally cracked in half with pieces of it missing. They screwed me a second time when the broken engine cover fell off the the day after I picked it up and they refused to charge my insurance for it. BMW should have replaced and fixed it without any additional cost to me. Since then, I have had several problems with the car totaling to over $5,000. I suspect many of these problems are due to BMW Fairfaxs negligence and poor handling of my vehicle. DO NOT GO TO BMW FAIRFAX. The cost is too great. More
I recently took my 2001 BMW 325i (75,000 miles) in the morning on 9/24/07 for service inspection, brake repairs, and defective pumping system for windshield spray. I was charged ~$2300 in for repairs lis morning on 9/24/07 for service inspection, brake repairs, and defective pumping system for windshield spray. I was charged ~$2300 in for repairs listed above. After I picked up my car ~7:00pm on 9/25/07, I was driving around when the coolant light came on. When I arrived home, I had to wait for the engine to cool down before I could check the coolant level. Lo and behold, when I came to check my car, there was a large puddle of coolant under it and the coolant indicator was all the way at the bottom of the coolant tank. Even after I added more coolant, it just poured right out. To make matters worse, even though they repaired the windshield wiper spray, it still did not work. I brought my car back in on 9/26/07 at 7:00am. I was later told that since their technicians could not find a reason for the coolant leak or a reason how they could have caused it, they were going to charge me ~$900 for repair (which they did). I subsequently picked up my car on 9/27/07 ~7:00pm again. Now it is 9/29/07, and once again I found a puddle of coolant under my car and while driving, the coolant leak came on again. I had to fill the coolant tank twice before I got home since it was leaking and am screwed until Monday since I wasn't able to get my car in before they closed on a Saturday. Talk about crappy service for a crappy car. More
Thought I'd write a review about these scam artists. I had a 97' 328i that I took to them once. They did some front end work and told me that my belts needed replaced too, for $275.00!!! Are you kidding m had a 97' 328i that I took to them once. They did some front end work and told me that my belts needed replaced too, for $275.00!!! Are you kidding me!! I said no, I'll get another opinion, glad I did. I took it to my own (honest) mechanic. He said my belts were good and when needed, he would charge $150 parts and labor to replace them all. Well, I never did have to replace them after all. I put over 40,000 trouble free miles on those belts that supposedly needed to be replaced by the Fairfax BMW thieves. More

Worst experience ever. I had to take my car back 5 times (no exaggeration) for the same problem over the course of 2 months. 4 of those 5 times I had to deal with a different service advisor and start all (no exaggeration) for the same problem over the course of 2 months. 4 of those 5 times I had to deal with a different service advisor and start all over because the one previous had quit or been fired. I would never have come back after the 2nd time (I always give a second chance) if they hadn't already charged me $1800 for the "work" they did. Needless to say, I've not gone back since and have suggest others to save themselves the hassle. More
I bought an X5 CPO and paid a $3,500 premium to have all prior deficiencies repaired. I have taken my vehicle back twice within 3 mo. to have the same repair done and it still has not been fixed. I have tri prior deficiencies repaired. I have taken my vehicle back twice within 3 mo. to have the same repair done and it still has not been fixed. I have tried to call Rick twice this week and left messages that I wanted to schedule a service appointment. To date I have not heard back from Rick or anyone in the service department. I will try calling BMW Sterling today but it appears from the reviews that they are not much better. There loaner cars from Enterprise are less than desirable. The first loaner given was a Dodge pickup truck that the former rental person had there long white haired dog shed all over the black interior and Enterprise only vacuumed at my request and never took care of the wet dog smell. The second loaner given was a Dodge Neon! Don't want to appear as a car snob but please, at least a mid-size car! More
