I feel it is my duty to my fellow Bimmer owners to ensure they never have the experience I had at BMW of FairFax. There are many details which make this part very hard butI will be brief. My sunroof exploded (Aug 08)which created damage to my vehicle, including paint. My husband was doing a tour in Iraq at the time but before he left, he gave me Brian Thomas' card and said, "If you ever have trouble with the car, take it to Brian, he will take care of it". So, I did and I was truely sorry. They were kind enough to fix it under warranty which I thought was a good thing at the time. My car was in the shop for three weeks and was given back to me in worse condition than when I left. The car's interior was stained with black inside and my immaculate paint job was now all scratched on the sides and back. My 335i was not even a year old and it looked three years hold. I was mortified and speechless that I left the dealer for fear of going "postal". Initially, I dealt with Mr. Thomas who made me feel like I should be grateful for whatever they did even if it was crap. They were given a second attempt to make it right and failed then also by not addressing the scratches created by their shop. When my husband returned three weeks ago, he was livid. We just got back from Richmond BMW, where they did more for us in two days than Fairfax did in one month. STAY AWAY FROM BMW OF FAIRFAX, their service is poor, their standards are poor, their workmanship is poor and they invest zero quality assurance. More
I posted the same positive review on Arlington BMW, and it holds true with this dealer - I'd recommend starting your relationship with the dealership through their website. I've talked to all Northern Virg it holds true with this dealer - I'd recommend starting your relationship with the dealership through their website. I've talked to all Northern Virginia dealers by initiating contact with the Internet Sales Manager. Kyle has been very patient and customer focused. I've been extremely particular in what I want, and he always emails me back to answer my questions and is available via phone. I've worked in sales before, and know I'm being a pain with my constant requests/questions, but Kyle has been very professional. Also, his price quotes have been very fair - surprisingly fair in fact, as I got the Consumer Reports invoice price, and his prices are not much above dealer invoice. More
I own a 330 cic. I got into a bad accident over a year ago and, unfortunately, took my car to BMW Fairfax for repair. Lets just say they cut every corner to save money for my insurance company and left me ago and, unfortunately, took my car to BMW Fairfax for repair. Lets just say they cut every corner to save money for my insurance company and left me with problems galore. I later found out that my insurance has some kind of agreement with them, so I was not surprised that BMW Fairfax was willing to screw the little guy over in the best interest of Allstate Insurance and more referrals from Allstate. I had a similar issue just a couple of months ago and went to BMW Sterling instead. They did what they needed to do and I am very happy with their service. There is a reason why BMW Sterling far outperforms BMW Fairfax in every customer satisfaction category. With BMW Fairfax, the problems occurred immediately. The day after I got my car back from the shop, my engine cover fell out the bottom of the car. I took it back to BMW Fairfax to get fixed and they tried to charge ME $600 for it instead of sending the bill to my insurance. I argued that the engine cover was obviously damaged in the accident and that I just picked my car up from their shop the day before. They argued that, "Once the car leaves our lot there is nothing we can do." I left fuming. I got even more angry when I looked under the car and realized that the engine cover was not even replaced. The one that was damaged in the accident was haphazardly screwed back on to the bottom of the car just to save the insurance company a few hundred bucks. REDICULOUS! BMW Fairfax screwed me by not replacing the broken engine cover with a new one. The thing was literally cracked in half with pieces of it missing. They screwed me a second time when the broken engine cover fell off the the day after I picked it up and they refused to charge my insurance for it. BMW should have replaced and fixed it without any additional cost to me. Since then, I have had several problems with the car totaling to over $5,000. I suspect many of these problems are due to BMW Fairfaxs negligence and poor handling of my vehicle. DO NOT GO TO BMW FAIRFAX. The cost is too great. More
The sales process was fine. My sales advsior was professional, courteous, efficient, and not pressure selling. He did his best to ensure things were taken care of throughout the process and offered professional, courteous, efficient, and not pressure selling. He did his best to ensure things were taken care of throughout the process and offered his assistance every step of the way. The negotiating process was very simple and pretty painless. I didn't require a lot of hand holding since I knew what I wanted. More
I recently bought a 2003 BMW 330i Performance Package from BMW of Fairfax. After reading all the negative reviews, I felt I should state that my experience was very positive. The price was lower than alm from BMW of Fairfax. After reading all the negative reviews, I felt I should state that my experience was very positive. The price was lower than almost every other comparable car. My client advisor, James Duerbeck, consistently went out of his way to ensure my family and I were comfortable during the dealings. He was very polite, and I would gladly come back to purchase a vehicle even though it is a 220 mile drive for me. The car itself was in great shape. While the exterior had the usual wear of a 5 year old car, the interior was fantastic, and the engine and transmission work perfectly. More
Don't be scared off by the other reviews on here. They gave me a great deal on my new BMW, took care of me very quickly both in signing the papers and in showing me how all the features on my car worked. gave me a great deal on my new BMW, took care of me very quickly both in signing the papers and in showing me how all the features on my car worked. They are a little busy sometimes, so the dealership may seem more hectic than most BMW dealerships, but they will take good care of you. Highly recommended. More
I normally wouldn't write a recommendation for a dealer; however, I believe after reading the reviews on this site that BMW of Fairfax is not being treated fairly. I could not disagree with many of the re however, I believe after reading the reviews on this site that BMW of Fairfax is not being treated fairly. I could not disagree with many of the reviews more. In fact, I purchased a 2007 328xi in May from this dealership and could not have been happier with the way I was treated by Jude (my salesperson),Paul and the internet sales person. They were all fantastic. My family and I were treated with respect. Not only was I offered a very fair price for the BMW, Paul offered a very fair price for my trade-in vehicle which was a Subaru Legacy with very high mileage. Although the transaction lasted a bit longer than I would have liked (my wife and daughter were getting a bit antsy), it was not at all an unpleasant experience. I would very highly recommend working with BMW of Fairfax; I'm certain you'll be treated repectfully and fairly. In fact, I am considering purchasing an X3 for my wife early in 2008 and I am seriously considering trading my 2007 328xi for a 2008 version with a European Delivery during the summer months. There is no doubt in my mind that I'll visit Jude or Paul to purchase the car. I have also brought my car in for service and was treated very well by Wolf and the service manager. I wouldn't bring the car anyplace else. Bottom line - you owe it to yourselves to give this dealer a chance. More
Absolute worst experience in my entire life at a dealer. I could not believe their lack of respect and honesty for a customer. I had read many bad reviews and heard many bad things about this dealership bu I could not believe their lack of respect and honesty for a customer. I had read many bad reviews and heard many bad things about this dealership but wanted to test the waters for myself. I went in and test drove a 335xi and sat down for negotiations. After we agreed to a price, it was late and they were closing the dealership. We both decided I would return tomorrow to finalize papers. They called me the next morning and I asked if they would honor the deal and the salesmen said 'Of course'. So I drove 20 miles back to the dealer to sign papers and suddenly the manager had determined they could no longer honor the price, but instead wanted $750 extra... I was in shock and wanted to leave, so then they said the best they could do was $500 extra so I walked out. 5 minutes later the salesmen calls and tells me to return and that the manager will offer me the deal. I was so angry I told the guy I am turning around to come back. I never did go back, but instead went to BMW of Sterling and bought my coupe there!! More
I recently took my 2001 BMW 325i (75,000 miles) in the morning on 9/24/07 for service inspection, brake repairs, and defective pumping system for windshield spray. I was charged ~$2300 in for repairs lis morning on 9/24/07 for service inspection, brake repairs, and defective pumping system for windshield spray. I was charged ~$2300 in for repairs listed above. After I picked up my car ~7:00pm on 9/25/07, I was driving around when the coolant light came on. When I arrived home, I had to wait for the engine to cool down before I could check the coolant level. Lo and behold, when I came to check my car, there was a large puddle of coolant under it and the coolant indicator was all the way at the bottom of the coolant tank. Even after I added more coolant, it just poured right out. To make matters worse, even though they repaired the windshield wiper spray, it still did not work. I brought my car back in on 9/26/07 at 7:00am. I was later told that since their technicians could not find a reason for the coolant leak or a reason how they could have caused it, they were going to charge me ~$900 for repair (which they did). I subsequently picked up my car on 9/27/07 ~7:00pm again. Now it is 9/29/07, and once again I found a puddle of coolant under my car and while driving, the coolant leak came on again. I had to fill the coolant tank twice before I got home since it was leaking and am screwed until Monday since I wasn't able to get my car in before they closed on a Saturday. Talk about crappy service for a crappy car. More
Thought I'd write a review about these scam artists. I had a 97' 328i that I took to them once. They did some front end work and told me that my belts needed replaced too, for $275.00!!! Are you kidding m had a 97' 328i that I took to them once. They did some front end work and told me that my belts needed replaced too, for $275.00!!! Are you kidding me!! I said no, I'll get another opinion, glad I did. I took it to my own (honest) mechanic. He said my belts were good and when needed, he would charge $150 parts and labor to replace them all. Well, I never did have to replace them after all. I put over 40,000 trouble free miles on those belts that supposedly needed to be replaced by the Fairfax BMW thieves. More
