Terrible Experience, I really expected better. Where do I begin? Recently I began searching for a new vehicle, as my car was getting old and no longer suited my life style. My parents had bought a New BMW from Petr and had nothing but great things to say about him, so I contacted him to see if they had anything I might like. Initially I liked a Certified 535 they had on the lot. Petr allowed me to take the car on a test drive and I decided it was far to large. I am a single 22 year old, and the car just felt far to big for me. We came back to the dealership and we began looking for another solution. This time a 3series. I found one in Mojave Metallic with oyster Dakota leather, I loved it. It was just about perfect. Only 27k miles on it. Most of the options I wanted (aside from sports package). I told him this is the one. I am young and just started a new job so it took me almost a week to get financing handled. However I got a great loan at 100% value at an incredibly low rate from ITCU. I called Petr and told him. I am approved I am just figuring out my negative equity now; as I was almost $10,000 upside down in my Mercedes. I told Petr that I would either finance the negative equity or I would just write a check. The next day I called and said I would write a check but I would need it post dated... This is the first problem I have. The sales manager literally told Petr he "didn't want to take a chance" on me. When my parents bought their car they post dated the check for almost the entire amount of the vehicle for two weeks WITH no problem. However, with me, suddenly its an issue. I make six figures and I have no outstanding debt other then an auto loan and a few credit cards. I am in the process of building credit. I see no reason why I would pose any form of threat or risk. I call my father and ask him to call the manager to see why he's treating me like some second rate kid, and suddenly the manager agrees to hold the check. I drive to the dealership (about an hour drive) only to be told, "sorry, the cars been sold". The Car was on the lot when I arrived, I saw it. It was sold minutes after I arrived. I should have been notified. The moment I said I was approved and on my way to buy the car, the keys should have been set away and that should have been that. I'm very disappointed. I expected so much better. I didn't appreciate the snide looks and eye rolling from the staff while I was waiting for Petr, either. Rubbish. Get your acts together. My father is buying his M4 from BMW of Charlottesville, that is also where I'd rather have my car serviced. After my poor experience here, I went to another dealership and bought a 335i Msport with 31k miles on it. One owner and still spent less then I would have on their 328i.... More

I recently had the pleasure of buying a 2014 535i M-Sport BMW from James Duerbeck, U.S, European, Performance Center, & Diplomatic Sales Specialist of BMW of Fairfax, 8427 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22031 T BMW from James Duerbeck, U.S, European, Performance Center, & Diplomatic Sales Specialist of BMW of Fairfax, 8427 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22031 This will be my fourth BMW and my third 5 Series and our “best experience” at purchasing a new car. We stopped at BMW of Fairfax to get a copy of the 2014 Brochure as I was having a tough time understand all the new features and options available to me. I learned that all brochures are not available on the web. However, James saw my dilemma and volunteered to answer all my questions. My wife and I sat with James in his office and he went over every standard feature, option and packages available to us. He then took us out to look at car on the lot and we sat in a model that had many of the features we wanted and he went over the operation of all these features. In total we spent about 3 hours with James that day. A week later we came in for a test drive. By this time, it was pretty apparent that we would be ordering a vehicle since we were interested in so many different package and options. James picked out a test vehicle that would have the basic sport features we wanted. Then my wife and I took test rides with James that lasted a good hour. Afterwards, we sat down with James and ordered out New Car! James was straight forward with the pricing and all the savings we get from BMW and by the fact that we were USAA insurance members. We felt really good about the cost of our new car. James insured we got everything we wanted on the car and he thoroughly explained the pricing and our overall savings. Our new care only took six weeks to get to BMW of Fairfax. James worked with us to pick the best time to pick up the car. This was important to us as the weather had been really bad and we didn’t want to drive a new car home in the snow. There was absolutely no pressure from James to come in before we were ready. The day of our pick-up, James spent over two hours with us going over every control and button on the vehicle. He adjusted the driver seats for both of us to make sure we were sitting properly to enjoy the Car. On his own, James set up the memory buttons so that we could easily and quickly select controls for Navigation, phone, Pre-sets for Radio, Multi Media, split screen and lastly and direct line telephone number to James for any problems and questions we might have. He should patent this approach he set up for us. I will never need to change it. The personal service and the amount of time that James Duerbeck spent with us were unlike anything we have ever experienced in all of our years of buying new cars.
