James Duerbeck knew exactly how to sell my new X1 to me. I have owned a BMW X series since 1988...and still have the 1988 which we drive when one of our cars is in service. In October James sold me the X1. We first went to visit James in the Spring to drive the BMW X1 but was disappointed to learn it was only available in automatic transmission. I just could not give up my manual transmission sedan. All my cars have been manual transmission. The X1 was available only in automatic. James emailed me several times to see if I had changed my mind and would now purchase an automatic. Never! but then I kept thinking about that great X1 and the way it handled. James would email me every few months and I decided to go to see him one day in October. As soon as he saw me he knew exactly which car to bring around for me to test drive. While it was the same color X1 as I had driven in the spring, it was now the 2014 model. He brought the white X1 with black leather interior around for me to drive. He knew. He knew that was what I wanted...a white X1 with black leather interior. We had discussed this in the spring...and here it was but with only automatic transmission. I caved. I loved it and he knew I would. James possesses an excellent sense for bringing the perfect car to a buyer. He knew what I wanted and I think he knew I would eventually give up my insistence on manual transmission for the white X1 with black interior. One can tell he is an expert by the number of customers waiting to see him. He knows the BMW and he knows his customers. I have called him several times to clarify some of the technical issues I am still learning about. He is a professional, a great teacher and an expert! More

While I used an auto broker to locate my new BMW 328i xDrive and then negotiate the deal, our experience with James Duerbeck was fantastic. There was no quibbling about the price, sales experience/process (especially my use of a broker), and the deal he worked out for me put more options into the car (a rare blend of features) for a better price than I found anywhere else in the country. Once I showed up at the dealership to finalize the sale, he walked me through every feature of the car and surprised me by already preprogramming the car so I wouldn't have to worry about all the various settings. He got that part down perfectly and every time I asked if the car would do X because I wanted it to be that way, he laughed and said he figured I would say that and sure enough, the car was totally tweaked and personalized just for me. What a great way to end the deal and what a great feeling driving home in my very first BMW. I would not hesitate to return to BMW of Fairfax and would specifically seek out James Duerbeck to help me in the future. I especially appreciated that he gave me all of his contact information so when I have questions, I can call him for help (I have already done so a few times and James got me squared away). More

I must say I am truly amazed with the help I received from James Duerbeck in buying my new 5 series. The day of arrival he explained absolutely every function on the car and some, many I did not know even existed. Had a great experience at BMW of Fairfax. Alex was very helpful in answering questions and providing information about BMW, as I had never purchased one before. I never got the feeling that he was pushing the sale or trying to get me to choose things that I didn't need. The price of the car was correct when I compared it to Kelley blue book and was below the national average price for that car. I hadn't bought a car with the "True Price" before but actually appreciated that it eliminates the stress of haggling. Financing was easy and everyone I dealt with was pleasant and professional. I especially appreciated never feeling pressured during the process. I would definitely recommend BMW of Fairfax and Alex in particular. More
