Since it was a factory recall the work had to be completed at the dealer. I was impressed and surprised that the service department did not try to up-sell me a myriad of other repairs for defects they "discovered" on the "courtesy inspection". The car is well kept but not perfect so I was really dreading the call for authorization to do extra work. When the call came I was delighted to learn the car was ready sooner than planned and there was no extra work to be done. Well done! This was a trust building experience. More
Worth the distance I travel 50 miles to use this dealer. The closer BMW dealer is horrible. BMW of Fairfax treats customers like they should be treated. Great 1st time visit for service This was my first time at the service center. My car developed a problem with the instrument cluster. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Shea took car This was my first time at the service center. My car developed a problem with the instrument cluster. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Shea took care of everything. He got down the details of the issues, brought in the car and got me a loaner in less than 1 hr. He stayed in touch with me through the service process via text and email. While it was not fun having the issue. I was taken care of throughout the process with regular updates. In short, he did a great job. I would go back to a BMW of Fairfax Service Center if another issue develops with the car (hopefully it isn’t needed!) Regards, Laxman Bahroo More

Here is a report of the events which occurred: We went to BMW of Fairfax on 12/29/18 because we received an "Important Safety Recall Information" let Here is a report of the events which occurred: We went to BMW of Fairfax on 12/29/18 because we received an "Important Safety Recall Information" letter from BMW in the mail. Upon our arrival at the dealership, Shea received us and told us we would have to wait 3-4 hours to have the issue fixed, so we agreed to wait. We waited 3 long hours in the waiting area and while we did, we got a text message asking if we wanted to fix the oil filter housing gasket and we declined. Finally, we were told that the issue had been resolved and that we could go. We drove our car out to the front and as soon as we turned onto the road, a sign appeared informing us that there was a ”AWD, DSC, ABS,EBV”, so naturally we circled back to the dealership and asked Shea what he did to our vehicle that would make this happen- we had never previously had this problem before he "fixed" one thing and obviously tampered with and destroyed others. He took the car once again, checked it, and came back after about half an hour and told us that there was “nothing wrong with the car, we checked the computer and cleared it. Sometimes, this issue happens when the battery gets low as we were working on the car while the car lights were on. I drove around, it is good to go now”. We left the dealership a second time under the false impression that our car had finally been fixed properly now. We drove about a mile and a half before the same malfunction warning showed up on the screen on the dashboard, so we had to turn back again and return to the dealership. We spoke to Shea again and he took the car one more time. He came back quickly and told us that the car transfer case was malfunctioning and give us a print out see attached that it would cost a few thousand dollars to fix it. We were incredibly upset at that point, after having waited 5 full hours on our single day off from busy and stressful jobs to fix a BMW safety recall issue just to have your personnel damage our car, then having the audacity to ask us to pay you thousands of dollars to fix damages you caused to the vehicle in the first place. Is this the kind of dirty tricks BMW uses to try and make business? We unequivocally refuse to fall victim to that. It is thus that we demand them restore our car to the original condition but they refused to do anything, we still have no car to drive! More

Terrible Service One star because it won’t let me leave none. I arrived on time for my 10 am oil change today. The appointment started off ok, I was told it would One star because it won’t let me leave none. I arrived on time for my 10 am oil change today. The appointment started off ok, I was told it would be about 2 hours so I requested shuttle service to nearby Mosaic. The only redeeming part of the whole experience were the shuttle drivers who were sweet, courteous and kind. After 3 hours and no news on my car, I call to shuttle back to the dealer to be there because I figure it can’t be much longer...(ha!) Upon arriving, I get a text saying that the car is done and is being washed. I think: perfect timing, right?! The message says I should text back or call. I text back immediately letting them know I am at the dealer and ready whenever they are. Instead of calling, I walked over to the reception area since I was right there and told the young man about the text and let him know I just wanted to check in with him too, to let the dealership know I was there. He tells me to tell the cashier. I go and tell her too. So that’s now 3 different ways I tried to notify the dealership that I was there. THREE!! Ok...I wait. And wait. And wait. No one ever calls me or says anything else to me. Finally after about 30 mins I go back to the cashier to see what’s up. She says she can’t find my paperwork....ok....I figure it’s because they are still making sure my car is nice and clean/washed. I sit back down. Wait. Wait. Wait. After almost 30 more minutes I go back to the cashier like ok, seriously, where’s my car. She nearly laughs and says “oh, you’re still here?!” Goes into the back and comes back with the paperwork and the service advisor at her heels telling me she didn’t know I was here — I am dumbfounded, as I did everything I could to let my presence known — I sign the papers and try to find my car. No one walked me to where it was supposed to be or anything. I stood in the garage thing for a while looking around and finally noticed the car outside of the garage. I walk towards it and just stare in utter disbelief —— after an extra f#*%ing hour of waiting the car wasn’t even washed like the text SAID it was OR my stupid receipt I signed STATED it was. I voiced my frustration to the guy who handed me the keys. He said they don’t wash cars when it’s cold and goodbye, basically. So, all in all, I waited FOUR HOURS for an oil change, did everything humanly possible to let them know I was there and still got ignored, and didn’t even get my car wash that my invoice states I got. So...what else is on my invoice that didn’t even get done???? Ridiculous!! I am a mother. If I didn’t have to rush home to get my kid after these FOUR HOURS I would have stayed to go off on the service manager. Way to let me know what you think of me and my time or my business. Get your staff under control! Why do none of them communicate with each other?! I want my xxxx car wash! Smh. But I was tired and pissed off and needed to get back to my baby so I left but I tried to call to complain (not that they are going to care anyway) and the phone lines won’t even let you connect to anything. The number prompt will just continue talking like you didn’t even press anything when you try. So ridiculous. Will definitely drive the extra miles to go to any other bmw dealership in the future. More
