I recently had the pleasure of buying a 2014 535i M-Sport BMW from James Duerbeck, U.S, European, Performance Center, & Diplomatic Sales Specialist of BMW of Fairfax, 8427 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22031 T BMW from James Duerbeck, U.S, European, Performance Center, & Diplomatic Sales Specialist of BMW of Fairfax, 8427 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22031 This will be my fourth BMW and my third 5 Series and our “best experience” at purchasing a new car. We stopped at BMW of Fairfax to get a copy of the 2014 Brochure as I was having a tough time understand all the new features and options available to me. I learned that all brochures are not available on the web. However, James saw my dilemma and volunteered to answer all my questions. My wife and I sat with James in his office and he went over every standard feature, option and packages available to us. He then took us out to look at car on the lot and we sat in a model that had many of the features we wanted and he went over the operation of all these features. In total we spent about 3 hours with James that day. A week later we came in for a test drive. By this time, it was pretty apparent that we would be ordering a vehicle since we were interested in so many different package and options. James picked out a test vehicle that would have the basic sport features we wanted. Then my wife and I took test rides with James that lasted a good hour. Afterwards, we sat down with James and ordered out New Car! James was straight forward with the pricing and all the savings we get from BMW and by the fact that we were USAA insurance members. We felt really good about the cost of our new car. James insured we got everything we wanted on the car and he thoroughly explained the pricing and our overall savings. Our new care only took six weeks to get to BMW of Fairfax. James worked with us to pick the best time to pick up the car. This was important to us as the weather had been really bad and we didn’t want to drive a new car home in the snow. There was absolutely no pressure from James to come in before we were ready. The day of our pick-up, James spent over two hours with us going over every control and button on the vehicle. He adjusted the driver seats for both of us to make sure we were sitting properly to enjoy the Car. On his own, James set up the memory buttons so that we could easily and quickly select controls for Navigation, phone, Pre-sets for Radio, Multi Media, split screen and lastly and direct line telephone number to James for any problems and questions we might have. He should patent this approach he set up for us. I will never need to change it. The personal service and the amount of time that James Duerbeck spent with us were unlike anything we have ever experienced in all of our years of buying new cars. James Duerbeck knew exactly how to sell my new X1 to me. I have owned a BMW X series since 1988...and still have the 1988 which we drive when one of our cars is in service. All my cars have been bought and serviced at BMW Fairfax. My husband also has developed the BMW appreciation/addiction but he likes the convertibles. My second car was a 2004 xi...... In October James sold me the X1. We first went to visit James in the Spring to drive the BMW X1 but was disappointed to learn it was only available in automatic transmission. I just could not give up my manual transmission sedan. All my cars have been manual transmission. The X1 was available only in automatic. James emailed me several times to see if I had changed my mind and would now purchase an automatic. Never! but then I kept thinking about that great X1 and the way it handled. James would email me every few months and I decided to go to see him one day in October. As soon as he saw me he knew exactly which car to bring around for me to test drive. While it was the same color X1 as I had driven in the spring, it was now the 2014 model. He brought the white X1 with black leather interior around for me to drive. He knew. He knew that was what I wanted...a white X1 with black leather interior. We had discussed this in the spring...and here it was but with only automatic transmission. I caved. I loved it and he knew I would. James possesses an excellent sense for bringing the perfect car to a buyer. He knew what I wanted and I think he knew I would eventually give up my insistence on manual transmission for the white X1 with black interior. One can tell he is an expert by the number of customers waiting to see him. He knows the BMW and he knows his customers. I have called him several times to clarify some of the technical issues I am still learning about. He is a professional, a great teacher and an expert! More

While I used an auto broker to locate my new BMW 328i xDrive and then negotiate the deal, our experience with James Duerbeck was fantastic. There was no quibbling about the price, sales experience/process (especially my use of a broker), and the deal he worked out for me put more options into the car (a rare blend of features) for a better price than I found anywhere else in the country. Once I showed up at the dealership to finalize the sale, he walked me through every feature of the car and surprised me by already preprogramming the car so I wouldn't have to worry about all the various settings. He got that part down perfectly and every time I asked if the car would do X because I wanted it to be that way, he laughed and said he figured I would say that and sure enough, the car was totally tweaked and personalized just for me. What a great way to end the deal and what a great feeling driving home in my very first BMW. I would not hesitate to return to BMW of Fairfax and would specifically seek out James Duerbeck to help me in the future. I especially appreciated that he gave me all of his contact information so when I have questions, I can call him for help (I have already done so a few times and James got me squared away). More
