Service Department Needs Work Twice I have had an unacceptable experience at BMW of Fairfax Collision Shop. This time, a tech broke a hatch latch and still returned the car in tha Twice I have had an unacceptable experience at BMW of Fairfax Collision Shop. This time, a tech broke a hatch latch and still returned the car in that condition. There was also a large drop of black paint on the hood. My customer service rep does not seem to understand that the customer should be entitled to the benefit of the doubt. I felt as if he was more interested in protecting the techs than doing right by the customer. The manager, Danny, gets it, and is the only reason I would go back to this shoddy shop. More

Awful service department So many issues over the years , I recently purchased a new BMW because I love the vehicle. While waiting, I had the chance to commiserate with a couple other folks who also agree this is an awful service department. Problem is the Alexandria dealer is no better. More
Service Center On September 27, I took my BMW 2015 X3 in for an oil and brake fluid change, and recommended comprehensive vehicle inspection. I was serviced by a tec On September 27, I took my BMW 2015 X3 in for an oil and brake fluid change, and recommended comprehensive vehicle inspection. I was serviced by a technician with the initials of SL who attempted to sell me warranties and services in the thousands of dollars that were not needed while checking me in. Upon close completion of the work SL informed me that I had an oil leak coming from the oil filter housing seal and recommended a repair for $1100 +. I declined and made him aware that during my previous oil service I reported an oil leak in the same area which was supposed to have been repaired. He indifferently explained that this was a different oil leak. I contacted Konrad Malinowski, service manager, the following week who had assisted me during my last oil + service in 2018. Like then, his outstanding intervention helped mitigate the problem. I scheduled and took my vehicle back in on October 4, for the reported oil leak problem that was brought to my attention by SL. The repair was made with a significant Good Will price reduction. However, I had been informed by SL when making the appointment that the work would take 3-4 hours. I dropped off the vehicle at 7 a.m. and picked it up shortly after 2 p.m. I was never informed by SL when the work was completed and 7 hours later I drove to the service center. An apology was extended by SL. I picked up my vehicle, paid the bill, and quickly left to avoid the traffic home. Upon arriving home I noticed that the vehicle had been washed, but apparently parked some place before I picked it up, that caused dirt to cover areas of the vehicle like on the windshield wipers, front and back, door jams, and under the hood. I take pride in my BMW and found this unacceptable but cleaned it off myself. My experience with SL was not good. My experience with Konrad Malinowski, like always, was outstanding. Recommend to have technicians not try and sell unnecessary warranties and services, to listen to customers, to be prompt in notifying customers when the work is completed and ready for pick-up, and to ensure that the vehicle is returned better than it was when it was brought in. Finally, the October 4 invoice indicated that I reported the oil leak. I did not. I was informed by SL on September 27, that I had an oil leak. I also pointed out to SL that the September 27 invoice had me charged for a Diesel oil service. He indifferently stated that the price was the same. These type discrepancies should not be made at a BMW dealer/service center. I expect better of the BMW brand. Respectfully, Carl-Martin More
