As others have noted, this dealership is horrible. They tell you what you want to hear during sales. For instance, the sales person told me service for three years was included in my lease deal, but t They tell you what you want to hear during sales. For instance, the sales person told me service for three years was included in my lease deal, but this turned out to be untrue. I have also been waiting for the check for my trade in for over three weeks now. Both the sales rep and finance have been ignoring my calls and not called me back. Absolutely horrendous experience. Purchased a new X5 at BMW Escondido. All went well during the initial purchase. Noticed there was no First Aid Kit in the pocket in the back area. Salesperson stated that he would get one and mail it to us. He went on vacation for which we were not aware of. Another salesperson answered his e-mail and said he would be back on a certain date. A couple of times after the salesperson was supposed to be back from vacation I emailed asking as to the first aid kit. No reply was ever forthcoming. During a hand wash of the vehicle I noticed the valve cap covers on the stems for the tires were missing. I again tried to call the salesperson. Again no reply. I then called the salesmanager. He had the sales person call me. One of my concerns besides those two issues was while driving the car in cruise control I almost ran into the back of another vehicle as the cruise control did not slow the car down. After reading the manual many times I could not get the distance control to work as is standard on cruise control functions. I mentioned this to the salesperson and he stated it was not turned on. He sent me a U Tube on how to turn it on. What he sent was for collision control not distance control. He asked me to send a video of the dash when the cruise control was activated and then he would call me back. He never called back. I tried again to call him. He never answered his phone and never returned my call. I sent them an e-mail and informed them I have purchased four BMW vehicles in the past. All had cruise control with distance control. We just assumed this very expensive vehicle had distance control from our past experience with BMW's. A major mistake as we discovered after googling that it is an option. When we were with the finance manager she stated that once we signed the paperwork that there were no options to return the car. That was an overlooked clue on our part. When she stated that I should of got up and walked out. Once you sign the paperwork the dealer can now decide to totally ignore you and provide absolutely no service if they feel so inclined. This is obvious what the Escondido BMW dealer is doing. When you spend close to $90,000 dollars on a vehicle you would think that once the salesperson said he would get you a first aid kit, valve cap covers for tire stems and you assume distance control would be automatically included in a premium vehicle. No they are options and since the paperwork was signed you are out of luck. I would think twice about purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. More
Really bad experience here. Let me start by saying the sales guy was great. It was his managers that ruined the deal. We found a car we liked and were ready to negotiate. We Let me start by saying the sales guy was great. It was his managers that ruined the deal. We found a car we liked and were ready to negotiate. We had a couple questions about the service history before we were ready to make an offer. When my husband expressed concern over something on the service history we were told we obviously don’t know German cars. Wrong. We have had multiple German cars over the last 20 years. That should have been my first warning. Next he told us he just marked down the price that morning so couldn’t negotiate. Another lie, we checked the website before we came and the price was exactly the same as it had been all week. When we offered our price he basically said he’s rather it go to auction. We said that’s fine, we could take it or leave it and we’re about to walk out when he said hold on. Let me call the general manager. Guess what, she agreed to our price. Great. We said we would buy it. But then here came the finance manager over… we came in with our financing already set. Had a blank check in our hand from our credit union along with the approval letter and told him we didn’t want them to run our credit since it wasn’t needed . We had financing set and could give them the check right then. Showed it to him. Told them they could call the credit union if they wanted to verify. Nope. He said we had to run a credit check with them or no deal. Basically got angry with us when we said no. Got an attitude and told us then then you have no deal!! So we left. After two extremely rude managers I left feeling glad we didn’t give them our business. Buying a car should be a positive experience and a customer should feel good about it. If I’m going to spend that much money I want to feel good when I leave. Not like I was lied too or given attitude. We are going to buy a Bmw soon but I’ll be giving a different dealership my business. More
I met Mike Duplessis in crisis mode with a flat tire late in the day. He waited for me to limp into the dealership at almost closing time. Came in and was greeted by Brian and he made me not want to work with bmw anymore. I get if you are having a bad day or something but you should never take it out on your customers.
