Car was brought for repairs; estimated time to fix 5 days. Inquired about a loaner vechile, and said it was impossible. Inquired further, as we all know its not impossible. Found out I could be placed days. Inquired about a loaner vechile, and said it was impossible. Inquired further, as we all know its not impossible. Found out I could be placed #12 on a waitlist. Said sure, put me on it. Inquired again on Day 5, and said a loaner will be ready in 1 hour. HAHAAHHA Did not hear back from my advisor. Ok moving forward to Day 11( with no replacement vechile): Receive a voice message that a Loaner is avaiable. HAHAHA this guy has to be kidding me! My Immediate thought is how much LONGER WILL IT TAKE THE DEALERSHIP to fix the repairs. Called back, & 1st question is my car ready, beacuse your detailed VM identifying me and my car, said a loaner is avaiable. The idiot advisor literally puts on a fake voice ands say Surprise it is! Conclusion, they treat they customers like IDIOTS< so dont be an Idiot and take your car here. I will neverwaste my time and put myself in a postion with this Dealership again. Calls to BMWNA were made, and just told they cannot do anything as it is an Indepently owed Dealership.. SPEND YOUR TIME AND $$$$$$$ ELSEWHERE More
If you need to get your BMW serviced or repaired, go see Allen Capaldi at BMW of Fairfax. This guy is awesome. He will listen, he will respond, he will call you, and advise you. He's the best service adviso Allen Capaldi at BMW of Fairfax. This guy is awesome. He will listen, he will respond, he will call you, and advise you. He's the best service advisor I've ever had at any dealership. The maintenance techs are equally great. I've used Dan to service my X5D. He knows his stuff, will come out to talk to you about repairs and explain all maintenance. Both these guys are very concerned about customer satisfaction. I really get the feeling that they work on behalf of the customer. You can't go wrong with them and with the general attitude at the service department. All have been absolutely terrific. More
I bought a 2008 Z4 from Fairfax BMW in Feb 2009 with about 25000 miles left on the warranty. I took the car to service in April 2010 and told them the car was pulling to the right. Supposedly they com about 25000 miles left on the warranty. I took the car to service in April 2010 and told them the car was pulling to the right. Supposedly they completed a front end alignment, not covered under warranty, so after paying I asked for a copy of the alignment paperwork. Before leaving the dealership I questioned why the specs were basically the same after the alignment as they were before but they had no explanation. The next day I left a message for the service manager, who did not call me back. I called again the next day, no return call. After I left a detailed message for the manager of the dealership, the service manager called back and offered me a full refund even though he was confident that the alignment had been completed. In August 2011 the car was in for service again and an alignment was again completed, along with all new brakes and new tires. The brake light came on last week, just 1700 miles after the car was out of warranty. This Saturday, 11/12/11, I scheduled an appointment and after waiting approximately 4 hours I was told that the brake sensor was bad and that the car was pulling to the right and they were concerned that the frame was bent so they wanted to send it to the body shop. I was disgusted, they mentioned no problem when they sold me the car, no problem when the car was under warranty, but when it was no longer their responsibility to repair they found the problem that I reported for the last two years. Buyer beware of this dealership and service department. More
Bad Customer Service! I bought a 7 series and within Bad Customer Service! I bought a 7 series and within one month i had an axel problem. I tried to defend my case that i work from home, hence there Bad Customer Service! I bought a 7 series and within one month i had an axel problem. I tried to defend my case that i work from home, hence there was no way i could have caused the axel to break down in 24 days. I told them this is a pre-existing problem and they should cover the charges. But nooooo, they declined to cover the charges, and worst of all, had a very rude and arrogant sales manager to tell me this. At the end of it all, the money or the fee was not even the issue because i had already paid for the services to fix the axel before contacting the sales office to discuss the issue at hand. Even if they were going to insist on not paying for it, a good manager will have a better way to communicate effectively to the customer to get his point accross without loosing a prospective client. I have two BMWs, the first i got from Passport BMW (an X5). The only reason i didn't go with Passport for the second time was because i wanted a 750i and all they had were 750Li. Now thinking about it - I should have waited till they had one. More
I planned to buy a 2008 BMW 328i from a Private Seller and brought the car to this dealership for Pre-sales inspection. They charged me $236.00 for a 3 hour complete pre-sales inspection so that I have pi and brought the car to this dealership for Pre-sales inspection. They charged me $236.00 for a 3 hour complete pre-sales inspection so that I have piece of mind, before buying this car. As per them, the car was great and had no issues. I had a pre-approved loan from my bank and when I met my Loan officer to collect the cheque, after checking the VIN#, in 5 minutes, he informed me that this is a Lemon Car. A lemon car is one which had i year maintenance issues due to faulty manufacturing and BMW buys back such cars and sells them cheap at auctions. The seller was trying to scam me but one thing which I dont understand is, an authorized dealer is unable to tell me about a purchase backed car of BMW, but a Loan officer without internal information of BMW inventory can tell me more about the car. I went back to the dealership for explanation and as per them they only check the car from inside out. Well, doing an error is one thing and then covering it with more lies is another thing. This is one of the worst dealers I have ever met. I took the VIN# to another dealer and the first thing they told me was that the car was a Lemon car. Surely, this is not the best practice issue but the way they con a customer. More
I took my 1999 M3 here for service related to a crash that I was in, Geico was footing the bill as the issues that the car was being seen for were electrical, from the moment the car went over to BMW of that I was in, Geico was footing the bill as the issues that the car was being seen for were electrical, from the moment the car went over to BMW of Fairfax I had issues with the way I was treated, and the way they handled the situation: -I called on a Tuesday to schedule an appointment for the car to come in, the girl on the phone told me they could see the car first thing the next morning, I told her I would night owl the car and leave it so it was ready first thing. The next morning after calling 3 times, I was finally told a 2 pm that they were super busy and somebody was just getting to it now. -Over the next few days I had to hunt down my service adviser to find out what was going on with the 1 hour of diagnostic time they needed, It took 3 days to get anything out of him, and at that point all they had managed to do was plug the car into the computer and read fault codes (this is a 5 minute job they charged an hour worth of time for). -It got so bad that I had to make a surprise visit to the shop to find out what was going on with the car. The mechanic hadn't even printed out the fault codes, and had only downloaded the fault codes for 1 of the 2 systems I asked them to look at. At this time the SA tried to tell me the car need a smoke test for a vaccum leak-which was not the case because the problem I was having was electrical, when I told him he was wrong the response I got was-My Mechanic worked for Nascar for 10 years so he knows best. When I asked him to move ahead without the smoke test and look at the other issue I had he refused and said we had to do the smoke test at two hours @ $150/hour -I had to take the car to BMW of Sterling because not only did the SA refuse to do any work other than unnecessary work, but he would not return Geico's calls. This was a terrible experience in all aspects from the customer service, to the mechanic/service adviser honesty, to the cost, I would never go back here, and I would advise against ever taking your vehicle to this place! Went in for annual maintenance. all I needed was an estimate to fix 3 issues, one of the cup holder wasn't sliding out, tail light needed replacement, change brake fluid. I dropped off the car at 9:15 a estimate to fix 3 issues, one of the cup holder wasn't sliding out, tail light needed replacement, change brake fluid. I dropped off the car at 9:15 am and was told that they'll have this estimate for me by 2pm. Really..it takes 5hrs for an estimate? After repeated phone calls/messages to check if the estmate was ready I get a phone call and at 3:15..it's still not ready. At 4pm I'm presented an invoice for $250. The brake fluid was filled for a cost of $100.30 even when I had requested an estimate ONLY. Too steep a price..fine I'll pay that. But then $150 charge for a diagnostic to tell me the same issues I'd already told them that I needed an estimate for..that's unethical. It apparently is their POLICY they do a dignostic check and not take my word for it. This fee wasn't disclosed to me..after 30min of discussion with Jerell he agrees to replace my cupholder as an adjustment to the diagnostic price & charges me $15.92 for a repair order!! The only reason I used them even after reading abt the horrible service & experiencing this once myself earlier is their proximity to my work. Will never go there again. More
If you take your car into this shop and State Farm is picking up the ticke for body work watch out. I was crashed into in my E65 and the other guys insurance which is State Farm is paying. They have a de picking up the ticke for body work watch out. I was crashed into in my E65 and the other guys insurance which is State Farm is paying. They have a deal with State Farm thatthey will 1) use non BMW parts if they can 2)Not repair all of the damage to keep the bill low and keep State Farms "recommneded body shop status" 3) They call what gets fixed and what does not ( see #2). If you have a BMW that has been in an accident and State Farm is paying - take it to a BMW dealer that does not have a contract with State Farm More
Took the car in so many times for the same low coolant problem and they keep changing different parts until warranty ran out. Then they charged for the coolant expansion tank which I have told them to rep problem and they keep changing different parts until warranty ran out. Then they charged for the coolant expansion tank which I have told them to replace from the beginning as it is a common issue with E60 five series. Con artist and deceptive business practice to make a buck. Never buy or service your BMW there unless you want to be robbed. To top it off, overchared credit card after faxing in authorization form with the bill and now having a heck of a time getting the credit back. More
